Adonai Happens To Be My Biggest Hit Of All Time – Sarkodie

The King of Rap, Sarkodie is noted to have consistently delivered so many hit songs but according to him, none can compare to his track, ‘Adonai’.

Adonai was a huge song whose impact was felt not only in Ghana but outside the country as well. It was released in 2014 and features Castro.

According to Sarkodie, the track got him a lot of deals and he has not been able to release a song bigger than that.

Adding that although his fans wish he would release more of such songs, he won’t because he is a rapper.

Sarkodie Speaks

“Some musicians in Ghana need massive hits to survive and therefore do any kind of song to stay relevant but that is not Sarkodie. I stand for rap and that is what has brought me this far,” he noted.

Speaking about the artistes on his label, which includes Akwaboah and Strongman, Sarkodie said  very soon Ghanaians will hear of them as they are working underground.

Born Micheal Owusu Addo, he is preparing for his annual Rapperholic concert slated for December 27.

The event is said to be one of a kind as Sark is expected to treat fans and music lovers to his old hits as well as those from his latest album, ‘Highest’.

Expected to perform alongside the King of Rap are a number of artistes who featured on his ‘Highest’ album.

We Won’t Legalise Homosexuality – Government

The government makes its stance known on the prevalent conversation.

The government says it has no intention to legalise same-sex relationship, This came hours after it came under pressure to make public its position on the matter.

Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid stated that homosexuality continues to be unacceptable. This is because there is no “cultural orientation” that supports it in Ghana.

Moreover, he admitted a society’s culture could change to reflect modern times. Therefore, at the moment same-sex relationship cannot be legalised.

The government’s position on same sex relationship is not different from that of the customs and traditions of Ghanaians.

The Information Minister made these statements on Joy News.

His Statement

“Since law is premised on customs, what it means is that we cannot make it legal at this stage. This is considering that the customs and traditions of the people abhor homosexuality,” Mr Hamid said.

A pressure group, Citizens for Truth and Accountability, Ghana (CITAG) has said the president’s comment was an indirect invitation to gay groups.

Finally, Mr Hamid said the government will not engage with any group on the issue of homosexuality. He reiterated that it is unacceptable to all citizens.

Have They Finished Legalizing Marijuana? – Kwaw Kese

The President’s statement continue to bring up views from different people.

Rapper Emmanuel Botway popularly known as Kwaw Kese has added his voice to the discussion. He is among the many Ghanaians who have strongly voiced out against the legalization of homosexuality in the country.

Kwaw in a tweet opined that it is morally wrong for any individual to engage in same sex relations.

Furthermore, he argued that the romantic, sexual attraction between members of the same sex should never be condoned in the country.

According to him, even animals do not engage in such act so he cannot fathom why humans would decide to be homosexuals.

Moreover, Kwaw Kese questioned if they had made marijuana legal in the country.

His Statement

“It’s a moral wrong for a man to sleep wit a fellow man. Even animals don’t do such.

Have they finished legalizing marijuana ???”

His Tweet

Kwaw Kese made these statements to John Dumelo who was asking what people thought about the issue.

Abodam’s comment comes after President Nana Addo’s utterance on Aljazeera that legalizing homosexuality in Ghana is not on the agenda.

Pretending Gays Don’t Exist Doesn’t Change The Fact That They Do – Lydia Forson

Outspoken actress Lydia Forson has shared her thoughts on the trending issue of the President’s answer to homosexuality in Ghana.

The actress in a blog post on Monday, 27 November explained that the President did not err in his submission on Ghana’s position on legalizing homosexuality.

In the post captioned “The President on Homosexuality; he said what he said”, she explained that our outrage isn’t going to change the fact that some people closer to us may be Gays and therefore it is about time we faced reality and believed that homosexuals truly exist.

According to Lydia Forson, the President wasn’t voted into power to enforce his own personal beliefs on his citizens. Instead, he was voted to represent all citizens irrespective of their beliefs and practices.

Adding that, President Akufo Addo’s answer to the question is an intellectual response which is devoid of emotions. This, she explained is due to the fact that there are laws that protect all citizens irrespective of their beliefs and practices.

Lydia Forson Writes

“History should teach us all that every minority or group of people that feel oppressed, restricted etc will someday find their voice, strength and the balls to demand equal treatment.

