It has been two years now since Janet Mbugua resigned at Citizen TV. Recently, social media has been buzzing after she official announced her comeback which will be on NTV.
Mbugua will be hosting a new show called “Here and Now”, which will be centered on the youth and will tackle social, economic and political issues they are facing.
“I am so jittery and that shows that I care about the product. A mentor once told me, the day you stop being nervous you should be worried,” she said.
Mbugua has now dropped a snippet of the show and we want you to be the judge. The first episode includes her brother and former radio presenter Anita Nderu as they talk about depression and mental health.
“A difficult conversation with my older brother Kevin, plus a look in to a subject affecting many young people today and more. @hereandnowke premiers at 8 o’clock tonight on @ntvkenya. Use #HereAndNowKE,” she said on social media.

Janet Mbugua is now only a month a way to delivery and she’s getting a little nervous. The former Citizen TV news anchor shared in her blog that she has done everything right so far and she hoping that everything will go smoothly.
Hoping for the best
She also went on to add that she hopes she will push the baby and not a caesarean section like she did with her first born.
“MY DUE DATE IS TOWARDS THE END OF SEPTEMBER. I’M TRYING TO DO AS MUCH AS I CAN TO HAVE A DIFFERENT KIND OF BIRTH THIS TIME. I WANT TO PUSH THIS BABY. I DID CS FOR MY FIRST BABY BECAUSE HE WAS IN A BREECH POSITION AND I REMEMBER AT A TIME THINKING AS LONG AS IT’S GOOD FOR THE BABY I’M FINE, AND THAT’S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL EVEN THIS TIME ROUND, EXCEPT THIS TIME I AM BEING SO INTENTIONAL ABOUT PUSHING. I JUST DON’T WANT TO GO THROUGH ANOTHER SURGERY. HOWEVER, IF THAT’S GOD’S PLAN I AM NOT GOING TO FIGHT IT.” she said.
Before Evaline Momanyi and Paul Ndichu started dating, there was Grace Mslame. Mslame’s union with Ndichu ended but left behind beautiful twins.
Now that Momanyi is in the picture and usually spends time with the two girls, she took to social media to explain how she hacks the tricky relationship without causing friction.
Not that unique
According to her, such families(blended family) thrive on respect and real love. We have seen Ndichu taking care of the twins and still being there for his new bundle of joy.
“Blended families are not that unique. My thoughts on it is there should be real genuine love. There has to be a lot of respect and communication around everybody. For the fathers, you always have to take responsibility and you will live in a peaceful situation,” she explained.
Former Citizen TV news anchor Janet Mbugua has always tried to uplift and empower women as much as possible. The now pregnant journalist was recently on social media with a post advising women to keep going and avoid listening to naysayers who can derail them.
Stay focused and ignore the noise
As a woman, you need to stop listening to anyone who plans to bring you down and focus on becoming a better version of yourself, she argued.
“As a woman, the whole thing for tearing each other and feeling like one is important does not help much and women need to shine their lights and learn that they are important,” She said. “Learn to do away with the noise and remember to remind yourself that you are doing the best that you can.”
TV hottie Janet Mbugua has landed a new job on TV just three months after she quit her job at Citizen TV where she worked for five long years.
Janet’s reason for leaving Citizen TV was ridiculous to many people, she said she left the station because she wanted to pursue her passion projects.
“I happen to be a believer in doing what feels right when the moment feels right, as long as I’ve thoroughly thought it through, prayed, meditated and know that I can sleep with a sense of conviction in my soul. I’m also deeply aware of how blessed and lucky I’ve been. The opportunity to have been a Broadcast Journalist for 10 years has been humbling and rewarding, with 5 of those years spent at Citizen TV. For that I’d like to thank Farida Karoney and Wachira Waruru, who have believed in me through and through. I know the moment is right for me to take a sabbatical; breathe, reflect, pursue my passion projects in earnest and spend time with my young family. It’s more ‘see you soon’ than ‘goodbye’,” Janet Mbugua announced her reason for quitting her job at Citizen TV.
Well, mama Ethan has landed a new job at WhatsGood TV. Janet announced on social media that she will be a co-host “Mum’s Village” alongside Bree Wendo on WhatsGood TV.
