Africa Must Change Perception About The Arts – Cwesi Oteng

Ghanaian Gospel musician Cwesi Oteng has asked Africans to reorient their perception about the arts.

The ‘I Win’ singer spoke at the Inspire Conference organised by J-Force, an institution aimed at

producing a global mass movement of young people who pursue building unique leadership capacity based on the values and principles of Christ.

After speaking at the programme which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre on February 23, 2019, he shared his experience on Twitter.

“I spoke at the @JFORCEOFFICIAL, on Africa’s music, the global space and national development. Africa must begin to change our perception and appreciation of the arts,” he tweeted.

He however added that is is high time musicians in Africa aimed for the world stage.

“The new African musician must see the globe as their environment or village, not their home. Now is the only time,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Cwesi Oteng recently presented his new album ‘Anthems’ to the President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.

He is however popular for songs like ‘God Dey Bless Me’, ‘Kabiyesi’, ‘Next in Line’, ‘Yahweh’, among others.

Stop Questioning Why I Don’t Own A Car, It’s Not Force – Yaw Dabo

Ghanaian actor, Yaw Dabo talks about his possessions. Moreover, he revealed that in his books, owning a car is a luxury and not a necessity. Therefore, all the people who consistently questioned him on his should cut him some slack. He stated that people ask that anytime they see him go on board a public car

Furthermore, he quoted some portions of the scripture to make his case on why he thought a car was not really a necessity for him. The actor made the point that the Bible states that earthly wealth is to the benefit of believers. However, it is not the supreme motive of man.

He made these statements on the latest episode of Celebrity Ride show. Also, he added that recently his manager, Kofi Asamoah indicated that he wanted to buy a car for him. However, he declined the offer because he felt it was not time for him to own a ride yet.

According to him, every height one reaches in the entertainment industry has some peculiar eyes that begin to monitor the individual’s movement and as a result, his strong belief that the time is not ripe. He was, however, quick to stress that the people should not be too surprised when they see him cruising in a new baby very soon because with God all things all possible.

Patience Nyarko Threatens To Sue NPP

Gospel musician, Patience Nyarko talks about her legal issues with the ruling party. Moreover, she threatened legal action against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for using her song at its delegate congress. According to her, they used her song without permission.

She made these statements on Adom’s entertainment Hall on Adom FM. Furthermore, she stated that they used her song without consulting her management.

“I got a hint that NPP used my song during their congress without my consent where the MC being an active member of the party, Lord Commey, declaring ‘Obi Nyanime” song as the official song for the event which borders on copyright…” 

The host asked her what her next line of action was. This is if they don’t hear back from the party. She stated that then they would go to court.

“The reason is that I think about my fans, we first considered what the party discussed with us to make peace but they think they are big and that they can just take someone’s property without thinking about the person”

Also, she revealed that her management wrote officially to the General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, Chief of Staff Tourism minister. However, there were no results.

“People think I have sold the song to NPP, it is very difficult for people to believe me when I ask for loan from them because they think I have taken money from NPP. Nobody has given me anything, they took the song without my consent”

“It’s not right, it’s a big offence for using someone’s intellectual property without the person’s knowledge and I believe that NPP is a big party which understands all these legalities so I’m hoping for the right thing to be done or go to court for redress”

Furthermore, they contacted the deputy General Secretary of the part, Lawyer Obiri Boahene. He apologized on the party’s behalf for the mistake. Also, he added that, the management should exercise patience for the matter. This was better than discussing it on air.

Kwasiey Pee Apologizes To Ghanaian DJ’s And Presenters

Highlife musician Kwasiey Pee has rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaian DJ’s, Presenters and industry players.

The singer on Sunday 24th February 2019 organized a meet and greet session with Ghanaian

DJ’s and Presenters at his apartment in Accra.

Present at the gathering include DJ Ashmen, Dj Fletch, Dr Can, among other top-notch DJ’s and

presenters as they shared their thoughts and take about brand Kwasiey Pee.

According to Mehia Odo, hitmaker;

“there’s some perception about brand Kwasiey Pee as an artist some of the Disk Jockey [DJ] didn’t want to play Kwasiey Pee music because they taught he was supposedly arrogant”.

He added that: “I want to sincerely apologise to all Ghanaian DJ’s, presenters, colleagues, industry players et al”.

