Former President Uhuru Kenyatta Requests UB40’s Song To Celebrate His Birthday

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta celebrated his 62nd birthday on 26th October with a unique request on the D-day.

To spice things up on his birthday, Uhuru shared her sentiments & request via radio .

In an interview with Kameme FM’s Muthoni wa Kirumba, Kenyatta sounded jovial and full of life as he led a singalong of “Happy Birthday.” He expressed his gratitude for the birthday love and prayed for continued good health and peace for Kenya.

When asked to request his favorite song, Kenyatta did not shy away from his love for reggae music.

“Which song by UB40 would you like me to play for you?” the presenter asked Uhuru.

He chose UB40’s “I Got You Babe,” which can be seen as a declaration of love and collective solidarity, especially during difficult times.

UB40 is one of the most popular reggae groups of all time, and their cover of “I Got You Babe” was sampled 20 years after its original release in 1965 by the iconic duo Sonny and Cher.

Kenyan Court Adjourns Hearing on Revoking Gun License of Uhuru Kenyatta’s Son

The Firearms Licensing Agency has denied revoking the firearm certificates of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s sons, Jomo and Muhoho. The agency has stated that the case is based on unfounded speculations.

Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia, representing the Kenyatta sons, had sought the intervention of the courts to protect them from alleged illegal actions by the arms agency.

The Attorney General has also requested removal from the proceedings since no specific orders are being sought against their office.

The case was scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday, September 27, but was adjourned to October 11, 2023, to allow the parties to file their responses.

In his case filed in July, Jomo Kenyatta implored the court to intervene and prevent the state from revoking his firearms license “without following the due process outlined in the Firearms Act.” He expressed concern that the authorities had demanded he surrender his firearms on July 21 without providing any reasons.

He emphasized that the grounds for revoking a firearm license, as outlined in the Firearms Act, cannot be invoked without affording the license holder an opportunity to be heard, which aligns with the principles outlined in the Fair Administrative Action Act.

According to court documents, Jomo Kenyatta’s license remains valid until April 27, 2024.

The move to disarm Jomo Kenyatta came after Interior CS Kithure Kindiki’s announcement on July 25, stating that 23 firearms were recovered from three residences in Karen, Nairobi. This followed an operation launched after it was established that civilian gun holders supplied weapons used during demonstrations.

Jomo Kenyatta has asserted that he has adhered to all the regulations since he was issued with the firearms.

The outcome of this case will be closely watched by many Kenyans, as it has implications for the rule of law and the rights of gun owners.

Uhuru son targeted by Ruto regime moves to court over gun licenses

The High Court received a plea from hn Jomo Kenyatta, the son of former president Uhuru Kenyatta, contesting the government’s decision to withdraw his firearms license.

John J. Kenyatta, the son of former president Uhuru Kenyatta, has pleaded with the Milimani Law Courts to get involved in an urgent issue and prevent the state from revoking his gun license.

He begs that when the Chief Licensing Officer, the Firearms Licensing Board, and the Attorney General apply for his license, “the due process set out in the Firearms Act” be adhered to.

In court papers, he argues that the action to cancel his gun license is an infraction of section 5(8) of the Guns Act. He asserts this via attorney Fred Ngatia.

He claims that despite having a license, he has not been informed of the reasons for the impending revocation.

Police ordered that Jomo surrender his weapons on July 21, but no justification was given, according to Jomo.

When Jomo questioned the offices about the possible causes of the sudden demand for his weaponry, they pretended not to know.

He pleaded with the court to get involved because he is worried about possible strong-arm techniques being used.

Despite having a license, he contends that he has not been told of the reasons for the planned revocation.

“The grounds upon which a firearm license can be revoked are provided in section 5(7) of the Firearms Act, which when read with section 7 (2) (a) (v) of the fair administrative action act, cannot be invoked without being afforded an opportunity to be heard,”

Jomo claimed that his constitutional rights would be violated unless his application was promptly admitted for a hearing and the requested orders were granted.

