New Date: R2bees ‘Site 15’ Album To Be Released On March 1

Ghanaian music duo, R2Bees have announced a new date for the release of their latest album titled ‘Site 15’.

According to the group, the album, which will be their third studio album will be released on March 1.

The album, which was initially set for release on August 2018 was pushed back after the group

signed a deal with Universal Music Group, the world’s biggest music company.

“They [Universal] made us a very good offer which we think we should take,” explained Ike Otoo Arhin, Manager for the group.

“This is our 10 years anniversary and the album release should be huge. If we release it independently, it would not go as far as we want it. Ghana music has to go further,” he added.

Universal will handle marketing, promotion and distribution of ‘Site 15’ by the duo.

Meanwhile, ‘We Dey Vibe,’ a single off the album was released last year.

They became the third Ghanaian act to be signed by the world’s biggest music company after

Cina Soul and Stonebwoy.

R2Bees Reveals How Much They Were Paid For Their First Show With Shatta Wale

Hiplife group,R2Bees in a latest interview have revealed how much they were paid for their

first ever show in Cape Coast.

The award winning duo reminiscing on the beginning of their career revealed they were paid 4

million Ghana cedis for the group to perform to their hit single ‘Yawa Girl’ in Cape Coast.

Paedae, recounting the event in an interview n Joy FM said;

“I remember our first show was at Cape Coast and it was with Shatta Wale but then he was called Bandana and we were paid 4 million Ghana cedis.” 

“That’s when we realized we had to to take the music thing serious. “Yawa Girl” was hard but we decided to do more commercial songs.” 

The music duo, made up of Paedae and Mugeez are currently embarking on a media tour to promote their upcoming album ‘Site 15’.

They however have a new single ‘Beautiful’ which features Wizkid and out ahead of the album launch.

We Don’t Need To Do Shows To Survive- R2Bees Reveals How They Make Their Money

Ghanaian music duo, R2Bees are currently on a media run promoting their upcoming album ‘Site 15’.

The group, which consists of PaeDae and Mugeez recently premiered their latest single

‘Beautiful’ which features Nigeria’s Super star, Wizkid which is obviously doing quite well.

The group, however is hardly seen organizing shows or events to promote themselves like

most of their colleagues do.

This has left many of their fans and Ghanaians wondering as to how they are even able to

keep up with times in this showbiz.

But the duo have revealed that they really do not need to run shows to remain relevant in

the Ghanaian music scenes.

According to Paedae, all things being equal, artistes still need luck to stay relevant in Ghana’s showbiz industry.

PaeDae talking about Ghana’s music industry revealed;

“The industry is a tough for everyone especially the upcoming artist.” He told Joy FM.

“I was telling Darko Vibes about artists that have been in the industry from when we started and they still don’t have a hit song an they are still trying.

“I tell Killbeatz the music industry is like Champions League because you need luck because you can be good but you need that little bit of luck.

“It’s really challenging especially in Ghana when there is no industry where in Europe where you don’t even need to do shows because of Royalties and streaming but Ghana we don’t have the structure where yo earn royalties but we are blessed and lucky because our streaming numbers are crazy that’s why people hardly hear from us. We don’t need to do shows to survive,” he added.

We Don’t Beg Bloggers To Post Our Songs – R2bees 

Ghanaian hiplife artistes, R2bees says hardly would they call on any publicist to publish a story on their behalf in the name of hype.

According to the Tema-based music duo, they believe in producing good songs that will

sell themselves hence they refrain from relying on bloggers to push their content.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Cosmopolitan Mix show with Doreen Andoh on Friday, member of the group, Omar Sterling said;

“I would never send you a song to post for me. [The reason is] I trust the music so much and I believe it will do just right.

“I don’t think we went through hardships because we started our record label. We don’t know people. We don’t get a lot of good press.

He also added that;

We don’t care about all these things. We believe in our music. It’s all about the fans. It’s always been all hands-on board if we are to give gratitude to anyone.”

R2bees are however set to launch their new “Site 15” album early next year.

“We’ve pushed our new album to next year because we just dropped the single, “Beautiful”. We worked on it for three years,” Omar said.

I Don’t Believe In Marriage – Paedae Of R2Bees

Ghanaian artiste, Paedae of R2Bees fame has shockingly revealed that he has no faith in marriage.

According to a report on Myjoyonline.com, reports has categorically stated that he has no

plans of marrying.

Speaking in an interview with Doreen Andoh on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM, the rapper,

born Faisal Hakeem, said he does not believe in the concept of two people tying the knot to be

called husband and wife.

