We Didn’t Abandon Strika, He Run Away From His Foster Home – Manager(VIDEO,PRESS RELEASE)

The manager of Strika and Abraham Atta has debunked news circulating in the media that Strika has been abandoned to a cruel fate after his role in the Netfelix movie, Beast of No Nation.

News of the child actor, now turned a street beggar went viral on Monday August 21 on social media. According to the reports, Strika is now a beggar on the streets.

However, reacting to this news, Mawuko Kuadzi, who was also one of the casting team members for the award winning movie has rubbished such reports.

In an interview with Zionfelix.com, he revealed that Strika has not been abandoned as per reports.

According to him, the young boy is a truant who keeps running away from his foster home.

“This is not the first time he has run away, he has run away like ten times. Sometimes he comes back and sometimes we find him, we always go after him,” he said

He also stated that Strika’s, real name, (Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye) situation was not new as the lad keeps absconding school.

Mawuko added that school authorities had done their best to keep Strika in school but to no avail.

“There are measures but he finds a way to escape. The school has done a lot yet he still escapes, the last time he signed an undertaking that if he runs away, he should be expelled from the school [yet he absconded],” Mawuko noted.

The manager debunked suggestions that Strika’s truancy could be a result of maltreatment.

He disclosed that the $30,000 the young man made from the 1% Netflix deal was intact in the trust and will be made available to him when he turns 18.

“…So the film sold and 1% ($30,000) was given to him and 1% was given to Abraham, his actually was put in an account with two signees, Joey and Popi, who worked on the film.

The money is still in the account; there is a plan which he knows. The money has not been touched. It is still lying there for him and he has been told when he turns 18 he has the right to the money,” Mawuko revealed.

Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, rose to fame after playing the role of Strika,

a mute child soldier in the award-winning 2015 American war drama film, ‘Beast of No Nation’.

In a press release spotted on the official Instagram page of Mr Kuadzi further addressed the issue in five points.

Mawuko further revealed that Strika is now back at their camp. He also thanked Ghanaians for their concerns raised since the news went viral.
