Mariam Owusu-Poku Wins Miss Malaika 2018

The 2018 Miss Malaika finale was over the weekend at the National Theatre in Accra.

It was a keenly contested competition. However, Mariam Owusu-Poku emerged as the winner in this year’s contest.

Mariam is a Business Administration student at the University of Ghana. She beat off stiff competition from nine other contestants to emerge winner.

The judging panel for the 2018 Miss Malaika final was Joselyn Dumas, Jackie Appiah, Naa Ashorkor, James Gardiner and Lexis Bill.

All 10 finalists of the competition took turns to perform. Also, they gave speeches and cat-walked in their elegant dresses to impress the judges.

Therefore, Mariam shined the brightest and was crowned the new queen of the pageantry.

Evelyn also emerged as the 1st runner-up, while Rosetta came in third-place at the 2018 Miss Malaika contest.

The performers for the night included MzVee, Kuami Eugene, KiDi and Wendy Shay.
