Churchill speaks after rampant death of young comedians (Video)

As the comedy fraternity in Kenya continues to mourn the sad passing on of promising creative, Othuol Othuol, details of what is ailing the industry continue to emerge.

The most recent story, is one told by the platform founder himself, Mwalimu Churchill. Whose name has been dragged in mud time and again as young comedians continue to languish in poverty. A number loosing their lives in unclear circumstances.

Mwalimu Churchill spills the beans

The Godfather of comedy in Kenya believes that so many upcoming comedians lack the ability to efficiently manage their money while busy chasing ‘the social media lifestyle’.

The minute a comedian starts earning some good money, they attract a certain circle of friends. Some good, others not so good.

Remember, a stand-up comedian of this kind, is not guaranteed a monthly salary, so when you spend all you have today, tomorrow you might have to live without.

“One of the biggest challenge in the entertainment industry is the social media. So you have a big name, have a big following and you have to impress people every single day. In order to remain relevant. But sometimes, it gets out of hand,” Churchill admitted.

However, the Churchill Show founder, believes he gave the deceased a golden platform to grow his brand which he at times took with a lot of seriousness.

It is sad that majority of people who shared this journey of life with the late comedian, admitted he was very stubborn. One with bad drinking habits that might have cost him his life.

Comedian Kasee did his job well and after accomplishing his mission in life; the young father, friend and husband was finally laid to rest this past weekend, Saturday, 4 July.

His funeral went down at his rural home in Matuu, Machakos county at a village called, Itumunduni. Among those who attended his funeral are his former colleagues; MC Allandoz aka Brayo, the Mchungaji – Mtumishi duo and boss Churchill aka Daniel Ndambuki.

As seen on the photos below, it’s evident that Kasee’s death left his family, friends and villagers in tears and denial since he was still quite young.

Also, never has it ever been easy for a parent to bury their own child – hence the tears and grief in his home!

There are a few photos from his burial making rounds on social media; however the Churchill show management seems to prefer keeping them off their social media pages.

So far very few have emerged showing how the funeral went down in Matuu; but unlike Njenga Mswahili’s funeral, it appears Kasee’s send off was more private due to the ongoing pandemic around the world.

As seen on the photos all the guests were required to show up in masks; and indeed they did. The photos also show some social distancing for safety purposes despite having all met to mourn the loss of a loved one.

Laugh Industry’s Ken Waudo has come out to share new details concerning the untimely death of comedian, Kasee. As seen on a text sent by Ken, the cause of Joseph Musyoka’s death remains unknown to them despite having carried a postmortem.

Ken Waudo went on to add that the results received were inconclusive; however the remaining samples were taken to a government chemist for further analysis. He however assured fans that the final results will be privately handed to the late Kasee’s family for closure.

MEANWHILE, postmortem was conducted on the late comedian Joseph Musyoka Kivindu AKA *Kasee* as faciltated by one of our senior member Mc Jessy.
The revelations from the exercise were not conclusive hence samples were taken to Government chemist for further analysis before final report is handed to authorities and family.

As they however wait for the final report, the Laugh Industry chairperson asked fans; and colleagues to avoid speculating on what could have caused Kasee’s death; probably to avoid the online scandals surrounding the Churchill show management.

Messages of condolences are however welcomed and will be delivered to his family on Friday, 3 July.

We also encourage fellow comedians and public to desist from speculations as we await the results. We are also encouraging messages of condolences, which we will deliver them to the family. Tomorrow,3rd July 2020 we will have an informal session with family at their Kawangware home.

The late Kasee will however be laid to rest On Saturday, 4 July at his rural home in Itumunduni, Matuu Machakos.

Ken went on to add;

The late comedian is scheduled for final rites at his fathers home in Itumunduni, Matuu Machakos on Saturday 4th of July. There will be a short prayer session at Chiromo Mortuary that morning at 8 am before travelling to Machakos for interment later on in the day.

“You will kill us!” Jalang’o finally exposes people behind Kasee’s death

Celebrated Kenyan radio personality, Jalang’o has come out public to reveal the individuals behind youthful comedian Kasee’s death.

The local entertainment industry lost the budding creative on Sunday, June 28, in what was labeled “unclear” circumstances around his death.

Words have been thrown all over accusing this individual or the other for the multiple deaths among young comedians but none of it gave evidence of the actual cause of Kasee’s death.

Revelation

So now, Jalang’o decided to bite the bullet and spill the beans on what has been ailing the local comedy scene, that has cost the industry major loss of its creatives.

He emotionally started off:

It is sad that in the past few Months we have lost several artists in my industry…ART! This Saturday we lay to rest Kasee of Churchill show…May God rest your soul in Peace… Where do I even begin with this message?

Before calling out fans who put pressure on these comedians to lead a lifestyle that they cannot afford and one that is just not the reality.

My message goes to the fans! When you see us on TV doesn’t mean we are rich! We are just normal Kenyans who are known or famous so dont judge or set standards for us! You will kill us!!

Explaining:

How? You meet a fan in a kibanda and their first question is..Jalas, Tricky, Sleepy wewe pia ukula hapa? You meet me in a mat and all you ask is why Mamito ako kwa mat!

Unknown to many, this usually forces certain standards among comedians, who eventually sink into depression and eventually death.

So what sinks in me is that Iam a superstar and I should not be in a mat yet thats what I can afford! So I lock myself in my house until I can afford an ubber. Or afford to eat at Miale that’s when I come out! All this time I sit in my house drinking my sorrows away hoping I get the money everybody thinks I have..I will be in my sorrows that will sink me into depression…when I die all you say is type on my page RIP! ????????????????

Churchill Show’s comedian found dead!

Comedian Kasee also known as Joseph Musyoki Kivindu was found lying dead on the road heading to his home on Sunday, 28 June.

According to reports his lifeless body was found on the road side leading to Nginduri area, Kinoo.

Although the course of the death has not been identified, Ken Waudo from the Churchill management has confirmed that the police are now handling investigations to identify the clear cause of Kasee’s death.

Rumor however has it that he was depressed and since he had turned to alcohol to suppress his feeling; it appears that things got out of hand. Speaking about about the incident Ken Waudo opened up saying;

kasee had gone drinking with his friends and did not return and was later found dead on the road in kinoo and his body was taken to chiromo mortuary.

Among those who have come out to speak about Kasee’s death is Churchil aka Daniel Ndambuki who tweeted;

Meanwhile I’ve received sad news that comedian Kasee is no more..So sad, RIP

He went on to remember Kasee’s family in yet another post where he wrote;

A really sad way to end the week… it is a bitter pill to swallow but then we cannot question God’s plans… My deepest condolences to the family & friends of Kasee… May your hearts find peace from the almighty.

Othuol Othuol hospitalized

The sad news comes just a few days after comedian Othuol Othuol was hospitalized following health complications.

According to online reports, Othuol Othuol is receiving treatment at the Kenyatta hospital where he was admitted after being transferred from a private hospital in Kitengela.

Although TB almost put him down in 2019, Othuol continues to fight for his life; and so far friends and family continue to send get well messages as they look forward to his recovery!