The CEO of New Era Production [Kwasiey Pee] when asked what lead to this initiative? He averred that:

“well, i believe this is the time to reconcile and make peace with our DJ’s Presenters and industry players in the Ghanaian entertainment industry”.

Currently, managed by Nana Poku Ashis former manager of Kwabena Kwabena, Kumi Guitar, Ofori Amponsah for his part, pleaded with presenters and DJ’s to accept Kwasiey’s apology and should grant him the necessary airplay he needs as an artistes.

Having Children Is Not My Priority – Wiyaala

Ghanaian International performing artiste, Noella Wiyaala has revealed that having children is

not one of the many things on her bucket-list now.

The songstress, who has been married for close to five years  now in an interview on the Delay Show on Sunday, February 25,  said;

“I am not yearning for children at all. I have been married for four years and having children is the least of my worries.

“Children are not like teddy bears you can play with and throw away when you are tired of them, they become part of you. I need to think through before making that decision.”

Asked if her husband is in support of her decision, Wiyaala said he is an understanding man

who always wants her to have her way.

“I have discussed with my husband about children and he says he is in support of anything I want. If I want children fine and if I don’t he is cool with it.

“Maybe my mother is the reason I might have a child because I know she loves children and she would love for me to have one,” she said.

Away from childbirth, Wiyaala, who doesn’t wear a ring said she does not need to wear it for

people to know that she is married.

According to the 32-year old singer, once her husband is cool with her not wearing a ring, she

doesn’t really care what anyone says.

“I have an understanding man who doesn’t care about what people say about me but always makes sure I am happy. We understand each other and I believe that is the reason we flow,” she said.

Moreover, the host asked about the emotional and sexual relationship between her and AMG rapper, Medikal since they started their relationship. She stated that it was difficult.

According to the entrepreneur, life in its actual sense is not an easy one. This is because whenever an individual begins any journey, a lot of bumpiness comes along. However, you don’t give up but just soldier on as a true fighter. Furthermore, Fella stressed that she never expected to have it easy when they started their love journey. Therefore, she is very okay with some of the troubles that come their way.

Also, she clarified that they consider themselves as a family now. Therefore, they don’t have petty problems. She added that the problems they have had so far have been with the media, some fans and a section of the society.

I See Nothing Wrong With People Who Have Dreads – Joe Mettle

Multiple awards-winning Ghanaian gospel artist, Joe Mettle has said that he sees nothing wrong with ‘Rastafarians’.

According to the musician, he has no problem with other gospel artistes having dreadlocks or

other peculiar hairstyles.

Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo Drive’, the ‘My Everything’ hitmaker stated that;

“there is nothing wrong with someone having a Rasta hairstyle, it is just that our culture does not condone it that much”.

He also added that, “Christianity is faith-based and people may choose to have any hairstyle

of their choices, though Ghana has her own culture, and we are all expected to live by these

culturally defined norms”.

 “We have the right to do all things but not all things are right”, he said.

He, however, stated that, it may not be necessarily sinful to have Rasta hairstyle or a peculiar

haircut, but it can serve as a distraction to other people.

“This is because musicians serve as role models to their fans. In such cases, other young Christians can also spot the same hairstyle and may even overdo it”.

He further noted that, “peculiar haircuts are spotted by most gospel artistes in Europe and that is accepted because their culture permits it, it resonates with them and their messages are sent across without distortion, and that does not make them sinful. If we also want to practice same, then we should be wary about them because of where we come from”.

Nadia Buari Reveals How Rich She Is(VIDEO)

Awards-winning Ghanaian movie star, Nadia Buari, has opened up on some aspects of her life.

The very private Buari was on  the latest episode of Yvonne’s Okoro’s ‘Dining with Cooks

and Braggarts’ show monitored by Ghaflagh.com on Saturday, February 24, 2019, on TV3.

Nadia appeared as guest together with a brother, Majeed Buari, and they made a dish of coconut cake.

The host, Okoro, engaged her in a long conversation, and one of the questioned she asked Nadia was “Are you rich?”

In response, the beautiful light-skinned actress remained silent for a while and then said: “I am very comfortable.”

According to her, she had a roof over her head, food on her table and what to wear, therefore,

she is very comfortable with what she has.

Nadia stressed that she would never say she is rich, but with whatever she had, she was very content with life.

movies, Nadia disclosed that she gets more contracts from Nigerian than from Ghana.