His license is valid until April 27, 2024, per court records.

The case has not yet been heard.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki announced on Friday that 23 firearms had been found in three homes in Karen, Nairobi, as a result of an operation that had been started after it was determined that the weapons used in the demonstrations had been provided by civilian gun owners.

“Today afternoon, an operation has been going on targeting three homesteads within the Karen area where a total of 23 firearms, some of which are suspected to have been used in illegal activities are kept,”

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta has since been in public to defend his family from the attack, daring the state to confront him rather than go after his family.

Uhuru swore he would protect his family at any costs.

Uhuru Kenyatta Accuses Authorities Of Using Raid On Son’s Home As An Attempt To Plant Guns & Drugs.

Kenyatta, who spoke at a press conference at Jomo’s home in Karen on Monday evening, said he was hurt by the raid and had been forced to stay at his son’s home to prevent further incidents.

He said that both of his sons own licensed firearms, but that neither of them has been asked to surrender them to the authorities.

Kenyatta said that he believes the raid was an attempt to divert attention from other issues and that there was no basis for the allegations against his son.

Kenyatta’s press conference comes after a week of controversy surrounding the raid on his son’s home. The raid was carried out by police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on July 21, 2023.

The DCI said that the raid was carried out in response to a tip-off that Jomo was in possession of illegal firearms. However, no illegal firearms were found during the raid.

The raid has been criticized by some as an attempt to target Kenyatta and his family. The former president has denied any wrongdoing and has said that he is confident that the truth will come out.

Sikuwa nimelewa! – Uhuru reacts to criticism over his defence of his son after abortive government raid

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has responded to criticism from some Kenyans following his address to the media at his son’s Karen home on Friday.

In a meeting with senior editors on Monday, Kenyatta said he was infuriated by the manner in which the government of President William Ruto was treating his family. He said he went to Karen after receiving a call from his eldest son, Jomo, who informed him that detectives were about to raid his house.

“I went there because of a distress call from my son; I was not drunk. I was extremely hurt,” Kenyatta said.

The former Head of State said his two sons have six guns whose licenses they applied for after he handed over the office. According to Kenyatta, the government did not renew security detail from his two sons, putting them at risk, hence the need to apply for gun licenses.

Kenyatta also said the government is using the issue of guns to divert the attention of Kenyans from the reality of the situation.

“This gun issue is surrounded by lots of propaganda to divert attention from what has been happening,” he said.

Kenyatta also dismissed allegations that he is funding the ongoing demonstrations by Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition, saying he has nothing to do with the protests. He stated that it is the opinion of Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga to defend the issues raised by Kenyans.

“It is his opinion that he is defending what the people of Kenya wants,” Kenyatta said.

The former President also said he will be available for talks with President Ruto only if he is invited, adding that during his time, he sought advice from his predecessors.

“I have always said that I am ready to talk to anyone, but I will not be the one to initiate the talks,” Kenyatta said.

Kenyatta’s response to the criticism has been met with mixed reactions. Some Kenyans have supported his stance, while others have criticized him for being defensive.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the coming days.

Try Jesus, but don’t try me, Uhuru Kenyatta tells Ruto

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned Deputy President William Ruto against attempting to hijack the Jubilee Party. Speaking at the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference on Monday, Kenyatta said that he would not be moved or shaken by threats.

“There are those who think their work is all about threats. I want to tell them to try others, not me,” Kenyatta said.

Kenyatta went on to say that he had considered resigning from the party as party leader.

“My thoughts had told me to relax on politics and go attend to other duties. I thought that today at this meeting that I would resign and said that my time is up and elect other leaders,” he said.

However, the party leader said that Jubilee will remain strong and united as one.

In February this year, Uhuru confirmed his stand in the Azimio La Umoja Coalition. He affirmed that he is still a member of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, despite his silence.

