Charter House Is A Joke – Mr Eazi

Mr Eazi feels some type of way about Charter House.

Nigerian afro-beats artiste, Mr Eazi stated that he rather lose at the Grammy Awards than cry over VGMA. Furthermore, this is because organisers of the event, Charter House are jokers.

Moreover, according to the singer, the scheme is not a well-recognised one. Therefore, he doesn’t have to worry himself over why he won no award at the 2017 edition.

Mr Eazi’s comments about Charter House and VGMA’s

“Charterhouse is full of jokers, how can you conclude that I am not a big artiste when I organized the biggest event (Life is Eazi Detty Rave concert) same year you nominated me for ‘Best African Artiste of the Year‘ category at the VGMA?

If eno sey ebi Grammy wey dem nominate me wey afi say ooh I go fi win this Grammy then if I lose, it’s two things, I will say aah I’m supposed to win this award but I will be a happy boy because I got nominated for the Grammy’s and that’s the Grammy but if it’s some other awards.”

He made these comments on Delay’s show.

Moreover, the host asked why he didn’t perform at the 2017 edition of the VGMAs. He said he was not surprised he lost the ‘Best African Artiste of the Year‘ award to RunTown. This is because Charterhouse wanted him to perform for free.

“They called my manager for me to perform at last year’s VGMAs and I told them I was on tour in the USA and if they can book flight for me to come since they were not going to give me a dime but they couldn’t oblige to that and I had stay off because I had a show that was going to pay me good money.”

Moreover, he buttresses his claim that Charter House are jokers. He stated that he organised a successful show in Ghana which recorded huge numbers. Therefore, for Charterhouse to assume that he is not a ‘big cat’ is unfathomable.

He said at this moment of his life, his only focus is to make his fans happy and make a lot of money.

The NPP Government Recognizes Make-Up And Beauty Industry – Catherine Afeku

Minister for Tourism, Arts & Culture, Catherine Afeku, has assured government’s interest in the make-up and beauty industry in Ghana.

According to her, the government recognizes the industry to be a pivot in nurturing the entrepreneurial skills and talent among the youth.

She underscored that government is aware the beauty industry is one of the most lucrative sectors in the creative arts business.

The 3-days event kicked off at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Wednesday.

The event however coincided with the Ghana Makeup week. This climaxed the whole event with an awards night last Saturday at Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

She assured that government is therefore doing all it can to support and regulate the industry for the betterment of the youth who find themselves in that sector.

The assurance is prior to recent calls by some stakeholders to regulate the industry. This, according to them, is necessary due to the upsurge in the number of make-up artists. The upsurge, they alleged is affecting standards.

“The government of President Nana Addo sees this industry as pivotal to helping bring the entrepreneurial skills and artistic talent of young men and women in this sector. As your ministry, we are doing all we can in terms of policy, guidelines and support to ensure that it is mainstream. It is 60-billion plus industry,” says Mrs Afeku.

“Back in the day when people are selling cosmetology. You were looked down up because they thought you were not scientists, doctors, nurses etc. Today, 21st century, we make more money than those traditional jobs… when you walk around, there are three things I will like you to note: standards, quality and professionalism. It is not everybody that is in the beauty business to make people beautiful. So you need to take time, learn the rudiments and be a professional make-up artist or beautician,” she added.

She also tasked the industry to be ambassadors of made-in-Ghana beauty products. As well as join the fight against open defecation along Ghana’s coastline.

The 2018 Make-Up & Beauty Week, which was organised by Make-Up Ghana with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture. The event brought stakeholders together to help find solutions for challenges affecting the industry.