That’s just the way it is!

Jews.

Women.

Black people.

Interracial couples.

The president didn’t condone homosexuality, he simply stated the FACT that at some point we’ll be forced to have this conversation, whether we want to or not; and it may not even be any time soon or even in our life time.

But we have to reach the mental capacity needed to have these debates.

Which is why I don’t think it’s fair to constantly pressurize African leaders to taking a stand on this.”

She further added that; where Ghana is now as a developing country, all developed countries have been there before. ” We shouldn’t be forced to run when we’re just learning how to WALK.

With that being said, your outrage isn’t going to change the fact that your friend, doctor, pastor (yep them too) lawyer etc is GAY.”

She concluded by writing that;

“So the president’s response is what anyone who understands history, law and the realities of the world we live in today, would say.

Pretending they don’t exist doesn’t change the FACT that they do”

Reasons To Take Less Salt

Salt is essential in our everyday diet. However, too much of everything is bad. Salt when taken in excess brings about a lot of troubles.

Below are the reasons to reduce your salt intake.

Obesity

We’re never told about how salt can contribute to weight gain. Salt itself doesn’t cause obesity as such. But what salt does is, it makes you thirsty. And when you’re thirsty, you might be tempted to drink soda. Furthermore, soda is rife with sugar, which does cause weight gain. Teenagers and children are more susceptible to this. When they’re thirsty, they’re probably going to want a coke.

Salt Can Cause Stomach Cancer

This one is really scary. Cancer is generally scary. However, stomach cancer is arguably one of the scariest, as it has such a bad mortality rate. A bad diet can cause stomach cancer. It makes sense when you really think about it. Salt is a big risk factor. If you reduce your intake of salt, you can reduce your risk of developing stomach cancer.

Water Retention

Water retention leads to bloating. Bloating is uncomfortable. Sometimes bloating takes ages to go away, and it makes us feel rubbish for a few hours. There are different causes of bloating, and too much salt intake is one of them. Reduce your salt intake and see what happens.

Salt Can Age You Prematurely

None of us want to look older before our time. Yet many of us are consuming things that are accelerating the ageing process, from alcohol to salt. Salt is the enemy of youthful beauty. It will strip you of your youthful glow, add fine lines and wrinkles. That is because we mostly eat refined salt just like sugar.

Salt is an Irritant

Salt is actually an irritant that can wreak havoc with your internal system. It can trigger toxins to become active, which in turn can leave you feeling fatigued and generally out of whack. Salt can also weaken your taste buds, so that your sense of taste isn’t as sharp as it once was.

9 Easy Home Remedies For Soft Feet

Skin is exposed to harsh elements on a daily basis, from sun and wind to harsh chemicals and drying soaps. Feet can be a beautiful part of the body. Often, though, people neglect theirs. The skin becomes dry, coarse or cracked. This is far from the ideal of smooth, silky feet. Fortunately, making the skin on your feet smooth is a simple and straightforward process. You can do it overnight and the cost for the materials is very low. In fact, you probably already have everything you need.

Items Needed;

  • Lavender or rose essential oil, optional
  • Sugar
  • 1 whole lemon
  • Pumice stone
  • Cotton balls
  • Coconut, almond or olive oil
  • Plush socks

Step 1

Soak your feet in warm water. Either take a bath or fill a small basin with soothing warm water. Avoid hot water, which can dry out your skin. Add a few drops of lavender or rose essential oil to the water to create a soothing sensory experience. Soak your feet for about 10 minutes.

Step 2

Dry them off using a soft, clean towel.

Step 3

Slice a lemon in half and dip one-half of the lemon into a small amount of regular sugar. Use the sugared lemon half to scrub any rough areas on your feet. Go over your toes as well using gentle circular motions. If you have particularly rough areas on your feet, use a pumice stone or foot file to smooth out these areas.

Step 4

Rinse off your feet using warm water and towel dry them.

Step 5

Pour a small amount of natural oil, such as coconut, almond or olive oil, onto a small cotton ball.

Step 6

Apply the oil to your feet, making sure to sweep the cotton ball around and between all your toes. Reapply oil to the cotton ball as needed until your skin is lightly coated.

Step 7

Pull on a pair of clean cotton socks or plush socks to keep your feet clean while the oil does its job.