“Retirement doesn’t mean I’m tired. Others retire and increase their political strength,” Uhuru said.

“Even though I have retired from politics, I’m still a follower of Raila. If he asks me we go we have to do it. I supported him and I will continue doing so because I believe he is truthful,” Uhuru said.

The Retired head of state further affirmed his support for Opposition chief Raila Odinga and insisted that he will support him.

Kenyatta’s remarks come at a time of heightened political tensions in Kenya. The country is scheduled to hold general elections in August 2022, and the two main political parties, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya and Kenya Kwanza, are locked in a fierce battle for power.

Ruto is the leader of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, which is seen as the main challenger to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya. Ruto has been accused of trying to hijack the Jubilee Party in order to use it as a platform to launch his presidential campaign.

Kenyatta’s warning to Ruto is a clear sign that he will not allow the Deputy President to take over the Jubilee Party. The Retired President is determined to ensure that the party remains united and supports his preferred candidate, Raila Odinga.

Uhuru finally addresses stolen sheep!

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has broken his silence on the theft of sheep from his Northlands farm. Speaking at the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference on Monday, Kenyatta said he had chosen to remain silent while the Kenya Kwanza leaders “took advantage” of him. However, he said that his silence had only led to abuse, theft, and the burning of people’s farms.

Kenyatta was referring to the theft of nearly 1,500 Dorper sheep from his farm on March 27, 2023. The sheep were stolen by a group of men armed with machetes and other crude weapons. The theft took place during a protest called by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.

At least 50 of the stolen sheep have since been returned to the farm. The animals were returned to the farm at different times by people who told staff there they did not want to be cursed.

Kenyatta said that he would not be cowed by the theft of his sheep or the other attacks that have been carried out against his supporters. He said that he would continue to fight for what he believes in, even if it meant facing opposition from his political opponents.

“I will not be intimidated,” Kenyatta said. “I will continue to fight for what I believe in, even if it means facing opposition from my political opponents.”

Kenyatta’s comments come at a time of heightened political tensions in Kenya. The country is scheduled to hold general elections in August 2022, and the two main political parties, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya and Kenya Kwanza, are locked in a fierce battle for power.

The theft of Kenyatta’s sheep and the other attacks on his supporters are seen by some as an attempt to intimidate him and his supporters ahead of the elections. However, Kenyatta has vowed to remain undeterred and to continue to fight for what he believes in.

18 of Uhuru Kenyatta’s stolen sheep returned

Uhuru Kenyatta Muigai’s Northlands farm was raided by criminals who were spurred on by the utterances of senior government officials who called for a raid on the former president’s property and this resulted in the destruction of property, theft of livestock and trees as well as arson as these criminals set everything they couldn’t carry ablaze.

Well, he seems to have received scant respite as 18 of his sheep have reportedly been returned. The reason given for the change of heart among the criminals OR the unsuspecting members of the public who bought the sheep is due to the unique marks on the sheep and fear of curses for their actions.

Uhuru Kenyatta's Farm Invaded By Unknown People

Uhuru Kenyatta has yet to publicly respond to either the criminal activities on his farm nor the return of some of his stolen property. Time will tell what his chosen course of action was and this might land a lot of people; both criminals and unsuspecting Kenyans in very hot water.

Uhuru Kenyatta’s Farm Invaded By Unknown People

Any just seems as if the former president cannot get away from losses this week as on Monday his family property at Northlands was invaded and livestock was stolen as the fauna was destroyed with arsonists eventually burning down everything.

It seems to be open season on President Uhuru Kenyatta as the establishment has on several occasions given speeches that have emboldened the criminals responsible for these activities.

The police had also said that they were launching investigations to find out who the masterminds of the attack on the Northlands Farm were. But one has to wonder whether that was pure lip service.

It seems like Uhuru Kenyatta needs to get himself and his properties armed guards because the Sitting government has no interest in protecting his property.

