Bahati shares that he started off as Willy Paul’s errand boy

Gospel singer Bahati, before he made a name for himself, was depending on Willy Paul’s name to make a living.

In an interview with Chipukeezy on Ebru TV, the popular singer shared that he started of as an errand boy for Pozze way back while trying to penetrate the industry.

Respect

He also told Chipukeezy that he has always respected Willy Paul since he has played a huge part in the Kenyan gospel industry.

“You never know kwangu nadhani at that time it was more real because hatukuwa tumejua ustar ni nini, and by the way nilikuwa kijana wa mkono wa huyo boy, so namrespect sana kwa ile contribution amemake kwa industry. Yeye alishika doo mbele yangu kama nilikuwa kijana wa mkono. Lakini sisi ni mabeste sana,” he said.

Willy Paul also rushes to work with Tanzanian artist after Bahati, releases new song ‘Njiwa’

If Bahati did it, Willy Pual will do it. And just to be fair, if Pozze is doing it, Kijana wa mama will also do it. It’s now an official pattern.

Days after Bahati went to Tanzania for his latest collabo, it seems Willy Paul was right behind him also pulling the same moves. Paul has now released his latest song dubbed “Njiwa”, that features Nandi, a Tanzanian songstress.

Willy Paul’s words after Groove Awards finally nominated him and Bahati, lifting their ban

Groove Awards in the past has complained that singers Willy Paul and Bahati shouldn’t be in their awards at all because they don’t sound gospel. Many agreed and judging by the collabos the two young artists have been hunting, we can’t blame the popular awards.

It seems however this year the two have been brought back into the line up despite their controversial music.

Willy Paul has been nominated for the the video of the year category with his song Jigi Jigi while Bahati is in the Song of the year and collabo of the year categories with Ndogo Ndogo.

On Instagram, Paul thanked Groove Awards with a long speech. He said:

“YES it’s amazing how things work . Force it till you make it.. what i’m saying is, do you and love you.. they will one day see the good in you.. dnt change for anyone.. as long as ur doing the right thing, keep at it… it’s funny but I’ve been nominated in this year’s groove awards under the Best video category with the song #JIGIJIGI.. yes it’s amazing.. God is love.. and im happy finally the organizers are seeing what im seeing.. my boy @weezdommusic has also been nominated for the same award under the same category… my people stand up and vote.. but remember, awarding is just a way of appreciating the good work. But siku ya kiama.. Will all go to heaven.. with or without awards… @grooveawards. “

Willy Paul spills the beans

Willy Paul says that love is a feeling experienced by everyone including preachers, secular and gospel artists, Muslim and Christians. For this reason he sees no harm in coming up with songs that express this amazing feeling.

He goes on to add that without love we wouldn’t have successful marriages and for this reason he will continue preaching it.
