Shatta Wale Reveals The Source And True Meaning Of ‘SHATTA’

Self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale has finally revealed the real meaning of his name ‘Shatta’ and where he got it from.

Many have for the past years believed the name ‘shatta’ means to destroy. However, it seems the name itself is an acronym which means contrary to what many think.

The ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker took to his Facbook page on March 31 to reveal the true meaning and source of his name.

According to him, the meaning of his name was revealed to him in a dream on March 31, 2018. This day also happened to be a Good Friday, according to the Christian calendar.

Shatta Wale revealed in the post that the name means “Serious Hustlers Always Trust The Almighty”.

His post reads: “GM Today I saw this in my dream …SHATTA S-Serious  H-Hustlers A-Always  T-Trust ❤️ T-The  A-Almighty.”

Background

Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, he was formerly known as Bandana when he started music in the early 2000s.

But somewhere in 2012, he did re-branding and changed his name to Shatta Wale. Those were the times he had a brush with Kaakie and Samini during the 2012 Ghana Music Awards.

Shatta Wale had been nominated for Dancehall Artiste of the Year together with Samini, Kaakie, and others. However, Kaakie emerged winner but Shatta Wale did not accept the results. He felt cheated  and so he vandalized the venue, and this brought him into the media limelight.

That incident collided with his re-branding, and so Ghanaians actually thought that Shatta means to destroy.

That’s not the end as he kept being controversial and ‘Shattering’ things and people, the name was probably thought to befit him.

However, his is  put to rest the many misconceptions about his name. with the announcement of the real meaning of Shatta. Wale has been in the news recently for his ‘beef’ with Stonebwoy.

However, his arch rival and label mate, Shatta Wale was there and as usual, delivered an electrifying performance.

There was a little set back when he mounted the platform though, but Shatta Wale went on to give one of his best performances in history.

Yaa Bonsam Shatta

Background

A section of the public considers Nana Kwaku Bonsam and Shatta Wale as two of the most controversial personalities in Ghana. They have always been making headlines in the media for controversies.

Not long ago, Shatta Wale in a recorded video was praising Kwaku Bonsam. According to him, Nana Bonsam is one of the most powerful men in Ghana.

A year later, he(Shatta Wale) was honored at the IRAWMA in the US, just some few days ago.

Expect ‘Shatta Lipstick’ On The Market Soon – Shatta Wale

Self-acclaimed dance hall King, Shatta Wale has said Ghanaians should watch out for him as he’ll soon drop into the market a lipstick line called ‘Shatta lipstick.’

Shatta Wale yesterday released a long video on Facebook in response to the mockery of his ‘big mouth’ by his critics.

The mockery about Shatta Wale’s big mouth gained traction on social media when rapper Yaa Pono made a diss song titled “Gbee Naabu”, which means, the mouth of a dog, about Shatta.

Since then, Shatta Wale’s critics have been taunting him on social media with the tag Gbee Naabu.

However, it seems the SM King is fed up of people criticizing him for the size of his mouth that he had to record a video to warn his critics.

Reacting to this in a Facebook live video, the award-winning controversial artiste wondered why his lips had become topical on social media.

The ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker did not spare his critics at all as he back lashed and preached to them in the video.

He noted that people are envious of his big mouth. Adding that the ‘plenty’ talk about it has encouraged him to introduce a lipstick brand onto the market.

“Because of my lips, I will start to do lipstick for girls, shatta lipstick, because you people love this lips too much. I have to host a show and name it ‘all lips show’ because my lips do so many things, if you envy my lips please tell me,” he said.

The freedom hitmaker further stated that his mouth is a creation from God and whoever wants such a big mouth should pray to God for one.

“It’s God who gave it to me, so, if you want similar or same, I’ll give you his post office number, write to God, he’ll surely deliver it because if you ask anything from God, he’ll surely give it to you. Just tell God that you want your lips to change like Shatta’s own, he’ll do it for you but don’t envy my own” he stressed.

Your Baby Mama’s Breasts Like ‘1993 Opel Seat Belt – Woman Jabs Shatta Wale

Frankly speaking, many of those who said they didn’t believe it when Shatta Wale promised to be at his best behavior this year are probably not far from right.

We’re now in the third month of the year, yet Shatta Wale once again has topped the headline chart.

However, it looks like he has finally met his Waterloo this time round. It all bores down to the nemesis between Wale and Stonebwoy in the dancehall music genre. Just two days ago, we brought you a report that Stonebwoy said he’s ‘lyrically’ and ‘musicall’ better than Shatta Wale.

Of course, you thought right, Shatta didn’t let it pass, he also replied back obviously.

