Ghanaians Slam Sarkodie For Promoting A Nigerian Music On Instagram

Some social media users have slammed Rapper Sarkodie for promoting an upcoming song from a Nigerian artiste.

Sarkodie shared a video from Peter Psquare’s soon-to-be-released single and urged his followers to watch out for the song.

“New fire from minister of Enjoyment Peter Psquare, Out now”, he wrote.

This however did not go down well with Ghanaians, especially his followers who felt Sarkodie should be using his platform to promote Ghanaian artistes and not the already-made Nigerian acts.

Most of his followers, to show Sarkodie how pissed off they were took to the comment section to throw some unsavory jabs at the rapper.

Others also used the comment section to advise him to take down the post and promote Ghanaian acts instead.

Background

The anger from Instagram users emanates from how some Ghanaian top acts including

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were treated by a Nigerian crowd three days ago,

when they performed at a Zylofon concert in the West African country.

At the event, the Nigerian crowd refused to give the Ghanaian artistes any sort of recognition,

or even cheer them, with most of them just chatting among themselves while the Ghanaian artistes performed.

Ghanaians have since called on the media to stop giving Nigerian music all the attention and airplay on our airwaves and begin to treat their music and musicians like the way they treat ours.

All Will End Here, Drop Your Self Acclaimed Titles – Guru Tells Other Artistes

One very predominant attribute among our Ghanaian musicians is them bestowing titles or accolades on themselves.

We’ve over the years witnessed self acclaimed titles from some of these musicians such as ‘Rap Doctor’, God MC, Dancehall King, King of Rap among others. Gradually, it’s becoming a must have attribute if one wants to be a musician. Especially for those who want to have supremacy over the genre they represent.

However, the NKZ Boss, Guru, has some words of advise for his colleagues with these self acclaimed titles. According to Guru, all their titles are going to end here. He believes that no one is going to carry these titles with them when they pass on. Hence, Guru has advised them to drop all of these self acclaimed titles.

The ‘Problem’ crooner, who took to Twitter to give this advise maintains that just as a person’s first bath was done by some one, so will the person’s last bath also be done by someone.

He wrote:

Your first bath was done by someone your last bath will also be done by someone so drop yourself acclaimed titles wai cos all will end here.

His message has been applauded by most of his followers who believe his words are have deep meanings and are full of wisdom.

However, we’re yet to hear any of his colleagues with these self-acclaimed titles respond to his message.
