Fancy Gadam’s ‘Total Cheat’ Song Appears In GIJ Exams

The lyrics used in ‘Total Cheat’ Song has appeared in the exam questions of final year students at GIJ.

The ‘Total Cheat,’ a song by Tamele-based artiste, Fancy Gadam featuring Sarkodie has been making lots of headlines.

It was this same song that won the Most Popular song of the Year at the 2018 VGMA awards. This was after it had shockingly beaten Patapaa’s highly tipped ‘One Corner’ song.

The question asked about the misogyny inherent in the lyrics and further asked students to list its consequences.

‘Total Cheat’ was released in July 2017, and it so far has over 700, 000 views on Youtube.

However, this is not the first time we’re witnessing exam questions being set based on popular occurrence or personality in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.

A few days ago, two interviews granted by Moesha Boduong also appeared in the section C of the Journalism questions for GIJ Level 400 students.

They were asked to analyze the interviews granted on by the actress on Delay’s Show and to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

Check out the exam questions below;