The internet is undefeated! And one of the people who are reaping the rewards of this fact is a man by the name of Peter Kamara was photographed stopping his car and together with his wife, they took a sheep from the Kenyatta farm that was attacked during Maandamano Mondays.

The farm had been raided by several men wielding crude weapons before members of the public were emboldened to join in on the attack and looting going ion before the farm was razed.

The Twitter sleuths shared not just the image of him stealing the sheep but also of his Facebook account and they began mocking him for styling himself publicly as a man of God yet his real life conduct betrays something entirely different.

Do you think the law will take its course against the people involved in the attack on the farm?

“Borrow loans from Ruto instead of China” KOT pleads with president Uhuru to spare Kenya from Chinese debts

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) are fearing Chinese debts will be the end of Kenya as we know it, they want president Uhuru Kenyatta to borrow from his deputy William Ruto instead.

KOT expressed their anger with Uhuru when the president tweeted about China’s $60 billion or Kes 6 trillion kitty for development in Africa.

“China is colonising countries by lending them money they can never repay” City preacher urges Uhuru to open his eyes

City preacher has sent a strong message to president Uhuru Kenyatta as he joined other African leaders in Beijing, China for the 2-day annual Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which kicked off on September 3rd.

Bishop Godfrey Migwi of House of Hope in Nairobi warns Uhuru against taking loans from China, the preacher says China is practicing debt colonization by giving poor countries more money than they could ever pay back.

Migwi highlighted instances where some countries were forced to surrender their assets to China after failing to pay debts. He mentioned Sri Lanka which formally handed over the strategic port of Hambantota to China on a 99-year lease in December 2017 after struggling to replay loans.

The city preacher thinks China is salivating after the ports of Mombasa and Lamu and that they will give Kenya massive loans which the country will fail to pay and in return give up the ports of Lamu and Mombasa.

#whistleblower from a wise person at the tree top ….my advice to Our President Uhuru Muigai kenyatta please be aware of this highly populated country called China, this money (debt) they’re lending to us and the world is a sweet lollipop but later we will be left with kasmall stick after the sweetness is finished, the BEBT for infrastructure the Chinese are using it as tool to colonize us , to take the port of mombasa and other part of the country, it’s a matter of time they will demand a military base in Kenya …..mark this date ..the large part of the world will be under Chinese kingdom the enemy number one of USA, in the bible they’re not mentioned directly but I can tell the world why.

EMPIRE OF DEBT, China is colonising smaller countries by lending them massive amounts of money they can never repay in bid for world domination’

Defaulters have been pressured into surrendering assets and territory or allowing military bases on their land

CHINA is “colonising” smaller countries by lending them massive amounts of money they can never repay but later they must pay by other means

The country is accused of leveraging massive loans it holds over small states worldwide to snatch assets and increase its military footprint.

Countries around the world owe huge sums to President Xi Jinping’s China

Developing countries from Pakistan to Djibouti, the Maldives to Fiji, and Africa at large all owe huge amounts to China.

Already there are examples of defaulters being pressured into surrendering control of assets or allowing military bases on their land.

This is called “debt-trap diplomacy” or “debt colonialism” – offering enticing loans to countries unable to repay, and then demanding concessions when they default.

China has the world’s largest military for in your information, when I was in America one American solder revealed to me that in the whole world they only fear china in matters of war

Owing more than $1billion (£786million) in debts to China, Sri Lanka handed over a port to companies owned by the Chinese government on a 99-year lease.

And Djibouti, home to the US military’s main base in Africa, also looks likely to cede control of a port terminal to a Beijing-linked firm.

Chinese navy officers
Chinese navy officers

America is eager to stop the Doraleh Container Terminal falling into Chinese hands, particularly because it sits next to China’s only overseas military base.

