Obrafour Reveals What His Greatest Fear In Life Is

Ghanaian Rap icon, Obrafour aka ‘Rap Sofo’ has revealed what his greatest fear in life is.

According to him, his greatest fear in life is to die and miss heaven.

Speaking with host Ohemaa Woyeje on Adom FM’s ‘Work and Happiness’, the ‘Okukuseku’ hit maker said even though he is not absolved from sin, going to hell will hurt his soul.

“If God wants me dead then what can I do? As Christians we believe death has a merit. What I get scared of, is dying and not receiving salvation. That is what I am scared of than anything. We all get scared but I know if it is the work of the Lord it shall come to pass…” he said.

More On Obrafour

Obrafour vehemently proclaimed his belief in Jesus Christ. Stating that he believes Jesus Christ is with him that is why he has survived the trials and tribulations in life.

As a married man, Obrafour accepted that the limelight draws temptations but stated he never cheated on his wife. This he said is because he has the spirit of self control and is always careful.

“Some groupies will come into your life, but now I am a married man so I have to be steady. It is not right to fall for them. There are some instances that you will fall for. I am not an angel but I cannot say that I am proud of that. I have never cheated on my wife. You have to try to refrain from that as an artiste…”

Obrafour is currently promoting his song ‘No Vote’, his ‘Obra fro fro’ album will be released in December.

Real name is Michael Kwabena Okyere Darko.

Some of his songs are Agoro no aso, Kokonsa, Ma mendwen me ho, Asem sebe, Who born you by mistake, Odo, Enye Nyame a, Okukuseku, Oye Ohene, Adefoode, Nyamekye, Obaa bi, Odo amaa, Oyonkour, Mensesa, Monfa nsa, Kae me, Odo nsuo, Aunti Akosua ba, Wote puupuu, Fakye me, African boy, etc.

Obrafour Throws Support Behing Shatta Wale

Legendary Ghanaian rapper Obrafour has waded in the Shatta Wale and Nigeria beef. Obrafuor has thrown his support behind Shatta Wale in his ‘feud’ with Nigerian artist Wizkid.

According to Obrafour, he agrees with Shatta Wale that Wizkid is not a superstar. This is because he did not literally fall from the heavens to be described as a ‘star’.

Obrafour is of the opinion that Shatta was being confident in his strengths.

I don’t think he (Shatta) meant anything bad. Let’s be real. Who are Superstars? Who is a star? Do we have stars among us walking? Are they in the sky?

The ‘Kasahari’ king made these statements on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty.

“In each and every one of us, we are blessed with something. We are privileged. There is no star.

“We all know Shatta Wale, that’s how he is. With his beef with that Nigerian artiste, Wizkid, I don’t think he meant anything bad.”

The Ghana ‘rap sofo” thought the issue has been blown out of proportion. This was done only because people like to attach mischief to harmless statements.

He adviced, “we have to open our minds, if we open our minds, things will be easier for all of us.”or us. Let’s think positive about it.

Someone who spoke on Radio Univers mentioned that Mr Eazi sent GHc10, 000 to cater for the boy’s medical fees. He did this after he heard about the young boy’s plight.

According to the lady who wants to remain anonymous, Mr. Eazi is the only entertainer who has contributed after she made announcement seeking help for Peter Mensah.

Ebony’s Choice Of Costume Is Very Bad- Obour

The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour has condemned Dancehall artiste for her choice of dresses for events.

Obour was speaking in an interview on Joy News On TV.

Obour Speaks

According to the ‘Konkontiba’ hitmaker, Ghanaian Culture frowns on the act of nudity and semi-nudity. He urged the songstress to therefore  always have that in mind when selecting her dresses.

“That [Ebony’s dressing] is very bad. It is very bad.

Popularly called Obour, he further stated that as much as they as a union, try to let the public know that they are in acting role, they also constantly caution their members to be conscious of the moral values of the country.

“Again, in our vein as a union, we will try to let the public know that they are in an acting role”.

He further indicated that “Lady Gaga could wear that same costume and nobody would cry or scream foul about it because the moral values of the country they are in differs from that of the country we are in. And so we are always advising our musicians to be quite decorous in their way of dressing.”

More on Ebony’s Choice Of Costume

Ebony has been brought under a lot of criticsm for her style of dressing by many personalities. A recent one is that of the investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni

The songstress, on the other hand has indicated that she will not stop being herself just to please Ghanaians but will continue to do what she feels is right for her.

She in an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM indicated that her manager even prevents her from exposing too much flesh but left for her, she would have exposed a lot.

‘Nana Addo’s works are evident and most Ghanaians can testify that he has not disappointed as president,’ she said.

Miss Asamoah said she knew very well that he would become president by hook or crook. This is the reason why she continued to follow Nana Addo every time he stood for the presidency.

Not Having Sex With Tracy For A Month Was A Challenge – Sarkodie

Award winning rapper Sarkodie has revealed one of the most challenging times in his life.

According to him, one of the hardest moments he had with his baby mama, Tracy. That was the first month she gave birth to their first child, Titi.

He was advised to avoid any sexual intercourse with the new mum for close to a month. This, he said was indeed challenging for him considering the fact that he could do foreplay without sex.

The rapper, made this revelation when he appeared on Westwood crib session in UK with host, Tim Westwood.

