I’m Now Into Full Time Politics – Dzifa Gomashie

Former Deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie announced her retirement from the movie industry. According to her, her focus in on her political aspiration as a Member of Parliament (MP).

Moreover, she stated that

“I don’t act more. Whatever I do now is either John Manama or the NDC”.

She spoke about this during the premiere of a new Ghanaian series. According to her, someone contacted her to act in the movie. However, she recommended Lydia Forson for the role because she (Gomashie) was no longer active.

“I got a call from my niece, Yayra and she said they wanted an actress to play a role. I said I don’t act no more. Whatever I do now is either for John Mahama or the NDC so I recommended Lydia because she is brilliant, talented and opinionated” 

Dzifa Gomashie started her acting career when she joined the talents theatre company. Also, she was the producer of the popular storytelling television series ‘By the fireside’ in the 90’s.

However, former President John Dramani Mahama named her the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture.
