5 Female Dancehall Artistes In Ghana. Who Is Your Favorite?

Dancehall music is a genre of urban folk music which came out of Jamaica in the mid to late 1970s and is generally considered to be the direct predecessor of rap. The genre, in its most basic form, a deejay toasting (or rapping) over a riddim. Dancehall is also known as ‘bashment’, a term which can refer to either the music itself or a large party where dancehall music is played.

History Of Dancehall

Dancehall gets its name, predictably, from large halls or street spaces where deejays were setting up their sound systems.

As the idea of toasting, rather than just playing pre-recorded songs, became popular, many of the best deejays became household names in Jamaica and eventually throughout the music world. Some of the more popular early deejays were King Jammy, Shabba Ranks and Yellowman.

Heels Or Sneakers?

One can never talk of fashion without mentioning foot wears and foot wears come in different types. They can be High-heeled foot wears or sneakers. High-heeled footwear(often abbreviated as ‘High Heels or simply ‘Heels’) is a foot wear that raises the heel of the wearer’s foot significantly higher than the toes and usually worn by women. Visit an average woman’s closet and you’ll count not less than three heels there.

Sneakers on the other hand are shoes primarily designed for sports or other forms of physical exercise. They’re also known as athletic shoes, tennis shoes, gym shoes, runners or trainers.
However, it looks like heels are fading and are now superseded by sneakers especially among women.

These days, women put on sneakers with any outfit to almost all occasions, be it a straight dress, skirts and blouses or with trousers to the office, church, workplace or party. So ladies, which one are you rocking in- sneakers or heels? Below are picture of a few celebs slaying in their sneakers:
