Akothee to Kobi: If you live a lie you doing harm to yourself

Singer Akothee has come out to ask Kenyan celebrities to stop faking lifestyle on social media to get likes.

Her message comes days after NTV presenter Kobi Kihara was on the spot for stealing pictures online and posting them on her account as hers. According to Akothee, Kenyan celebrity should avoid such things because they have to explain everything to their fans.

“I LIVE A BETTER LIFE THAN THE ONE I PRESENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA,I HAVE LEARNT TO BE TRUE TO MYSELF THAN PLEASING HUMAN BEINGS , that’s why it’s easier for me to do what I want , if you live a lie you doing harm to yourself, because you will have to explain each and every situation like , my car is at the garage yet you have none! I am buying a new house, yet you and me knows you can’t even afford your rent as at now? You play with life too much!

“Live your life, fantasy is a killer of dreams , you will lie to people until the lies become part of your life and even end up lying to yourself, that’s why most people end up living a lie because they can’t face reality!, Be you , and if they don’t like it , let them beat you or unfollow you ! Or #calpolis, imagine they don’t care that much, they are having fun following your life! And just imagine it’s fake you have no option but to be strong, it can happen, people have done it , so you can,” said Akothee.

Be you

She went on:

“Do you think anyone would take your pain? Is there anyone who would take care of your children like you do? Do you think there is anyone who knows or cares about your dreams? Do you think there is anyone happy when you are successful? What will happen today if internets doesn’t exist? Do you think your life will be different without social media presence? I LIVE A BETTER LIFE THAN THE ONE I PRESENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA,I HAVE LEARNT TO BE TRUE TO MYSELF THAN PLEASING HUMAN BEINGS , that’s why it’s easier for me to do what I want , if you live a lie you doing harm to yourself, because you will have to explain each and every situation like , my car is at the garage yet you have none!”,  she said.

Akothee: If he comes with a bunch of money to pay a 2k bill, he’s broke

Kenyans, mostly ladies, have been trying to decode how controversial singer Akothee manages to prune rich men and isolate broke guys. Though Akothee said there’s no particular formular to it, the singer has one or two secrets on how she does it.

Avoid flossers

One secret, according to madam boss, is avoiding those men who carry a bunch of money in clubs just to clear a bill worth KSH 2,000 or Ksh 5,000.

“Listen, if your debts are bigger than the number of assets you own my friend you are broke ????? riches are not measured by liquid cash ,” She said on IG.

“Stay away from men who take out a bunch bundles of money in clubs to pay a bill of 5k and gives you 2k for taxi back home , the rest of the money back in his pocket is to keep you on your toes , so you worship his next invitation ???? utakuja achwa mataani ?? rich people don’t splash money they worked for it so they respect the presence of money.”

Adding:

“Money easily earned easily spent , be warned , flashy life is a lifestyle not an investment , you don’t get rich by spending money , you get rich by earning & investing money ??None of your children will ever enjoy your flash lifestyle after you dead & gone because it’s not an investment that can secure their future , it’s short term solution to a longterm problem TANO STRONG, do the show and don’t forget the biz part of it , that’s why it’s called showbiz ??”

“56,000 can’t even pay my photographer” Akothee reveals how much she pays her domestic employees

Akothee couldn’t stop grumbling after Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) wrote her a cheque of Kes 56,000; an amount that can’t even pay the monthly salary of her photographer.

Kenyan musicians have for years complained about receiving peanut pay as royalties from MSCK. Akothee revealed that the last cheque she got from the music regulatory body was in October 2016.

She said the cheque was of little worth to her since the amount she was paid as royalties was so little that it couldn’t even pay her own photographer.

Akothee stated that the 56,000 she was paid by MSCK was the monthly salary for only two of her domestic workers. In simpler term Akothee pays her domestic servants Kes 28,000 a month.

“Dont ask me about music right now , the last cheque I recieved from MCSK was 56,000 in October last year , this is salary for only 2 of my domestic employees per month, this cant even pay my photographer ?? so leave me alone , listen to the ones on yuotube , like baby daddy link on my bio & the rest , leave music for now will collect it next month ???? awards are coming give me what you think I deserve,” Akothee grumbled.
