How Could I Have Refused An Offer For ‘Odo’ Remix From Davido – Kidi

Fast up-rising act, Kidi, has commented on his collaboration with Nigerian Superstar Davido on his ‘Odo’ Remix.

According to him, he couldn’t refuse a collaboration with Davido when the offer was made by his signee, Mayorkun.

After winning the 2015 edition of MTN’s Hitmaker talent show, Kidi’s musical career has grown from strength to strength. This is to the extent that he’s been able to secure a collaboration with one of Africa’s biggest artistes.

Kidi, born Dennis Nana Dwamena released his hit ‘odo’ in July last year. The track, meaning ‘Love’ became one of the most popular and loved songs in the country that year. It continues to receive massive airplay even this year.

Three months after he released the song, he dropped a remix which featured Davido and Mayorkun.

He further explained that the remix with Davido wasn’t recorded so it can outshine the original as many thought.

“Something I’ve always wanted Ghanaians to understand is, the original was loved by many Ghanaians and we didn’t do the remix to come and overtake what you already love,” he said.

The ‘Say You Love Me’ hitmaker told Joy News’ MzGee that the idea for a remix came about when Davido came to Ghana and expressed interest in being on a potential remix.

He went on to say that it was also an opportunity for him to break into the Nigerian market, which is the biggest in Africa. “…he’s one of the biggest artistes in Africa so you don’t turn down such an offer.

He is a very respectable person and I’m honored to have him on my song. I mean, why not? And it’s also a way to sell myself to the Nigerian market because now, Nigerians play my song every day on radio and on their TV stations. They now know who Kidi is,” he added.

I Used To Perfrom At Ice Cream Joints For Ghc5 Tips – Kidi

Budding Ghanaian Musician Kidi has revealed that he used to perform at Ice Cream joints before hitting the limelight.

According to him he used to be tipped from GH¢5 after performing any song requested by customers at those joints.

Kidi ,born Dennis Nana Dwamena shot to fame after he won the MTN Hitmaker in 2015. He hit the airwaves with his first hit song,’Say you love me’. Since then, he has treated his fans to good tunes such as ‘Odo’ among others.

In an interview with AttractiveMustapha.com, the sensational RnB musician disputed rumours that he achieved the glorious height in the Music industry within “a twinkling of an eye”.

He recounted how he used to sing for live bands and play guitar at Ice-cream joints only to get home and realize fans were just cheering him up with as low as GH¢5 tips.

Kidi believes there’s a break though point for everyone, but one has to start from somewhere.

He therefore advised prospective and up-coming musicians to believe in their passion and hope for a breakthrough.

He called on unity among his colleagues and support from Ghanaians for their own artistes.

Kidi Hopeful Of A Possible Win At 2018 VGMA’s With ‘Odo’

Budding Ghanaian musician, Kidi says his ‘Odo’ hit song deserves an award at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Kidi was speaking on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra.

According to him, the hit song has made a lot of run in the year under review. Hence,  an award at the VGMA would prove that his work and effort in the music industry is appreciated.

He was however quick to add that it would be no big deal even if the song doesn’t get a single recognition at the VGMA.

Kidi’s Speech

“You don’t do music because of awards and if you are an artist who does music purposely for awards, you will never excel rather focus on your vision for doing music. Don’t let awards distract you from doing good music,” he stated.

Nomination is currently ongoing for the 19th edition of the event by Charterhouse Productions Limited, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Festival.

Dennis Nana Dwamena known by his stage name KiDi was born in 1994. He is the young budding Ghanaian R&B musician who won the MTN hitmaker 4 in 2015. He is an alumni of Accra Academy and completed university of Ghana.

Songs such as ‘odo’, ‘Never again’, ‘Say You Love Me’, ‘Drunk’, ‘Bleed’ are to his credit.

I’m A Lover, Not A Heart-breaker – Kidi Slams Womanizing Tag

It is very typical for male celebrities across the world to be tagged as womanizers and heart-breakers, especially if they’re very good looking.

Most of these male celebrities are known not to be able to stick to one partner. Instead, they are involved with several other women just because of their fame.

Whiles it is true for most of them, a few however are quite the opposite and remain faithful to their partners as well.

This was what Kidi faced few days ago during a Q&A session on Accra-based Citi FM’s Facebook page.

The ‘Odo’ crooner, was asked the number of ladies heart he has broken?.

Kidi beautifully answered, “I’m a lover not a heartbreaker boss lol”; perhaps an indication that he loves more than break hearts.

The singer also disclosed that he gets his inspiration from his mother who has been his pillar since he started the music journey.

Budding musician, Kidi, has extended his profound gratitude to multiple award winner, Tic Tac for endorsing him.

According to him, Tic Tac is a legend and he is really humbled by the his endorsement.

“For Tic Tac to say he sees himself in me, during his early stages in music, and expressed confidence in me is all joy and thanks be to God, he expressed.

The ‘Odo’ crooner added that, “I’m honored for Tic Tac to have said he sees himself in me, he is a legend and has done a lot for Ghana music,”

This comes prior to the latter’s continuous endorsement of Kidi and Kuami Eugene for their amazing talent and quality compositions.
