There Are No Celebrities In Ghana – Kwaisey Pee

Highlife artiste, Kwaisey Pee has stated categorically that no Ghanaian is fit to be called a celebrity.

According to him, comparing the social and financial status of celebrities living in the Western World to the ‘so-called’ Ghanaian celebrities, he is yet to see one in Ghana.

When told A-list acts such as Daddy Lumba, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy among others can be called celebrities, Kwaisey Pee on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM said:

“We don’t have celebrities in Ghana. I have lived in the Western world and when we talk about celebrities we know. It’s the other way round here. I don’t consider myself as one. I wanna get to where they will call you that. It’s self-professed in Ghana. There is no celebrity in Ghana. They don’t have what it takes.” he told host KMJ.
