the audience agog.

Manifest and Sarkodie

Manifest and Sarkodie in 2016 embroiled in one of the biggest rap beefs the country has ever witnessed.

After Sarkodie released his ‘Bossy’ track, M.anifest who could not fathom why Sarkodie used

his name “in vain” replied with ‘godMC’. As industry persons argued over whether or not it was

necessary for M.anifest to jab Sarkodie, the BET award-winner replied the ‘godMC’ track with ‘Kanta’.

Interestingly, political talk shows even focused on the feud because it had become the talk of town.

As reported by GhanaWeb TV, M.anifest had this to say after the show:

“Before we went onto the stage, I think we sat in his car and I think we talked about an hour or more as musical comrades. It’s always been mutual respect so I think we had to show it to the people”.

Calling the ‘beef’ he had with Sarkodie a competitive rivalry, M.anifest stated that history has been made with his re-union.

He added: “A lot of people thought because of the competitive rivalry we had they didn’t realize the mutual respect we have for each other.

Even before we went on stage we spend a lot of time talking, just having a conversation because we both have respect for each other. And we just thought that this would be a great moment to show people that and we did.

“I think we made history together, we both have mutual respect for each other… I miss what people thought was such great ‘beef’. It’s just a competitive rivalry, there is nothing.

“We didn’t plan it like years ago, people thought it was orchestrated, we met recently and we had a quick conversation about it and big ups to the brethren for honoring his word.”

Other artistes who performed at the event were Simi, Burna Boy, Kwesi Arthur, King Promise and Efya.

Ghanaians Are Not Smart Enough To Understand Hip-Hop Music – EL

Rapper and and Afro-beat artiste Elom Adablah, best known as EL has stated that

Ghanaians are not smart enough to understand Hip-hop music.

has stated that Hip-hop does not have a future in Ghana

This, according to him is because Ghanaians are not smart enough to understand Hip-hop music.

He went on to emphasize that this generation of Ghanaian artistes have no business pursuing

hip-hop music because the genre has no future in our part of the world, adding;

“I don’t think hip-hop is our identity as Africans, it’s not.”

The ‘Koko’ hitmaker, made the shocking statement during an interview with host

of Drive with the Area Gang show, Elvis Crystal on Pluzz 89.9 on Friday, December 21, 2018

to promote his latest single.

Speaking about his introduction into Ghanaian music as a rapper, EL disclosed that

hip-hop has not been very good to him as far as his music career is concerned.

He therefore described those days with Skillions hip-hop group as;

“A group of kids playing around with mics following the likes of Jay Z but in

hindsight, it was a waste of time.”

The rapper further disclosed that he is done with hip-hop music explaining that he is more

mature and self-aware now to understand the importance of self-identity which is why

creating Afro-beat music is what makes him truly happy now.

He also bemoaned how most artistes are doing the same thing lately and proceeded to take a

swipe at many of today’s rappers who he describes as unoriginal, making it easy for just

about anybody without talent to become a hip-hop artiste.

He cited Worlasi as one of the very few artistes creating original music lately.

The ‘Kaalu’ hit maker added that he isn’t surprised that viral acts like Patapaa and Supa made

it big and are regarded as artistes although many have questioned talent.

El believes we will see more of such acts because that is what Ghanaians are into.

He however advised that we enlighten ourselves and put more effort into making quality

music as being done by our Nigerians neighbors.

“We need to enlighten ourselves more. Nigerians are doing it. Name me one Nigerian artiste who makes music as mediocre as what we have now and actually is recognized, it’s not,” he queried.

Meanwhile, EL founded his own record label, V.O Nation earlier this year.

Although the label is yet to be officially launched, the singer and producer assured all

music lovers to look out for amazing stuff from the V.O Nation next year.

Shatta Wale Comments On Stonebwoy’s #FillTheDome Concert

28th December should probably be termed judgement day for Ghana’s dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebowy.

The two rivals are bringing down their major concerts on the same day and Ghanaian’s can’t think far.

Whiles Stonebowy’s ‘Bhim Concert’ is scheduled for the same day, so is Shatta’s ‘Thanksgiving Concert’ after a successful ‘Reign Album’ launch.

Since Stonebowy was the first to release the said date for his show first, many believe Shatta is at his best to belittle the Bhim Nation boss.

Though Stonebowy is still 100% certain that he can fill the Fantasy Dome with his concert, Shatta believes otherwise.

Meanwhile, the SM boss in a latest tweet has commented on the upcoming Bhim concert

and it’s nothing as usual but mockery.

Shatta Wale in a latest tweet has shared a flyer for Stonebwoy’s #FillTheDome.

The multiple hit factory commenting on the Bhim Concert by the ‘Top Skanka’ crooner

shared an artwork with DKB and wrote;

“The management of Shatta Movement Empire has given out Ghana’s no. 1 MC on ONE SEASON LOAN to @stonebwoyb #BhimNation to host their concert.

Yo @dkbghana when you finish come straight to the training camp!

Else you go hear your borborliborbor ”

Well, we sure do hope the scores will finally be settled after 28th December.