Sarkodie Speaks

“So my daughter came and the first two weeks or one month, I’m not supposed to touch her (Tracy). You are not supposed to do anything and that was like the hardest time. You can (hold her) but you don’t have to let it lead to the main thing (sex) so you need to take a break which is like very very hard.

What I was doing was trying to take my mind off it and trying to do things that can make me focus on something else.”

He also added that Tracy was no help at all. This was because she teased him with dresses which were difficult to take one’s eyes off.

“but this girl (Tracy) keeps coming into the room to pick stuff wearing some stuff that is so hard to stay back. You know the funny thing, you can stay away for three weeks without doing it when you know you are free to do it but when you are told not to do it, that’s when you want to do it”.

Manasseh Azure Inscribes ‘Love Letter’ To Dancehall Artiste Ebony

Manasseh Azure Awuni, an investigative journalist with Joy 99.7 FM and an author has written a ‘love letter’ to rising female dancehall artiste, Ebony, concerning her nudity issues and advising her on better branding as a music artiste.

Portion of the love letter to Ebony reads:

Dear Ebony,

Our elders have taught us that a wise child is not spoken to in plain words but in proverbs. And since it is only a fool to whom a proverb is explained, I could have ended this letter here.

However, I have come to realize, rather painfully, that in this era of Facebook and WhatsApp, the wisest of our generation do not seem to be able to wrap their heads around the simplest of proverbs or the ancient wisdom of speech with which words are woven. So let me add a few lines to the mad women of Kete-Krachi story.

If you’re still wondering who the mad women are, let me tell you another story. It is a story I would tell the youth in my old age. It is the story of two very talented female Ghanaian musicians who were in the limelight at various times in my lifetime. The first one was Belinda Akua Amoah, known in showbiz as Mzbel. The younger one, who came in the evening of Mzbel’s career, was Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, who went by the name Ebony Reigns.

They both had something in common. They were great musicians by all standards, but when their names were mentioned, what came to mind was not their music. It was nudity.

In the year 2017, both musicians made very profound statements about nudity and their brands. When Ebony was criticized for showing her private parts in public, she defended her action on Hitz FM and said:

“I don’t care about what people say about my dresses. People who know me before music know that I can be more nude than what I do at the moment. My manager has even made me tone down because sometimes I pick a dress for a show and he tells me Ghana is not ready for such a dress.”

A few weeks earlier, Mzbel had appeared as a guest on Joy 99.7FM’s Drive Time with Lexis Bill. I could not stop listening to her because I was intrigued by her honesty. There were a few questions she said she did not want to answer, but those she did answer, she was at her usual candid best. She was not a pretending like most “celebrities” do.

When she was asked whether nudity had helped her brand as a musician, her answer was an emphatic no. She said the reality that nudity was hurting her career had dawned on her only five years ago.

“I was just having fun, being myself. I was comfortable. No one around me ever said that what I was doing was wrong. They [people] will criticise me on radio and TV, but then when there is a show with my name on…it is packed,” Mzbel revealed.

Ebony, Mzbel was not told the truth by the people who mattered to her. And it is not different in your case. I read an interview your father, one Nana Opoku Kwarteng, granted Graphic Showbiz in which he defended your nudity and called Ghanaians who spoke against you hypocrites. What your father failed to address was the fact that your nudity is not limited to stage performance.

Recently, I was at the Joy FM reception when you entered and went to Hitz FM. Your loose African-print top was just long enough to cover your breasts. Your tight-fitting pair of jeans trousers was held by an equally tight-fitting belt that accentuated the stretchmarks that decorated your waist.

There is also a video online, which shows your private parts. You were not on stage performing. Two weeks ago, someone forwarded the video and pictures your publicists circulated when you performed at Koforidua Secondary Technical School, and I thought in choosing your outfit, you could have considered your audience even if the headmaster and school authorities were irresponsible enough to allow you to mount the stage in that. One entertainment blog captioned your show, “Ebony ‘sexcites’ students of Koforidua senior high school.”

More On Manasseh Azure’s Letter to Ebony

With the staunch backing from your father, who says he’s your biggest fan, it is easy to see all the criticism by others as nonsense and the critics as haters and enemies of your progress. You may say they are envious of your success. But should you suffer the fate of Mzbel, don’t ever say people never told you the truth. The truth was very loud but you were too intoxicated with unwholesome fame to hear it. And what is the truth?

The truth is that you’re an exceptionally talented musician. The truth is that your voice is great asset and if you have the right guidance and management, you can become a worldwide legend. You can be a Miriam Makeba or a Celine Dion of your own genre and generation.

The truth is that the current storm of controversy and excitement you generate is more about your nudity and not your music. Sex is easy to sell, but it’s like orgasm. Its excitement is indescribable, but doesn’t last long. The truth is that the uniqueness of your voice will live longer than the gracefulness of your body.

Conclusion Of Manasseh Azure’s ‘Love Letter’ To Ebony

Ebony, there are seven hundred and twenty-nine reasons your supporters will give to support the image you’re building. But as a high school drop out who has gone into music, you need longevity. You need to develop your music career and not fade out shortly like we see in this country. You need a brand that will earn you contracts as a brand ambassador for multinationals and international agencies.

The truth is that you need time to focus on music. Being musician is a full-time job. Being a stripper is another full time job. Concentrate on where you have the comparative advantage, which I think is your music.

And anytime you want to repeat what you recently said about your nudity, kindly ask your father to tell you what our elders meant when they said, “The disease that will kill a person first breaks sticks into their ears.”
