Two Celebrity Birthday Crash Today

Ghana is blessed on this particular day as two of it’s two great citizens are celebrating their birthdays today, October 17,2017.

A birthday is an occasion when a person or institution celebrates the anniversary of their birth. Birthdays are celebrated in numerous cultures, often with gifts, cards, a party, or a rite of passage. Many religions celebrate the birth of their founders with special holidays. Today Ghana celebrates two great personalities.

Kwabena (born 17 October 1978 in Buabuashie in Greater Accra) is a Ghanaian musician, guitarist,and an accomplished draftsman. His name, Kwabena Kwabena depicts the two vocations he is presently in, first as Kwabena, the draftsman, and Kwabena, the contemporary highlife musician. He emerged after featuring on Kontihene’s 2004 hit, Esi and he featured Kontihene on his own debut hit, Aso.

Kwabena began his early school days at Datus Complex in Bubuashie, Green Hill School in Achimota, and Aggrey Junior Secondary School. He is an old student of St. Peters Secondary School in Nkwatia and is a proud PERSCOBA. He started playing the guitar in church at the age of 14 and he also led the church choir. He then started hanging around Hush Hush studios featuring on various songs. He got introduced to Hammer and later had his music break in 2004,in 2004 when he recorded is debut album ASO. Three of the songs were used in the soundtrack of Sparrow Productions’s The Perfect Picture.Some of his hits include Ka kyere me, Trodom, Adea waye me, Fakye me, Me ne woa, etc. He released his second album Dabi which was also a massive success and hailed by many musicians. He has since been one of the best High life artistes winning awards in Ghana. He was born on October 17, 1978 and turns 38 years today.

 

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale attended Winneba Secondary School and during that time he was popularly known as ‘DOGGY’. He changed his name to “Bandana” after senior high school and released the hit track “Bandana from Ghana”. The song made tremendous air waves in the Ghanaian music industry in 2004. After the release of his first Album titled Bandana from Ghana,  Bandana went into musical hiatus until he re-branded himself to Shatta Wale and released his hit song Dancehall King in 2013. He has since never disappointed her fans as he keeps releasing hit after hit song. He was born on October 17,1984 and turns 33 years today.