Shatta in his reply to Stonebwoy took to Facebook and jeered at the latter for his ‘disability’

He wrote;

“Ur one knee pad like kanda overpass n u there saying u be good pass me, eeeeiiii Ewiase!!! Fame make ppl talk like they came from a d***…….why u sef inobe woman deh ur side or u be batty…”

The comment which didn’t go down well with a lady on Facebook, Nana Ama Burniton, saw her pouncing on Shatta Wale.

Nana Ama used the opportunity to diss Shatta Wale and his girlfriend by comparing the breasts of Shatta Michy to that of 1993 Opel seat belt.

“You too your baby mama’s breast like 1993 Opel seat belt. Thank God for plastic surgery but don’t forget plastic melts,” Ama Burniton’s comments read.

Well, we hope you don’t start searching for how the seat belts in 1993 Opel cars really looked like though.

Video: Apologize To Pastors Or Die By Lightening – Prophetess Warns Shatta Wale

A prophetess named Vivian, has cautioned dancehall act, Shatta Wale to apologize for threatening to burn down churches.

The prophetess said she got the prophecy at home and had to leave her village, Adeeso Oden, in the Eastern region to Accra to deliver the message to the dancehall artiste.

According to her, Shatta Wale has poked a finger in God’s eye with his threat to burn down churches. And that he will suffer the consequences if he does not apologize.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM Tuesday, Prophetess Vivian said Shatta Wale has poked a finger in God’s eye. Adding that if Shatta fails to heed the prophecy, he will be struck by thunder as ordained by God.

Not too long ago, dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, cautioned some men of God to desist from prophesying his death or face his anger.

He said if he is alive by December, he and his ‘Shatta Movement’ fans will burn down churches of prophets he described as ‘fake’.

The warning followed a prophecy by a Kumasi-based prophet, Prophet E. K. Mensah of the Christ Vision Prayer Ministry that the dancehall artiste will die before the end of the year.

But in a video he posted on Facebook, Shatta Wale stated that if he is alive by December, he will march with his Shatta Movement members to burn down churches of false prophets.

But Prophetess Vivian, who traveled all the way from Eastern Region to deliver the prophecy, says Shatta Wale has touched the eye of God with his threat to burn down churches.

According to Prophetess Vivian said, even though there are ‘fake’ pastors in Ghana, Shatta Wale’s threat disrespected the generous ones among them. Hence the need to render an apology before time runs out.

She told Andy Dosty that “He has spoken against pastors. God said there are bad pastors but his children are more among them. God says he [Shatta Wale] should come and apologise so that his wrath wouldn’t come upon him. God said he has touched his eye.

“He has offended him [God]. He should come and beg and take back the statement that he will burn the churches. I saw thunder striking his head…” she said.

Shatta Wale Knows I’m Lyrically And Musically Better Than Him – Stonebwoy Brags

It looks like the rivalry between these two dancehall artistes is not ending anytime soon.

Each of them comes out with new controversies everyday just so he can supersede the other.

Whiles Shatta Wale is currently exhibiting his ‘borger’ skills in Chicago, Stonebwoy is also here tooting his own horns.

According to Stonebwoy, he is “lyrically” and “musically” better than colleague, Shatta Wale.

A video sighted on the official Instagram page of blogger Zionfelix sees stonebwoy bragging about himself.

“Shatta Wale can never murder me. He is never lyrically good like me and he knows it. Shatta Wale is never musically and lyrically better than I am. I murdered him in 2010 at Labadi (beach). He knows lyrically, I’m the baddest in Africa.” He told JoyFM ‘s MzGee at the launch of Kafui Danku’s maiden book on Sunday.

Many thought the rivalry and ‘beefs’ between these two will end when they were signed onto the same record label.

However, it looks like things are rather getting more ‘messy’ with each passing day.

That notwithstanding, many Ghanaians are waiting for the day both artistes will give them a ‘collabo’. Well, that might just do the tricks.

Shatta Wale Needs Prayers – Bullet

CEO of Rufftown records, Ricky Nana Agyeman, aka Bullet says dancehall star, Shatta Wale needs help and prayers.

According to him, Shatta Wale needs help and prayers because whatever is happening to him is not good.

Shatta Wale lashed out on Bullet in the wake of Ebony’s tribute concert controversies.

Few days ago, Bullet made a complaint that some artistes were demanding money before they perform at her oncoming musical tribute concert.

Although Bullet didn’t mention any artiste’s name, a section of Ghanaians said they suspect that Shatta was the one making the demands. When the news broke out, Bullet in a series of interviews clarified that Shatta Wale wasn’t the one demanding the money. He even went as far as adding that Wale cannot do that.

Meanwhile Shatta Wale, who’s currently out of the country took to Facebook on Friday(March 16) to lash out at Bullet, calling him a fool. He again called into Peace FM’s Entertainment Review program on (March 17)to throw jabs at Bullet and also called the upcoming Ebony Tribute concert useless.