She explained that it is not by choice that she appears in more Nigerian movies than Ghanaian,

but it is because producers there approached her with more scripts.

Nadia further revealed that she loves to play roles that are extremely challenging, and not

always to be seen as a lover girl or someone whose heart was broken in a movie.

It is clear that Nadia, who surprised Ghanaians with news about how she gave birth to four

children in three years, really loves to live a simple life.

No wonder she is admired by many and counted as one of Ghana’s respected celebrities.

Many Christian Marriages Are Collapsing Because Of Lack Of Romance – Gospel Musician

Television presenter cum Gospel musician, Mavis Asante has
urged Christians to spice up their relationships to prevent them from going down the gutters.

According to her many Christian marriages collapse due to lack of romance.

Mavis in an interview with Mr Lattus on Akonoba FM’s Entertainment Court program  noted;

“Many Christian marriages are collapsing because of dull partners or
unromantic partners. Some people see you as an agent for Satan when
you talk about romance in marriages

“We have to start teaching this…It is not bad to flaunt your husband
or wife. Tell him or her sweet things that will make the person happy.
Showing off your husband or wife symbolizes that you are happy to have
them in your life.”

“Do new things to freshen up what you are in. We have to spice up our
relationships.” 

Mavis stressed that it will be difficult for marriages to collapse if partners cherish the gift given to them by God and do the needful.

According to her, many women groups in the various churches are not able to do hardcore teachings on s*x.

“Though women fellowship groups are doing whatever they can, they have
to say some of the things they are teaching in plain words,” she
stated.

She also called on parents to teach their children about the disadvantages of having s*x at an early age.

Young Rich Threatens D Black and Stay Jay Over Stolen Song

Ghanaian musician, Young Rich shares his grievances about D Black and Stay Jay. Moreover, he described an apparent approach by colleagues D Black and Stay Jay to outsmart him and take the spotlight.

Young Rich accused D Black of stealing the concept of his song ‘Di Me Ruff’ for his newly signed act, Ms Forson. Also, Stay Jay did same for Sharon Stone.

He made these statements in an interview with DJ Premier on Accra FM. Young Rich who released his song in on September 19, 2018 vehemently chastised the rappers for the ‘unfair treatment’ meted out to him.

“Ms Forson also recorded a song with same title and even picked some of my lines without my consent” 

“They’ve been doing this to some up and coming acts and the practice kills the talents of these young folks. They may be thinking I’m nobody but I can say on authority that when I started music, D Black hadn’t even thought of doing music.”

“I recorded an album in 2006. When did he [D Black] record an album? Sharon Stone also has a song like that which features Stay Jay. Stay Jay is my friend. Actually, he’s the first person to have commented that the song is a hit when I shared a link. So he knows about the song.”

Young Rich mentioned that he was furious because a similar experience some years ago affected his music career, hence, he will not tolerate another.

He said:

“I lost my producer because of the same treatment. Kwaadee took a line from my song when we were at Morris Babyface’s studio. It hurts. They are warned. They better get something tangible to tell me, else I will unleash the venom in me.”

Willie Roi Rejected Jesus Christ – Papa Shee

Former Hiplife musician now evangelist, Papa Shee, has made a shocking revelation about the deceased A&R manager of the defunct Zylofon Arts Club, Willie Roi.

According to Papa Shee, Willie Roi rejected salvation from God before his untimely death.

Speaking with Neat FM in an interview, Papa Shee disclosed that he tried his possible

best to win the soul of the legendary record producer for Jesus Christ but he mocked him.

The “Atadwe” singer continued that he believed Willie Roi’s recalcitrant character led him

Papa Shee noted that he wished Willie Roi had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal

saviour before kicking the bucket .

Willie Roi gave up the ghost at his apartment at the Royal Richester Hotel at East Legon in Accra on Sunday February 10, 2019.

He was found dead with blood oozing out of his mouth. The cause of his death his however yet to be established.

Evangelist Papa Shee exposes Delay

Former hiplife musician turned minister, Evangelist Papa Shee talks about Delay. Moreover, he revealed that television presenter, Deloris Frimpong Manso interviewed him on The Delay Show several months ago. However, she refused to air it for reasons best known to her.

He made these statements in an interview on “Entertainment Ghana” on Neat 100.9 FM. Furthermore, Papa Shee disclosed that Delay interviewed him about four months ago. Also, she promised to air it specifically on December 24, 2018. However, she refused to show his interview till date because the interview didn’t go in her favour.

