An Empowered Woman Knows Her Health Status – Gifty Anti

Ace Broadcaster, Oheneyere Gifty Anti has advised all woman to take their health issues seriously.

The feminist, has shown that apart from God and miracles, taking proper care of ones health is very important.

After going for her yearly checkup, she decided to advise women on the importance of knowing their health status.

According to her it is essential for every woman to know her health status. This she said can be achieved by going for thorough medical checkups at least once in a year.

Gifty Anti again added that though going for these checkups may sometimes be uncomfortable and expensive, it is worth it.

According to the women advocate, gone are the days of ignorance. Knowledge is now absolute power.

“So today, I went for my yearly medical check up. Thorough medical check up. I mean a ‘well woman’ health check up.
Yes it is uncomfortable and maybe expensive but it is life saving. The days of ‘what you do not know does not kill you’ are long gone. Knowledge is power. Absolute power.
An empowered woman knows her health status. Knowledge is power and knowing your health status makes you powerful.
Come on ladies. It is worth it.” She wrote on her Instagram page.

As life goes on, we can see lot of changes occur in women’s life cycle. Women’s reproductive health is vulnerable to many hazards and needs timely awareness and treatment. The common problems related to reproductive system in the age group of 41 to 60 years are infections of the reproductive tract, menopause, genital organ prolapse, abnormal uterine bleeding and genital malignancy.

The National Family Health Survey II conducted in 1998-1999 among those in medium or low standard of living revealed that 40% to 41% had reproductive tract infection.

There is also cervical cancers, breast cancers among others which women need to be regularly checked up on. This can help early detection and prevent the worst scenarios.
