Ghana, Other Commonwealth Countries Represent On Meghan’s Veil

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, wore a wedding dress designed by Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller.

Furthermore, she walked down the aisle in the silk gown, with a 15ft veil embroidered with flowers of the Commonwealth.

Moreover, she gave a nod to all 53 countries of the Commonwealth into her special day. Therefore, she asked for a veil embellished with the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country.

According to Kensington Palace, Meghan ‘wanted to express her gratitude for the opportunity to support the work of the Commonwealth by incorporating references to its members into the design of her wedding dress’.

About the Flowers on Meghan Markle’s veil

Furthermore, each flower was worked flat, in three dimensions to create a unique and delicate design. The workers spent hundreds of hours meticulously sewing. Also, they washed their hands every thirty minutes to keep the tulle and threads pristine.
