Top Football Stars, Other Celebrities Grace Ghana Football Awards 2018(PHOTOS)

The maiden edition of the F360 Ghana Football Awards took place yesterday, Sunday July 9, 2018 at  the plush Marriott Hotel in Accra.

Several top football personalities and celebrities were there to grace the event.

They include Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe, Aduana Stars gaffer Yusif Abubakar as well as former Black Stars players; Abukari Damba, Augustine Arhinful, Stephen Appiah and John Paintsil, among others.

Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah and his assistant Ibrahim Tanko were there as special guests.

Other celebrities spotted at the event are; Fella Makafui, Rosemond Brown, Moesha Boduong, Prince David Osei, Michy, just to mention a few.

Personalities such as KSM, Stephen Appiah, Azumah Nelson, etc were also there.

The night saw Atletico Madrid and Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey walking home with the biggest award of the night.

The midfielder saw off competition from Swansea forward Jordan Ayew, Richard Ofori of Maritzburg United and Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah to win the Best Player Award.

The 25-year-old midfielder who featured 52 times for Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid was also adjudged best foreign-based player. He was also a key member of the Atletico Madrid team that won the Europa League and finished second in the Spanish La Liga.

The midfielder notched 5 goals for his club in the season under review (2017/2018). He has also become an influential member of the Black Stars with the hat-trick against Congo in Brazaville being the highlight of his superb form for the country.

Former Hearts of Oak skipper, Thomas Abbey won the best home based player award. He beat Stephen Sarfo of Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars’ Daniel Darkwah for this award.

Abbey was Hearts’ top goal scorer with 13 goals and third on the Ghana Premier League goal king chart. The midfielder won four man-of-the-match awards with 15 goals in all competitions.

This was for the Phobians who finished second in the MTN FA Cup.

For winning the Ghana Premier League and making it to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup, Aduana Stars were declared the best team.

Furthermore, the goalkeeper of the year award also went to their goalkeeper, Joseph Addo.
