I Was Making Money, School Had To Wait – Nana Tuffour Talks About Music Life

Legendary highlife musician, Nana Tuffour has revealed why he abandoned school to pursue his talent in music.

According to the veteran musician, inasmuch as he wanted to pursue his education, he could not do so because of his passion for music.

Nana further stated that he discovered his talent at a young age and started making money from music and playing shows, the reason he could not pay attention to his academics.

The “Abeiku” hitmaker told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that “I was making money so I don’t know why I would waste my time. I was a science student and the end product was to make money.

“It’s my talent so how do I get away from it? Going to school is alright but I was willing to make it my own way,” he said.

Nana Tuffour was the frontman of the Waza Africo Band in the 1970’s.

In 1979, he released his first album ‘Highlife Romance’ and has since released other hit albums.

He has won many excellence awards and his last album, “Abeiku”, was very popular among the old and the young.
