Ex lovers: Alfred Mutua and Lilian Ng’ang’a

Well, you can call it maturity, living in denial or whatever but as far as we now know, Alfred Mutua will not delete his exes photos just because they broke up. The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader revealed this during a candid interview with Nairobi News, making it known these are memories he treasures.

As we already know, the two had been together for 10 years – meaning they shared more than just pictures but lifetime memories. Speaking on why he still has her photos, the Governor said;

This is what I believe in life….that God brings people to your life for whatever period that God chooses and you celebrate the time you spend with those people. Regardless of any bad outcome or falling out, usually, if you spend a long time with anybody, as a friend, as a lover, as a family, the good times are better and more than the bad times.

Memories are for life

Although he may have wanted a better ending (forever together) to his love story with Lilian Ng’ang’a – clearly fate had something else planned out for the two.

However for him this doesn’t mean all is lost. It’s an experience that taught him an important lesson of accepting the position God has put him in. He went on to add;

You don’t just wash away the good times, you celebrate the good times and you accept the position that God has given you and then you move on to what God will give you next and life continues.

The Governor also made it known that he has no plans of renaming their A&L hotel which they both have shares to. According to him, he has no bad blood as rumored

The name of the hotel retains unless God changes….because it’s a company. It’s an outfit by itself, it’s not an individual. You know me I’m a person of a good heart. Me I don’t have vengeance or ill-will…I have goodness and mercy and that’s why God blesses me.

In a video shared by wife, Judy Nyawira – the content creator joked about his wife’s lonely moment saying he was out ‘hitting’ on other girls with Njugush.

His bff however dodger him (which explains why Njugush was with wife on the video) but initially – went back to their hunting mission. But all in all Abel Mutua made it known that his wife is his first priority; and went on to apologize for the awkwardness she’s since experienced since the video surfaced.

The Mutua and Njuguna’s families have been friends for over 7 years now – a simple relationship that started off after Abel gave Njugush a chance at his production.

Since then, the two have worked together on different projects, aiming to elevate each other in life. And as you’ve heard – yes, they remain an inspiration to many.

Abel Mutua has proven to be an extraordinary storyteller

Abel Mutua needs no introduction. He has been on our screens for as long as most of us can remember. He started off as an actor on Tahidi High before joining the crew and later leaving to produce shows for KTN and Maisha Magic.

However, all this time he has had a skill that very few people, if any, knew about and that is the gift of telling stories. Chances are most of us would never have know if it were not for the disruption that was caused by COVID-19.

Abel Mutua

You see, the pandemic brought almost everything to a standstill and it also affected the film industry because they could no longer go for shoots and whatnot.

This meant that people like Abel had to find a way of keeping their audiences entertained and make some money and that is when it dawned on him to start a YouTube channel where he has been telling Kenyans all manner of stories, from his life experiences to celebrity encounters. You name it.

His YouTube channel has grown rapidly over the past few weeks because he tells stories like no one else can. Someone even joked in the comments section that he can sell you a piece of stone and you will buy it.

Abel infuses humor in his stories and his narration is so vivid that you almost feel like you were there when those things were happening. You can literally picture it as it unfolds. To add to that, you easily relate to some of the things he’s saying.

Abel Mutua during his Tahidi High days.

Without a doubt, he is one of the people who has kept Kenyans on the edges of their seats during these trying times so much so that some of them take to social media to complain when he does not upload an episode in time and we thank him.

By this time Abel Mutua says he would make Ksh 20,000 per episode and when everything is totaled up; then he would receive a whopping Ksh 200,000 which was definitely a lot for a new comer like him. The money changed him to becoming a workaholic who not refused to take sometime off.

Where it all changed

Unluckily for him, the fatigue caught up to him and his body shut down without alerting him. Abel went on to narrate his story saying he passed in the washroom; and luckily he did not hit anything when landing down.

  “It got to a point where I was working so hard, I collapsed in the bathroom,”

After regaining his conscious he was taken to a certain facility where he not only received medical attention; but the best advice that helped save his life and career.

Abel Mutua says for the first he realized that the world would go on without him here.

And for that reason he now made a decision he later regretted but is grateful to have made that call.

Actor, Abel Mutua

In my head, I was so sure without me there is no Citizen TV, the show can’t go on. The shock on me! I collapsed in the bathroom and after one week’s bed rest, I resigned the following week,”

Itumbi intervenes

Resigning meant that he would no longer be receiving any of the Ksh 200,000 cheques; and after receiving his last payment Abel now started worrying about his tomorrow.

His breakthrough however came 2 months after quitting his job. Abel says he received a call from Dennis Itumbi who asked whether he would mind working for the Presidential campaign team.

“I got a call from Dennis Itumbi, he told me that his friend was putting together a presidential campaign team and whether I wanted to join. I was shocked to find out that his friend was President Uhuru Kenyatta,”

And of course this is how Abel Mutua disappeared from our TV screens until just recently when he launched a new cop TV series!

I collapsed in the shower for forty minutes and the house girl had to call for help since my wife was at work.

“I was hospitalised for two days due to fatigue. Before I was discharged the nurse gave me a wake up call. She told me Abel, I know in your mind you think your colleagues won’t go on without you.
