Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange expressed shock that no one in his neighborhood has observed DP William Ruto’s tough warning on tree felling and logging.
Trees being cut in Kitusuru
During his JKL show on Citizen TV, Koinanage showed remorse that trees were being cut at an alarming rate around his home in Kitusuru despite government’s ban.
”The deputy president put a ban on logging. Trees are being cut left, right and centre ouside my house in Kitusuru. The machines are going on day in, day out, cutting down trees. Imagine what is going on in the Mau,” Jeff Koinange said.
On Monday Ruto announced that there won’t be any tree felling and logging in Kenya for 90 days to restore the lost forest in the country. Illegal login is slowly turning the country to a desert and Kenyans are pushing for change before things get worse.
Jeff Koinange excited netizens when he was seen grabbing Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru by the waist. The two rubbed shoulders over at the Mo Litto Farm located off Limuru Road.
Last Saturday Jeff hosted the latest edition of ‘Jeans and Boots’ – a country-music themed event. Anne Waiguru was a surprise guest at the event.

A new library under construction at Mbagathi Girls High School has been named after Jeff Koinange. Kibra Kenneth Okoth did the honor of naming the library after the legendary journalist.
Jeff now wants to stock the library before it officially opens its doors to students. He asks Kenyans to help him raise money to buy books to stock his library.

Jeff Koinange has been fired twice in his journalism career. His dismissal from CNN was the most controversial since it made headlines across the globe.
Jeff was fired from CNN because of two allegations. First was his exposé on Niger Delta and second a woman called Marianne Briner-Mattern.
Jeff, then CNN Africa correspondent, ran a story on the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) which prompted Nigerian government to threaten CNN.

Jeff opened up about his worst nightmare while speaking on his show on Hot 96. The veteran journalist says CNN fired him even without verifying the woman’s claim.
The Hot 96 presenter further reveals that his wife was expecting their son when he was shown the door. He says his boss sacked him via the phone while he was driving home.
“My boss called me and asked me to pull off the highway (I was driving at the time) and he said ‘Listen man, there is too much crap- too many rumors and I don’t think we can sustain you any longer, we will need to let you go,” says Jeff.

The Koinanges have lost the eldest member of their family. Jeff Koinange announced the passing of his centenarian grandmother with great sadness.
The Citizen TV anchor introduced his grandma on Mashujaa Day. Jeff shared a video he took while he was with his granny laughing and having fun.

Citizen TV anchor Jeff Koinange caused tongues to wag when he took his son Jamal Mbiyu Koinange to meet former South African president Thabo Mbeki who in Kenya on an observatory mission.
Mbeki, who is the Head of the African Union Election Observation Mission to Kenya, rubbed shoulders with Jeff and his son over the past weekend.

I managed to come across one photo of the renown news anchor and truth be told he really looked good. The photo was taken back in 2014 when he was giving his valedictorian speech at Kingsborough Community College.
If you ever wondered whether he can pull a different hairstyle than his signature short hair then checkout a photo of him with the short baby locks.
The rumor also had it that Jalango was to team up with Jeff Koinange for a radio show on Hot 96 – and yesterday April 25 the celebrity duo confirmed their show will start on Thursday 27th April 2017.