 Step 8

Keep the socks  on for at least two hours and, ideally, around eight hours. Time this process for around bedtime so that the oils can soak into your skin while you sleep.

Step 9

Repeat the exfoliation process about once a week. You can apply natural oil to your skin as often as every day.

Note

Be aware of any allergies or sensitivities your skin may have before applying lotion or oil. Purchase a deep moisturizing lotion for everyday use between oil treatments to keep your skin happy throughout the day. Reapply after bathe.

5 Natural Home Remedies For Upset Stomach

Dyspepsia—indigestion and upset stomach—is a condition that describes pain or discomfort in the stomach region. A slew of symptoms can be experienced in dyspepsia, including nausea, bloating, and burping, to name a few.

There are many causes of an upset stomach, including eating too much, eating too fast, consuming fatty or greasy foods, eating spicy food, having too much caffeine, consuming fizzy beverages, nervousness, and even smoking. The list is actually quite long.

An upset stomach can be quite troubling, especially if you are out and about. You feel sick, uncomfortable, your pants seem to have shrunk instantly, and all you ready want to do is be home.

Instead of being miserable and falling victim to your upset stomach, try some of these home remedies that can help relieve you of your woes;

1.Rice Tea

To settle an upset stomach or stop diarrhea, make a rice “tea.” Boil 1/2 cup of rice in six cups of water for about 15 minutes. Strain out the rice, then flavor the water with a dash of honey or sugar and drink warm.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar Soothes an Upset Stomach

A mixture of one tablespoon apple cider vinegar, one cup warm water, and one tablespoon honey will ease indigestion and may alleviate cramping and gas in your upset stomach. It can also lessen discomfort caused by heartburn. It also eases hiccups and soothes sore throat. But beware to drink this in small quantities.

3. Burnt Toast

You know that toast is one of the best stomach ache remedies, but burnt toast is even better because the char absorbs toxins that are making you feel ill. Add a smear of jelly to make it more palatable.

4. Carrot Juice

Carrot provides nourishment and peppermint soothes your upset stomach. Boil four sliced carrots, four cups of water, and one teaspoon of dried peppermint or one peppermint teabag. Turn the heat to medium-low and cook about 15 minutes or until carrots are soft. If you’re using a teabag, remove it, then blend the mixture until smooth and enjoy! You can also add a pinch of ground ginger to further soothe, or a squeeze of lemon juice for flavor.

5. Heat Helps an Upset Stomach

Another great addition to the list of medicine-free stomach ache remedies is placing a hot water bottle or heating pad on your upset stomach. The heat increases blood flow to the skin surface and transfers the perception of pain from inside your stomach to the outside.

Sigh!! This beef between Shatta Wale and the Nigerians seem unending.

The beef between Shatta Wale and the Nigerians has been rejuvenated by Timaya. Timaya is a Nigerian dancehall artist.

Over the past week, Shatta Wale trended all over Twitter after his comments were misinterpreted.

Till now no Nigerian artiste has responded to him. However, Timaya has finally reacted in what can best be described as ‘slaps in the face of Shatta Wale’.

During a livestream, Timaya was answering a fan about whether he would do a diss song for Shatta. He seemed confused about who Shatta Wale was. Further he asked, ‘who is Shatta Wale?

He said in the video; “So people said I should make a diss track for Shatta Wale, please who is Shatta Wale. Is he a singer, shoemaker or a plumber”

Obviously this video will prompt a reply from the SM boss

Let Ebony Be, She Is Just Building Her Brand-Ebony’s Manager To Critics

Manager of the ’90’s Bad Gal, Ebony, has responded to claims that the ‘sponsor’ singer is showing too much nakedness.

According to Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly called Bullet, Ebony’s brand is an international brand. Therefore adding that, musicians including some critics needed to cope with her style.

Ebony he said, was just building her brand adding that, “to say, she shows too much nakedness is a awful. She does what she does to please her fans. That does not mean she is showing too much or whatever”.

Ebony was in the news for exposing almost half of her private parts at the just ended 4Syte TV Music Video Awards when she was captured in a video.

The news which has since been debated on several social media platforms received mixed reactions from critics who believed Ebony was getting out of hand.

Bullet’s Speech

Speaking on the nude video performance, bullet said, someone at the event intentionally zoomed in on her private area just to make news and disgrace Ebony.