In reacting to his comments, Bullet said he has observed that Shatta Wale needs help and prayers. He queried why a greater section of the public thought it was Shatta Wale making the demands and not  any other artiste? He noted that, Shatta Wale insulting him is no news at all to him. This he explained is because, if he’s able to insult many big men in the society and even threaten to burn down churches then who is he(Bullet) that Shatta Wale wouldn’t insult?

Bullet speaks;

“He needs help, he needs prayers. We need to pray for him, whatever is happening to him is not good” he said.

He added that “Shatta Wale claims God brought him from the streets. From the streets if God has really blessed you, is that the way to talk?. You should be an inspiration to the youth. You should be an inspiration to the ghetto youth. Whatever you say as someone who’s been blessed from the ghetto should be inspirational.” Bullet noted.

Shatta Wale Slams Bullet Over Ebony’s Tribute Concert, Calls Him A ‘Fool’

Controversial Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has slammed at Bullet over his facebook comment on Ebony’s tribute concert.
In a post on Facebook, Bullet had expressed that some artistes are demanding for money before they perform at Ebony’s tribute concert.

Bullet wrote:

“Some of our Ghanaian artistes are very hypocrite, you came to Ebony’s one week observation because the numbers were there and again it was being telecast live on air so some of you came there to use the platform. “Now you’re asking me to pay you for her tribute concert. I thought you loved her as you claimed on stage at her one week. This is pure hypocrisy. Big thanx to every artistes who has decided to support us. We are grateful.”

However, a great number of  Facebook users at the comment section have linked Shatta Wale to the one. Although Bullet didn’t and has still refused to mention any artistes name.

Again. Bullet had granted a series of interviews, including one on Zylofon FM, that Shatta Wale is not the one Demanding for money.

Shatta Wale, as usual, took to Facebook to lash out at Bullet.  He denied charging to perform at a tribute concert where people would be attending to mourn the dead.

He again added in his post that he was sure Bullet was the one spreading the rumours and that if it is Bullet spreading the rumours, then he is a ‘’fool’’.

Shatta Wale’s Post Below;

“How can I charge to go and perform at a funeral ..where is the happiness and enjoyment at the particular place and time ..Bullet if you are the one spreading rumors like this which I kno u can ….then u fool waaa this Friday..This is not the first time I am hearing this form your camp .. Zylofon is my pride if you kno like go burn the sea .. #champioooon #Zylofon #bossbaker #SM #Storm#SolashEnt #Asuoden #LBE Z 4 #ZYLOFON #ZYLOFONMEDIA #ZYLOFONMUSIC #ZYLOFONSHATTAS.”

Shatta Wale Didn’t Demand Money To Perform At Ebony’s Tribute Concert- Bullet

It looks like this time round, Ghanaians have had the wrong perception about the SM King, Shatta Wale.

Bullet, Manager of the late Ebony Reigns in a Facebook post yesterday made some allegations against some artistes.

According to Bullet, some artistes want to be paid before they perform at Ebony’s tribute concert.

Though he didn’t mention any artiste’s name, some people claimed they suspected no one but Shatta Wale.

For this, many at the comment section of Bullet’s post alleged that the ‘Freedom’ hitmaker was part.

However, Bullet in an interview today on Hitz FM said that his post has nothing to do with the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker.

According to him, Shatta Wale didn’t demand money to perform at Ebony’s tribute and can never do that.

“It is not Shatta Wale. He cannot do that,” Bullet said.

He however promised to name and shame those involved after the burial the late songstress.

Ghanaians Suspect Shatta Wale To Be The One Demanding Money Before Performing At Ebony’s Tribute Concert

We earlier brought you reports on the impending tribute concert for the late Ebony Reigns. The tribute concert, according to organizers is intended at raising money for her impending funeral.

Posters for the concert were released yesterday and we brought you all the stories about it that one too.

We however followed up with a story that the Manager of the late Ebony Reigns, Bullet was lashing out on some artistes who according to him are hypocrites.

Bullet in a Facebook post said some musicians  are requesting money before they perform at the concert. Meanwhile, according to Bullet, these same artistes claim they loved Ebony.

Billed to perform at the concert are some top artistes in the country from all the music genres.

Some of the confirmed artistes include; Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Samini, Yaa Pono, VVIP, R2Bees, Kofi Kinaata, Feli Nuna, Ras Kuuku, Brella, Danny Beatz  and Bosheba.

However, conspicuously missing in the list which was printed on the official poster was the SM King, Shatta Wale. Perhaps, for this reason, many Ghanaians believe that Bullet’s subtle Facebook post was directed to him.

So, even though the CEO of RuffTown record didn’t mention any artiste’s name in his post, a lot of Ghanaians are speculating and mentioning Shatta Wale to be part of the said hypocrites.