According to him if he said something negative that would make her show trend, she would have quickly posted it on social media for views. However, because he preached the word of God in the interview, Delay deliberately refused to air the interview for her personal interest.

Therefore, he challenged Delay to air the interview as she promised.

Kwaku Gyasi Reveals How He Has Been Relevant In Music Business For A Long Time

Award-wining ace gospel artiste, Kwaku Gyasi has divulged his secret on how he has been able to stay relevant in the music scenes for this long.

The entertainment industry has for a while now been a place where one easily fades away with passing time.

“I think it is by the Grace of God. It is not something that I have expertise in too much…If God gives you the grace, whatever you do becomes fresh in the eyes of people,” he told Mr Lattus on Akonoba FM’s Entertainment Court program.

Commenting on why he does not rush to release new songs, Kwaku said:

“In this music business, by God’s grace, if I want to release music every week, I can…but if you using God’s name to work, you need to wait on God’s time. God’s time is good timing. You don’t have to do what the masses are doing…If you ask directions from God, he shows you the right time to come out.”

“Many people will like to hear from you frequently but I always wait on the Lord to direct me…I always go the Lord’s way and not what everybody is doing. When the time comes and God wants me to deliver the message to the whole world that is the time I come out to
deliver,” he added.

Kwaku Gyasi further indicated that it is his prayer for God to give people long life so that they can praise him.

Gov’t To Liquidate NAM1’s Assets To Pay Customers- Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta talks about Menzgold CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah. Moreover, he revealed that government will liquidate the assets of the company to repay the deposits of the clients of the company. He revealed this during an interaction with officers of the Ghana Armed Forces at the Burma Camp.

According to him, the government is in the process of liquidating properties of NAM 1 to pay customers. This is over GH¢200 million.

“I think we have come up with the realisation that maybe over 200 million… is outstanding… He [Nana Appiah Mensah] has been apprehended in Dubai and I am sure a committee will be put together to see how to liquidate and whatever it is that can be found can be given to those who gave money” 

However, he stated that government won’t spend money on issues of unlicensed businesses such as Menzgold.

“But, government is not going to be spending for issues of this nature. We were very clear that they were unlicensed. Therefore, you know the risks that you took”

Furthermore, the Finance Minister’s explanation was in response to an appeal by some soldiers. These soldiers invested in Menzgold and used the opportunity to call on government for help.

I Lost 450 Songs To Armed Robbers- Guru

Ghanaian musician, Guru talks about an unfortunate incident that happened to him. Moreover, he revealed that he lost 450 unreleased songs to armed robbers.

He made these statements to DJ Reuben on Kumasi-based Luv FM. According to Guru, he explained that all 450 songs were on his phone. He saved them there

According to him, this unfortunate event inspired him to release a new song daily for the entire month of February, 2019.

Already, he shared with his fans a while back on Twitter about this decision. Also, he said that it was better for them to enjoy the music than to loose them to an armed robber.

Guru has been in the music industry for about a decade now. Some of his hits include “Lapaz Toyota”, “Pooley”, and “Samba”.

Efia Odo And Counselor Lutterodt Exchange Words At Okay FM

Actress and TV host, Efia Odo gets into it with controversial counselor, Counsellor Lutterodt. Moreover, they literally got into a fight inside the Okay FM studios.

However, there is no real reason behind the fight. Furthermore, in the video Lutterodt was quite harsh on Odo. He made all manner of pronouncements on her.

Furthermore, in the video, Efia Odo questioned why the media gives Counselor Lutterodt the time and platform to say all manner of things about people.

According to Edem, it is difficult to live extremely good in Ghana as a musician. Therefore, one must look out for ways and means to double the figures. Movie producer, Samuel DeGraft Johnson has spilled more secrets about actress and entrepreneur, Fella Makafui.

The producer used to be cool with Fella until she called him a fraudster for choosing

‘Kakalika Love’ as the title of a movie Fella was featured in without her consent.

Samuel, who seems hurt by insults Fella hurled at him has since not missed an opportunity to

also attack and demean Fella more whenever he gets the chance.

grown worse of late but it does not really surprise him because, at a tender age, she was sleeping with married men.

When Sandra asked Samuel Degraft Johnson if Fella Makafui had the huge plantation at her

backside when they met, the movie said it was even bigger but has now reduced because of her “foolish lifestyle”
