Various Reasons For Kofi Kinaata’s Move

Ministry of Arts, Tourism And Creative Arts To Launch Television Channel – Catherine Afeku

Exciting times are ahead for the tourism industry in Ghana.

The Ministry of Arts, Tourism and Creative Arts will be launched soon. The television channel is going to show made-in-Ghana products, the rich culture and tourist sites.

The Minister, Catherine Afeku, says showcasing Ghana’s rich culture and tourist sites to the world will help boost the performance of the economy.

Over the years, tourism has not been given much attention. However, this initiative by the Ministry will help in the renovation and maintenance of the numerous tourist sites in the country.

The sector Minister, Catherine Afeku revealed this in an exclusive interview with Citi Showbiz. She said this at a symposium organised by Black Star International Film Festival.

Words By The Tourism Minister

“We have a lot of creative content. Also, we are competing with a foreign country which is saturating our media platform. So 9 months ago, I came up with a concept that we need an outlet for our creative art people.

It didn’t come easy. However, we finally have our license. This will give a platform for our festivals, the music, and the shows that never get airtime. That is what the TV is all about.

“Under our democratic dispensation, it is not possible to censor movies like some have been calling for. What we can do is to find creative ways to make local content competitive and commercially viable and that is what my Ministry has set out to do.”

Hopefully, this move by the ministry will be helpful for the industry as a whole.

5 Ways To Use Sugar Without Eating

Sugar is necessary to everyone. It is a kitchen staple. However, sugar can actually do a lot more than just satisfy your sweet tooth.

It can be used from beauty treatments to fighting grass stains.

Check out the various ways to use sugar around the house.

Uses for Sugar

Healing wounds

Sprinkling sugar on bedsores or ulcers before cleaning and dressing can help kill bacteria that prevents healing. Bacteria needs moisture to survive, and sugar draws water from the wound. A study showed that sugar was effective in curing painful infections.

Cool a burning tongue

The next time you burn your tongue (or eat something too spicy!) suck on a pinch of sugar or a sugar cube to help quickly relieve the sting.

Body scrub smoother
Sugar is a wonderful exfoliating agent for body scrubs. Make your own simple body scrub by mixing sugar with oil (coconut oil, almond, jojoba or olive) to create a loose paste. Gently rub on your skin and then rinse off in the shower.

Make lipstick last longer
Sprinkle a little bit of sugar on your lips after applying lipstick, wait a minute, then lick it off. The sugar draws moisture from the lipstick and will extend the color.

Fight grass stains
Combine sugar and warm water to create a thick paste; apply directly to the grass stain. Let the mixture sit on the stain for about an hour or two, then wash the garment as usual.

Eliminate cooking odors
To rid your kitchen of cooking smells, “burn” some sugar in a pan. Cook it to the point of medium dark caramel color, when the aroma still smells sweet. Caramel is a natural fragrance.

Feminism Should Focus On Empowerment And Not Just Men Bashing – Anita Erskine

Anita Erskine has spoken out against the new wave of feminists. These feminists believe they are at war with men. She argued that feminism is more about empowering women than tearing down men.

Anita Erskine made these statements on ‘Keeping It Real With Joselyn Dumas’.

Recently, feminism has become the center of a lot of discussions in Ghana. This is due to the new breed of feminists who are taking on society in their bid to fight for women’s empowerment.

However, this movement has brought about a separate issue.

The topic at the center of discussion was ‘Are Women Our Own Enemies?’

Erskine opined that feminism was a positive concept. It centred more on a woman and her beliefs and abilities rather than looking to cast blame on men as the cause of everything wrong with women.

Furthermore, Erskine said she would unequivocally describe herself as a feminist. However, she does not see it as a reason to hate men.

Statement From Anita Erskine About Feminism

“I love being a feminist. A feminist is someone who understands the basis of her beliefs, who is eager to teach another generation of women the rights and wrongs. A feminist is someone who is not afraid to share no matter what.”

“I don’t like how everybody gets up and calls themselves a feminist. A feminist is not someone who hates men. It’s like the moment they hear you’re married then you’re not a feminist.”

Joselyn Dumas agreed that feminism lies in empowering women and not tearing down men. Meanwhile, the second guest, Christine Kastner said the combative nature of the radical brand of feminists tick men off to the whole prospect of women’s rights.

“The thing is the women give that [negative] idea [of feminism] and even the men don’t like the sound of that.”

Renowned sound engineer and producer, Appiah Dankwah, aka Appietus has called on all members of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to be blistering and have their names recorded in the voters list before 2019.

The multiple award winning producer added that Obour’s administration has put out new strategy ahead of voting. This strategy, according to him will limit many members to vote for a new MUSIGA President in 2020.

According to Appietus, during Obour’s second term election, only 150 were allowed to cast their votes thereby  disenfranchising many members.

Owusu Bempah Is Fake – Afia Schwarzenegger

Broadcaster and comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger has bewrayed that Rev. Owusu Bempah is a pathological liar and deceiver.

According to her, the known ‘Prophet of God’ always uses information people provide him to create prophecies. This she says is to make people believe that he is powerful.

Afia referred to an instance where she once paid the Prophet a visit. In the course of their conversation, she told the Prophet that Prophet Obinim hails from the Volta Region and was called Kojo Edem.

Another Prophet called ‘Computer Man’, according to her was the one who disclosed this information to her.

Afia mentioned that a day after her visit she heard the “Man Of God(Rev. Owusu Bempah)” on Accra-based Okay FM  ‘prophesying with the information.

According to her he ‘prophesied’ that God had told him Obinim is an Ewe and he was called Kojo Edem before he changed his name to Obinim.

Meanwhile, she was the one who told the Prophet this and she’s not God.

‘The next day, I heard Owusu Bempah on Okay FM Prophesying that God had told him that Obinim is a Voltarian. I told him that and I’m not God,” she said.

Rev. Owusu Bempah, before Afia’s marital saga, had prophesied that her marriage was going to hit the rocks soon.

According to Afia Schwarzenegger, she was the one who again confided in the Prophet and told him her husband has been beating her. Based on that she told the Prophet that she will quit the marriage.

Only for the ‘Man of God’ to be heard later prophesying that her marriage will fail on radio.

Aside this, she stated that it was the same Rev. Bempah that advised her to quit her marriage.

She cautioned Ghanaians to be weary of hungry prophets who take information from people and lie to the public that they are prophesying.