“On the red carpet at the 4Syte TV Music Video Awards, Ebony was wearing something under the blue dress but I learnt something just pushed her for the small part of the nakedness to show and because some journalist wanted to disgrace her, they did not zoom anywhere but the pubic hair.”

“Actually, I have never seen the video myself or the pictures they are talking about.”

“She never went to the event with the intention of showing her pubic hair to the audience, she respects herself and the brand as well.”

Trigmatic And Wife Welcome Baby

Congratulations are in order for the couple.

Rapper, Trigmatic and wife Dita have welcomed a baby boy. The rapper took to Instagram to appreciate his sweet and lovely wife. He also used the opportunity to thank God for his blessings.

He wrote:

“With patience, humility and time, you find the mind of God. God blesses His own in many ways. You don’t look far to count your blessings. He puts gifts in many people around us but we hardly see. I have seen this in many ways. In my walk with God, He’s taught me to put value on the many little things and regard not material like many do. If men can keep digging they will hit the jewel one day.

Forget the pain and keep at it. You are a true God and the mockery and hard times have paid off. You kept your word God and said you will bless those that diligently seek you. Forgive me when I ask for more. It’s just the man in me but you always come through. God am grateful for teaching me each day of my life how awesome you are. God bless this woman @mrs__matic! You are such a blessing”

Homosexuality Likely To Rise In Ghana- Akufo Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that, homosexuality may become a topical issue in Ghana in the near future but so far not on the agenda.

President’s Speech

“I think it is something that is bound to happen like elsewhere in the world.” But he says “it is not so far a matter which is on the agenda”.

President Akufo-Addo made these remarks on Sunday on Al Jazeera’s Talk To Al Jazeera hosted by Jane Dutton.

Ghana’s laws frown on same-sex marriage and it is punishable.

“I believe that those are the same processes.”

He recounted how the United Kingdom did not consider homosexuality an issue in his school days while living there.

But later the activism grew stronger and “it forced a change in law,” he recalled.

“At the moment, I don’t feel that in Ghana there is that strong cult of opinion that will say this is something that we need to deal with.” President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo added.

5 Female Dancehall Artistes In Ghana. Who Is Your Favorite?

Dancehall music is a genre of urban folk music which came out of Jamaica in the mid to late 1970s and is generally considered to be the direct predecessor of rap. The genre, in its most basic form, a deejay toasting (or rapping) over a riddim. Dancehall is also known as ‘bashment’, a term which can refer to either the music itself or a large party where dancehall music is played.

History Of Dancehall

Dancehall gets its name, predictably, from large halls or street spaces where deejays were setting up their sound systems.

As the idea of toasting, rather than just playing pre-recorded songs, became popular, many of the best deejays became household names in Jamaica and eventually throughout the music world. Some of the more popular early deejays were King Jammy, Shabba Ranks and Yellowman.

Benefits Of Eating Yoghurt Every Morning

We’re not talking about the yoghurt done by FanIce. Yoghurt is produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. The bacteria used to make yogurt are known as “yogurt cultures”. There are several benefits of eating yoghurt every morning.

We share some below

Good for bones

A bowl of yogurt has 300 grams of calcium. Therefore, if you are worried about your debilitating bone health, it’s always good to add yogurt to your diet. It will not only maintain your bone density but also strengthen them. For the elderly who are at risk of osteoporosis, a cup of yogurt daily after lunch is a healthy option.

Faster workout recovery

Yoghurt has the perfect ratio of protein and carbohydrate and is a brilliant post workout snack. If you have a bowl of yogurt within 60 minutes of your workout, it releases amino acids that help repair muscles. Have a glass of water with your yogurt and it improves the absorption of water by intestines – thereby enhancing your hydration.

Controls blood pressure

Salt is the main culprit behind high blood pressure. Therefore, if not monitored high BP can lead to serious health complications such as hypertension and kidney disease. The potassium present in yogurt helps eradicate excess of sodium from our bodies.

Builds immunity

The probiotics present in yogurt works on building your immunity and lowers your chances of contracting various illnesses. Probiotics are proven to work on strengthening gut health. Yogurt also has zinc and other minerals that are absolutely essential for good health.

Prevents yeast infections

Yogurt consumption is linked to reduction of yeast infections. So if you are prone to such infections, it’s best to increase it in your diet.