Debt-ridden Sri Lanka’s Hambantota port is which China recently seized

Participating countries like kenya and other’s often undertake work on roads and ports with part-funding from China.

More recently, China’s debt empire has been rearing its head in the Pacific, prompting fears the country intends to leverage the debt to expand its military footprint into the South Pacific.

Beijing’s creation of man-made islands in the disputed South China Sea for use as military bases suggests the concern may be warranted.

China will always defend its lending practices, saying they are “sincere and unselfish”, and will insists that it only lend to countries that could repay. Ni hayo tu Raisi wetu, Kenya na dunia yote

“I make this request as a father to a fellow father” Babu Owino pleads with president Uhuru to listen to the cries of Kenyans

The new fuel prices has increased the cost of living condemning more Kenyans to poverty. The cost of transport has increased and it’s also expected the prices of basic commodities will go up.

National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich implemented 16 per cent tax on fuel even after parliament voted to delay the implementation.

Babu Owino has since written an open letter to president Uhuru Kenyatta after CS Rotich went on with the illegal implementation.

The Embakasi East MP earnestly pleads with the president to reverse the illegal implementation of the 16 per cent tax and save Kenyans from the increased cost of living.

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA ON SOARING PUBLIC DEBT & ITS EFFECT ON ORDINARY WANANCHI

Your Excellency,

I recall vividly that just over a month ago you made the prudent decision to suspend new projects until old projects are completed. While some circles were critical of this decision, as a young Parliamentarian, I welcomed it as a move that would instill discipline in the Executive arm of Government while ensuring tax payers’ money is well spent and accounted for. I also felt that the country had already over extended itself in terms of large capital intensive projects and needed some time to offset existing debt before moving on to new initiatives.

I have since then followed the trajectory of the nation’s financial management over the past few weeks with consternation. I note that during your visit to the US, it was made public that your government is borrowing the sum equivalent of 450 billion shillings for the construction of a six lane highway from Mombasa to Nairobi. I further note that in your visit to China, your government has taken on a further 380 billion shillings in debt for the construction of Phase 2A of the Standard Gauge Railway from Naivasha to Kisumu. This totals close to a TRILLION shillings in new debt in the span of ten days.

During this period, we have seen the Treasury Secretary, Henry Rotich, purport to implement an illegal tax on the people of Kenya no doubt to finance our growing debt obligations. I do not hesitate to call the tax illegal because Parliament voted to amend the Finance Bill and suspend the implementation of the proposed sixteen percent value added tax on fuel. Parliament is the supreme law making organ of the land as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and as such any attempt by the Executive to levy a tax not approved by the August House is both illegal and unconstitutional.

I therefore write to you on behalf of the young people of our society struggling on a daily basis to make ends meet. I write to you on behalf of our mothers, stretching themselves to the limit, to ensure their families do not sleep hungry. I write to you on behalf of future generations, to whom we have a deep and solemn responsibility not to burden with a hopeless future. I write to you in regard of the untimely sixteen percent value added tax on fuel proposed by your Treasury Secretary.

Your Excellency, as a young person and as a leader, I pledged to support you in your efforts to unite the nation and build bridges. I further pledged to help you secure your legacy in your final term as President in the spirit of your Handshake with my Party Leader, H. E Raila Odinga and indeed, in the spirit of our own personal handshake within the precincts of Parliament during your state of the nation address. I therefore take this opportunity to request you to assent to the Finance (Amendment) Bill 2018 and save our people from the difficult times such a tax promises.

We as Parliament have read the mood of the people and realized that the Bill as initially proposed would portend untold suffering amongst the most vulnerable in our society. Our people are already overburdened with the high cost of living. The introduction of such a tax at this time would only serve to make their lives more unbearable.

I make this request as a father to a fellow father, for the sake of our children and our children’s children, let us seek to find innovative ways to reduce public expenditure and wastage instead of raiding the pockets of ordinary wananchi.

I and the youth of this nation look forward to your positive response on this matter.

