Artists’ cry final heard as President Uhuru agrees to meet them at State House

The pressure has now switched from DJs and presenters to State House Director of Brand Strategy and Events after president Uhuru Kenyatta asked for a meeting with entertainers following their recent appeal to increase local content in the media.

Speaking during Former Youth Enterprise Development Fund boss Bruce Odhiambo’s burial, Uhuru said that it’s time they solve these nagging issues that have being slowing the Kenyan music industry.

He asked State House Director of Brand Strategy and Events Big Ted to organise a meeting.

“Arrange and bring them to State House if that is what you want so that we can talk and discuss the future of the music industry in the country,” Uhuru said.

Another chance

It’s the second time the president has asked for such a meeting. Mid last year, Uhuru asked for a similar meeting during Joseph Kamaru’s burial.

The meeting was later canceled after fraudsters also listed themselves as artists in order to meet the president.

For over a month now, local musicians have been on the necks of radio presenters and DJs demanding for more airplay and level playing fields.

Kanze Dena forced to explain why employee was caught crawling behind president Uhuru in Mombasa during speech

State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena has explained why a woman was captured on camera crawling behind stage as President Uhuru Kenyatta gave his speech in Mombasa last week.

Hawk-eyed Kenyans noticed the woman crawling a few meters behind Kenyatta during a live TV interview at State House, Mombasa.

The video immediately hit trending lists as Kenyans tried to figure out why the woman crawled. According to Dena, she had sent the woman to handle a few urgent matters before the video went live and she couldn’t make it back in time.

Poor timing

“I needed her (the woman crawling) to handle some urgent task. By the time the cameras had begun rolling, she was on the right side of the president. Her positioning was okay until something came up during the interview,” said Kanze Dena in an interview with eDaily.

She added that poor timing is to blame for that.

“I am blaming poor timing on the gaffe. Our arrangement was when the cameras were focused on the journalists, she would crawl to the left. Unfortunately, when she was doing that, the cameras resumed focus on the Head of State.” she said.

President Uhuru’s relative hits P unit member’s car and refuses to pay, exchange blows

A third of popular music group P unit, Bon-eye, was recently forced to pull his sleeves up and attack a man who had hit his car and then went on to flatly deny paying for the damages because he’s related to president Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to The Star Newspaper, Bon-eye was at a restaurant along Kiambu Road and a cousin to Kiambu Woman Rep Nyokabi Gathecha(who is relative to Uhuru), identified as Joe Nyaga, drove in the joint and hit his Volvo 4×4 with his Toyota Ipsum then refused to pay.

“I was seated inside the restaurant when a taxi guy came and informed me that someone had hit my car. I exited to check and found that it was true. When I requested the individual [Joe] for us to have an agreement on how best he will compensate he refused,”  Bon-Eye said.

Refused to share his name and details

Bon-Eye went on to add that Nyaga totally refused to share his details insisting that the singer should first know who he was dealing with.  He pulled rank and asked Bon-Eye, “Do you know who I am?” which led to a shouting match that later turned physical.

In the end, Bon-Eye overpowered him, forced him to give him his details and agree to pay for the damages.

“I expect him to cover the costs of the repair. I will take my car to my mechanic and send him the bill,” the musician said.

Kenyans on social media unleash hilarious memes after president Uhuru Kenyatta failed to attend the presidential debate

Kenyans on social media keep proving that they have no chills. After president Uhuru Kenyatta failed to attend the presidential debate that went down yesterday at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) – Kenyans decided to get creative by coming up with memes that explained why he failed to attend.

However, as much as it seemed like a fun and games moment – most Kenyans felt that the president had failed them as he was not willing to spare 90 minutes to prove to them why he was the best candidate to be re-elected come August 8th, 2017.

Anyway, the presidential debate went just fine despite Uhuru Kenyatta not being present.