Asked if he is married, the musician replied;

“No, I’m not married. I don’t even actually believe in the concept of marriage.” 

Also known as Omar Sterling, the rapper said even though he will not marry, “we will have

kids but I don’t believe in the concept of marriage.”

When host, Doreen Andoh tried to probe about Paedae’s rumored relationship with socialite

and legal practitioner Sandra Ankobia, he swiftly responded, “any rumour? No rumour…what’s the rumour?”

“It’s beautiful,” Mugeez, the second half of the duo, also responded in support of Paedae.

Mugeez continued: “…as you know, they [ladies] love we , they plenty and as we too we dey do the work like this, we love them….”

R2Bees Drops Another Banger Dubbed ‘Beautiful’(VIDEO)

Music duo, R2Bees has released a new tune for the yuletide.

The duo have released yet another music video for one of their recent singles, this one called ‘Beautiful’.

The official music video for ‘Beautiful’ was released by the team’s management few hours ago.

‘Beautiful’ is one of the singles from their upcoming “SITE 15” album and follows close on

the heels of ‘Supa’ with Wizkid. Production credit however goes to Killbeatz.

You Can Only Hate Shatta Wale When You’re Not From The Ghetto – Mugeez

Dancehall act, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale is known

to have the largest fan-base as well as haters in the Ghana.

The singer has over the years been labeled by many entertainment critics as a loud-mouth

and a controversial artiste.

Sharing his views on this however, Mugeez of R2Bees music group says only those who are

not from the Ghetto would hate Shatta Wale.

Mugeez made this known through a post on his Snap Chat account.

One of Ghana’s longest serving music group, R2Bees has announced the release of a new album titled “Site 15”

This will however be their third studio album and will be made available to the public next week.

The project arrives 5 years after their critically acclaimed Da Revolution II: Refuse to Be Broke. This was a 19-tracker that birthed commercial monsters as ‘Ajeii’, ‘Life (Walaahi)’, ‘Odo’ and ‘Bayla Trap’ (That album also saw them earn a nomination at the 2013 BET Awards).

Site 15 references the Tema block cousins —Faisal Hakeem (Paedae da Pralem/Omar Sterling), and Rashid Mugeez (Mugeez) grew up in.

Active in music since 2007, R2Bees came to nationwide attention with their 2008 debut offering, “Yawa Gal”, followed by “I Dey Mad”, “Kiss Your Hand”, “T.E.M.A”, “Radio”, and “Africa” —songs which would serve as the crust of their first album, Da Revolution I.

While this is their first joint body of work in a significant while, the band, multiple-award-winners, have published endless chart-topping hits including “Makoma”, “Plantain Chips”, “Tonight”, and “Could This Be Love”, and appeared as guests on other projects. In September 2016, Omar Sterling, the rapper half of the group, published Victory Through Harmony, an 18-track mixtape to critical reviews.

 

I Cannot Sign R2Bees On Starboy Entertainment – Wizkid

Nigerian music superstar,  Wizkid has revealed that he never signed legendary Ghanaian music duo, R2bees  onto his world acclaimed record label, Starboy Entertainment.

It has been highly speculated that the Ghanaian music superstars were signed onto the Starboy label.

However, Wizkid, who has been friends with the ‘Gboza’ hitmakers has clarified that notion saying there was nothing of that sort, as most people believe. According to the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker, the Ghanaian music duo are his seniors in music. He stated that the affiliation was never contractual and was only borne out of friendship and his love for R2bees and Ghana. Adding that they are too big to be signed onto his record label.

Wizkid, real name, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, made this revelation on a Nigerian radio station.

“It’s a family thing. R2bees was never signed to Starboy. R2bees cannot be signed on Starboy. These are people who started music before I did. Its a collaboration we did to put out music.” The ‘Hola At Ur Boy’ hitmaker said.

Wizkid was a guest on Urban 96 FM’s #UrbanClubMix.

He also spoke on his plans to get married.

According to the multiple awards-winning musician, he will marry if all the women in his life decide to marry him.

The 27-year-old artiste also spoke on how he would love to relocate to Ghana when he was much older.

R2Bees is a Ghanaian Hiplife duo which consists of Paedae da Pralem (Faisal Hakeem) and Mugeez (Rashid Mugeez).

The name R2Bees (R2 Bees) comes from the group’s mantra which is “Refuse to be broke”.

They have an independent label called R2Bees Entertainment.

Some of their songs include; Makoma, Yawa Girl, Afrika, I Dey Mad among others.
