The man of ‘One Corner’ fame, Patapaa Amisty has finally opened up on his choice of costume at the 2018 VGMAs.

In an interview with Accra-based Zylofon FM, the Swedru-based artiste revealed that he chose to wear the suit in order to get people talking.

According to the musician, his main aim was to trend on social media to get people to talk about him for a long time.
He added that patrons were even left off the hook because he intended wearing ‘toggers’ to the awards ceremony.

Well, it seems he did achieve his aim because he became a topic for discussion. Patapaa has been on the ‘sewing machines’ of various social media users since his appearance on the red carpet.

However, one thing that Patapaa failed to achieve was to win the Most Popular Song of the Year award. He however lost to his Northern counterpart, Fancy Gadam’s ‘Total Cheat’ song which features Sarkodie.

Patapaa, after missing out on the award was seen storming out of the Accra International Conference Center in anger.

He later accused Charter House of taking “stupid money” to overlook him after Fancy Gadam’s win.

According to Patapaa, the reaction of the audience at the show when the award went to Fancy Gadam proves that he deserved the award.

Last year, Patapaa emerged all of a sudden and took Ghana by storm with his ‘One Corner’ song. The song was highly patronized and enjoyed by both the old and young. It did not only stay in Ghana but tcrossed the borders as well.

One interesting thing about the song was the dance moves that was associated with it. People, both young were seen in various videos exhibiting unthinkable moves all in the name of dancing on the song.