Yours faithfully,
Hon. Babu Owino,
MP, Embakasi East Constituency,Secretary General Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association &The People’s Watchman.

Uhuru afraid of Museveni? Kenya’s president speaks on the fate of Bobi Wine in Washington, D.C.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had an exclusive interview with BBC’s Zeinab Badawi during his trip to Washington, D.C. where he held talks with US president Donald Trump at the White House.

Badawi pressed Uhuru to address the issue of Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine who was arrested, tortured and slapped with treason charges.

“As well as being president of Kenya you are also leader of a very important country in East Africa and I put it to you that one issue that is in the news very much is the fate of Ugandan opposition MP Bobi Wine. I would like to know whether you have raised his plight with president Museveni, he is now released on bail on charges of treason,” Zeinab Badawi asked Uhuru.

Kenya doesn’t interfere

Uhuru made it clear that he hadn’t raised Bobi Wine’s plight with president Museveni. The Kenyan president stated that his country doesn’t interfere with the internal affairs of other countries.

“Kenya is not a country that seeks to really to interfere with other people’s or other country’s issues. We are a country that encourage democratic processes but we also understand every country has its own challenges. What we would say is that Kenya would like to see is where political competition is allowed without intimidation and we preach that message but we say that where there are differences please let us ensure those differences don’t result in violence, exactly what I said to Raila Odinga. In short ours is to encourage democracy and a peaceful solution to whatever differences may exist. But Kenya DOES NOT interfere just like we are also keen with other people interfering with our own domestic issues, and what we encourage is internal resolution to internal problem,” said Uhuru.

Boniface Mwangi: Jomo Kenyatta and Mama Ngina Kenyatta are thieves, if Uhuru is not a thief prove it

Boniface Mwangi has come out all guns blazing to dare president Uhuru Kenyatta to prove he is not a thief or benefits from corrupt practices.

The daring Rights Activist claims the president is shielding corrupt individuals from his side of the coalition from being persecuted.

“A time comes when the truth must be told. Is the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta , part of the gang of thieves stealing from us? Before you start throwing stones at me, hear me out. All Kenyans agree that the Deputy President William Samoei Ruto is a known land grabber and thief extraordinaire. His name is synonymous with looting. Now, if you look at all corruption scandals over the past five years, you notice that in any theft that involved people from Uhuru’s side of the coalition, the thieves walked scot free – NYS 1, Afya House Scandal, etc,” wrote Boniface Mwangi in part.

It’s all stolen

Boniface further claims all the wealth the Kenyatta’s have made is all stolen. He states that Jomo Kenyatta and Mama Ngina Kenyatta didn’t work hard for their money.

“We all know his father Jomo Kenyatta was a thief, a man who left jail with nothing, but managed to grab over 500,000 acres. The Kenyatta family was involved in elephant poaching and the ivory trade. Uhuru and his mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, have been on the list of Africa’s richest dollar billionaires. None of them worked hard for any of that money. It’s all stolen,” wrote Boniface in part.

No fear, death is for us all

In a separate post, Boniface states that he is not afraid to name and shame corrupt individuals regardless of the consequences. He stress that everybody will eventually die some day.

“People take life too seriously! We shall all die. The thief, the jobless, the president, the activist and the saint, our eventually end is death. Stop fearing death and live your life. Fear is fake! Fear is imagined! Fear is of the devil! Speak Courage Fluently! #TeamCOURAGE for life,” wrote Boniface.

Ladies like me

Owira denies claims that he is a seasoned skirt-chaser. He explains that the fact that women love him does not necessarily mean he is a womanizer.

“I know I am a handsome and God-fearing young man, so you can’t blame me when ladies like me. I just have a connection with people and they love me for who I am. Does that make me a womaniser?” Said Owira.

Owira further reveals that he last met Uhuru two years ago. He says the president is always checking up on him through the Kenyatta Trust.