The final funeral rites and burial service for the late Ebony will be held on March 24 at the forecourt of the State House in Accra. This will be the next day after the vigil of tribute concert.

Below are some screen shots of the comments;

Shatta Wale Reproaches Stonebwoy Over Donation To Korle-Bu Accident Center

It looks like the bickering and between these two arch rivals is not ending anytime soon as the ‘Beef’ has been heated again. Who?  Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy of course.

Stonebwoy celebrated his 30th birthday a few days ago. As part of the celebration, he decided to make some donations and pay the outstanding bills of some patients. What best place than where he was also admitted some years back when he was involved in a car accident – the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

So Stonebwoy led his Charity team Foundation, The Livingstone Foundation there and they made their donations.

Just this morning, his arch rival and ironically label mate, Shatta Wale has heated the ‘beef’ again. The ‘Freedom’ hitmaker took to his Facebook wall to throw shades at the ‘My Name’ hitmaker.

According to Shatta, it is unfortunate the Stonebwoy pretends to be rich in the eyes of his friends. Meanwhile, he  ignores their needs and give absurd excuses that he doesn’t fancy buying cars for fans and friends like others do.

Read Shatta wrote on his Facebook Timeline below;

“They pretend they have money infront of their friends but anytime these friends ask them to do something for them. They will say chale me my money Ade put into sick people dem a inside for hospitals….and will continue to say things like and I quote “Me anobe like some people weh if dem get money dem go buy cars dash cars Etc…oh that’s good !! but my nigga you deh lie you kno get Foko….False pretender Stop pretending..it’s Friday”.

The rivalry between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has been on-going for as long as I can remember. Ghanaians for once thought it will all be over when Shatta was finally signed onto the same record label with Stonebwoy- Zylofon Media.

It however seems they got it all wrong as the rivalry between these two great talents continues. We eagerly waiting for the day these two will finally come out and say they’ve buried the hatchet though.

Michy, further stated that they are in no hurry to marry and that both of them are comfortable living together as they’ve done for years now.

Michy was speaking to JoyNews’ Becky on the ‘E with Becks’ show.

Shatta Michy

Quizzed further to be more specific with her current relationship status, Shatta Michy gladly labelled herself as the “Freedom” hit maker’s ‘’partner in crime’’.  Adding that even though they are not married, there are other couples out there who are looking up to them and they should. This she attributes to the strong bond between them.

It’s only good news to him and his fans to be finally called back to partake in the biggest awards ceremony in Ghana.

That notwithstanding, Wale has never  been relentless in his music career.

He never disappointed his fans when it came to music as he kept releasing hit after hit songs.

He’s been on top charts continuously for sometime now.

The “Taking Over” hitmaker shared his joy with Kwasi Aboagye on Peace FM’s ‘Entertainment Review’ over his nominations in the 2018 edition of the VGMA.

“I am happy,” he professed!

He confessed how he misses the aura at the auditorium used for the VGMA and his excitement to get back into that mood. Wale was obviously referring to the Accra International Conference Center. This is where the awards ceremony has been taken place over the years.

Shatta Wale in 2013 refused to accept his loss of the ‘Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year’ category to Kaakie.

He has however promised to accept the outcome of this year’s results-whether he wins or not.

Wale again asked his fans to watch out for him as he’s going to record a song about the VGMAs and his comeback.

He also stated that he’s going to record a song about the VGMAs and his comeback.

Shatta Wale has 6 nominations including the Artiste of the year at this year’s VGMAs. He’s competing in this category with Sarkodie, Ebony, Shatta Wale, and Joe Mettle.

Many have been calling on the pair to make peace for some years now.

Rumors of the two finally burying the hatchet began weeks ago when they were caught in a photo together.

The rumors started prior to the signing of dancehall act Shatta Wale to the Zylofon Music family.

Before that, Bulldog, had already been signed as the Artistes and Repertoire Manager at Zylofon media.

Notwithstanding, the media later reported that Bulldog said he was forced to take that photo with Shatta Wale.

Meanwhile, considering the fact that, both are now signed onto the same media house, it’s more than likely for both to be seeing and working together more often.

Yet again, ghaflagh.com has chanced upon another sets of photos of the pair chatting and laughing heartily.

The images, captured by celebrity photographer Kwabena Awuku, of GH showbiz stalwarts Shatta Wale and Bulldog typifying the very aura of brotherly warmth.

In all, many believe their reunion was orchestrated by Zylofon Media boss, Nana Appiah Mensah.

Bulldog, born Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson was the former Manager of Shatta Wale(Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr).

The two had been the best of friends until they became foes in a feud.

None of them was actually able to explain what the feud was all about though.

Ghanaians had no choice than to watch as two great talents fight among each other.

However, with the news of both coming together once again, be sure to get nothing but the best from this pair.

Especially now that they’re both signed onto the same label.
