Maame Serwaa Nominated For GOWA 2018

Kumawood teen actress. Clara Benson, known in the showbiz as Maame Serwaa has made

the list of nominees for the 2018 Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA).

The actress was nominated in the ‘Ghana Outstanding Women Young Actress’ category.

This however marks Maame Serwaa’s first nomination at the renowned GOWA Awards.

Maame Serwaa will however battle it out with for the ‘Young Actress Act’ crown

alongside Fella Makafui, Jessica Williams and Matilda Adwoa Densu just to mention a few.

The awards ceremony comes off on November 30, 2018, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

GOWA aims to honour Ghanaian women who have impacted the growth of the country

in areas such as politics, health, education, sports and showbiz.

In all, nominees were announced for 23 categories of the GOWA 2018.

This however includes Outstanding Woman of the Year, Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur,

Outstanding Woman Actress, Outstanding Woman in Music, Outstanding Woman in Politics as

well as Outstanding Woman in Sports. Special recognition awards will also be given to

individuals or organizations.

Teen actress Clara Benson, popularly known as Maame Serwaa has added a, milestone.

As has become the norm, the beautiful took to social media to celebrate her day.

She shared photos of herself which has caught the attention of her followers.

Maame Serwaa looks exquisite in these photos and you might think she’s perhaps some 25-year-old woman, but she’s still young and just 19 years old.

The actress who has carved a niche for herself in the movie industry as a talented and respected actress has featured in several movies such as Trotro Mate, Maame Serwaa Asuoden, Bayie Economy, My mother My jewel, Maame Serwaa Amanehunu, Maame Serwaa in love, Merciful Satan, Obofo Maame Serwaa, Maame Serwaa time aso, Who Killed Maame Serwaa, Akokoa among a blizzard of others.

In 2015, Serwaa won the Kumawood Best Actress of the year , which set her in motion for a lucrative career.

She completed her senior high school education last year at the Serwaa Nyarko Girls Senior High School.

Maame Serwaa Appears On BBC For Her Role In TV3’s Drama Series, Sadia

Young Ghanaian actress, Maame Serwaa, known in real life as Clara Benson has caught the attention of the BBC in her latest role in a local drama series titled Sadia.

The BBC is making a children’s programme for children across the African continent. However, their main focus in Ghana, is the film and movie industry.

Maame Serwaa’s name appeared on the list of most popular young actors in Ghana. This was during a survey conducted by a crew from the British Broadcasting Corporation in Ghana.

According to a member of the crew, “all the children we spoke to love her and we want to share that love with the continent.” He said while documenting the actress on set.

Some of the children who the BBC crew spoke to, looked up to her as a role model.  As a result, the crew just had to get in on the action, hence the decision to film her behind the scenes of ‘Sadia’.

Appearing on a huge platform like the BBC is definitely a great news for Maame Serwaa. This is definitely bound to shoot her already rocket high career to heights that only hard work and dedication in such a competitive industry can push one.

The young actress recently signed a mouthwatering contract with arts and entertainment company, Silvanus Records. This further puts her on the spot as the company has taken up her managerial duties.

One can definitely Serwaa is enthusiastic and delirious to see her career blossom at such a young age.

Maame Serwaa began her career in acting at a very tender age. She has won the hearts of many, both young and old with her impeccable roles in these movies.

She lost her mother last year but her passion and vision for her work saw her bounce back on her feet despite being so young.

Actress Maame Serwaa Makes First Appearance On BBC

Young Ghanaian actress Clara Benson, popularly known us Maame Serwaa has made it to one of the world’s biggest screens, BBC.

The actress appeared on BBC documentary show on Wednesday, April 11.

Serwaa spoke about a variety of issues including her career and charity in Ghana.

A crew from BBC UK paid a visit to the budding actress in her home in Accra.

Maame Serwaa also spoke on the need for women, particularly in Africa, to be supported. As well as given women opportunities which would make the world “believe in them more.”

The 18-year-old who began her acting career at a tender age recounted some of the challenges she came across while trying to make a mark for herself in the movie industry.

She disclosed further that while that menace was and is still prevalent in the industry, she never agreed to “go down” with any producer before being given a role.

Serwaa explained that she knows her value and talent as an actress. Therefore, she allowed those attributes to speak for her rather than the roles.

According to her, she is a very positive person. Therefore, she does not allow negativity and bad talk from people and the media to get to her.

I Didn’t Kill My Mother For Rituals – Maame Serwaa

Kumawood star, Clara Benson popularly known as Maame Serwaa has debunked claims that she killed her mother for rituals.

Maame Serwaa’s mother passed on early December last year after a short illness.

However, shortly after her demise, there were rumors that the young actress  is a member of Illuminati hence sacrificed her mum for rituals.

The rumors further had it that she had bought a new car just after the death of her mother.

However, speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Delay Show’, the 18-year-old actress denied ever using her mother for money rituals.

She added that she never bought any car after her mother passed on. According to her, she doesn’t even have any car but rather, it is in her recently signed contract that she will get a car from.

“It is never true. Kill my mum for what? I was accused of killing my mum a few days after she died.

The accuser did not even wait for us to finish her one-week memorial service. It was alleged that one ‘osofo maame’ came up with the claims. Another pastor also said I was a member of Illuminati. I don’t even know what an Illuminati is. I don’t even own a car”, she told Delay.

Maame Serwaa lost her mother on Thursday, December 7 to a short illness according to reports.

Few days after that, one Prophetess Donkor accused the young actress of using her mother’s blood for sacrifice.

According to her, it was revealed to her that the young actress killed her mother for sacrifice. This she said is because she wants fame and money.

Another Kumasi based ‘pastor’ also claimed that she is a member of a secret society thus she (Maame Serwaa) used her mother for sacrifice to get a new rank in the group.

Kumawood actress, Clara Benson popularly called Maame Serwaa  has signed a five-year juicy deal with Silvanus Records to manage her career to the next level.

The deal was finally sealed on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra in a short ceremony.

Although both Silvanus Records and Maame Serwaa were tight-lipped about other details of the contract such as the amount given her, Mark Tetteh, manager of the actress was sure the deal was mouthwatering.

According to them, they intend pushing her brand so she gains international recognition as well as excel in all her endeavors.

Bill Asamoah, Don Little, George Benson, Mark Tetteh,Baby Blanche, Bright Benson were all there to support the actress on her gain.

The CEO of Silvanus Records, Bright Benson said the firm will handle the profession of Ghana Arts and entertainment.

“We have interest in all disciplines of the creative arts. We have an agenda to produce movies. Some people think movies are not selling in Ghana now but I can also tell you that movies are selling. It’s about how you produce it.

“As people who have franchise for a particular award scheme, the best you can do is to contribute to that sector. We cannot run a movie awards when we don’t have anything doing with movies. It is our plan that we put out our own movies on the market,” he said.

Clara Amoaten Benson is a Ghanaian-born actress. She began her acting career at a very tender age. She is mainly at the Kumawood industry where she has starred in several movies. Clara is best known by her stage name Maame Serwaa. Serwaa won Best Indigenous Actress of the Year edition of the City People Entertainment Award last year.

Maame Serwaa is famous for hit movies such as ‘The Twins,’ ‘Maame Serwaa In Love,’ ‘Abusua Mefri Mu,’ ‘Sike Pe,’ which have in the past earned him a visit to the many famouse people.
