Mark, explaining what celebrity means said it doesn’t involve the financial status of a person.

“He said we don’t have celebrities. It is untrue we do have. Bob Marley and Joseph Hill [Culture] dressed anyhow and didn’t drive luxurious cars but can you say they weren’t celebrities?

“Ethics is about how your society accepts something that is right or wrong. That’s why gayism is normal in the Western culture but not in Africa. Celebrity is the state of being known and talked about. A person who is widely known period per dictionary definition. So where from if you don’t have this or that, you’re not a celebrity?” Mark queried.

Mr. Okraku Mantey said “It’s not about richness. If Nana Addo goes anywhere the atmosphere changes because he is a celeb.. We have lots of celebs in the country from music to film, politics, and religion.

“I forgive Kwaisey Pee because he lived in the Western Culture for so long,” he concluded.

Current Crop Of Artistes Are Arrogant – Kwaisey Pee

Highlife artiste, Kwaisey Pee has said many of the current crop of Ghanaian artistes are arrogant.

Kwaisey Pee in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM said these young artistes feel big

and think they know everything.

He explained it is also difficult to get some of the new artistes to feature in a song.

“They give lots of excuses and always talk about being busy. I have some songs I want to feature some of them on so I have to wait till they are less busy,” he told KMJ host of the show.

The “Mehia Odo” singer further noted that the arrogance of new artistes is destroying some of the indigenous Ghanaian sounds, especially highlife.

Many of the young artistes do not make an attempt to learn all there is about highlife because

they believe they know all there is, he noted.

He, however, stated what the artistes know is not closer to the “indigenous” highlife music.

Kwaisey Pee again explained;

“my father (highlife legend Ajeiku) and musicians in his time played the indigenous highlife, then George Darko, Lee Duodo and co came with the ‘Burger Highlife’. They managed to fuse in the original highlife and still made it authentic.”

According to him, Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba also brought their version to the highlife brand

but they stuck closer to the original sound.

“Fast forward, myself, K.K Fosu, Ofori Amponsah and others with a different vibe of our own joined the highlife brand but it was still highlife we were doing but these

young ones I think are losing it when it comes to the things that make highlife,” he added.

The musician said the young Ghanaian artistes are taking away the indigenous part of highlife

and the Nigerians who came to learn music from Ghanaians are using it instead.

“Nigerian musicians like Tekno and Flavour are doing Highlife, and we have taken sounds that do not belong to us which is corrupting our highlife sound,” Kwaisey Pee noted.

He said, young ones feel big to approach legends like Nana Ampadu and producers like Zap Mallet to learn from them.

“Every musician I worked with I asked questions I learn from them and that it’s

what has made me who I am, I don’t believe the young ones go too close to the old ones to learn,” Kwaisey Pee stated.

He added many people have also thought he is proud and arrogant but that is a misconception

“I am laid back and friendly.

I Won’t Pretend Willi Roi Was My Friend – Stonebwoy

Dancehall artiste, Livinstone Etse Satekla, best known as Stonebwoy has reiterated his reasons

for not attending the funeral of the late Willi Roi, who was the Head of the Zylofon Arts Club.

According to him, he was being honest in a video which went viral where he said he did not have

a good relationship with Willi Roi.

“I answered some delicate questions and I was honest about what I said and I don’t stand to pull back anything and I’m not saying it with a wicked heart, the truth they say hurts but it sets people free,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM.

READ:https://www.ghafla.com/gh/zylofon-tv-and-fm-back-on-air/

Stonebwoy alleged that Willi Roi’s death was not natural, so it is normal that people he was

not in the best of terms with would be linked to his demise.

“The manner in which he passed, as Ghanaians, as superstitious people, you might

even feel that it not over a natural dead therefore or probably people have hands in

it…my father will tell me that in a situation like this, whoever he wasn’t free with will to a large extent come to mind,” he said.

“I feel it, he’s human, I look at him from an artiste point of view, I have seen his videos I only got to hear his name and know him last two years ago only when Menzgold and Zylofon came to play, I have never heard anybody called Willi Roi before,” he added.

Stonebwoy, however, added that there was nothing like a good relationship between them when

they worked together at Zylofon.

“I don’t have any relationship with him, we have met only once in the office to record a jingle together for a project …and aside that I haven’t had any good relationship with him till today, so in a situation like this do I have to pretend?” he queried.

Background

Willi Roi died on Sunday, February 10, in his apartment at the Royal Richester Hotel at East Legon in Accra.

His body was found by security personnel who were on a routine check.

Controversial social media queen, Rosemond Brown talks about her ‘achievements’. Moreover, she is still on her bragging spree. She isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Furthermore, she had a lot of  achievements ever since she came into the limelight. Also, many of her colleagues in the entertainment industry cannot match it.

She made these statements in an interview with Nana Romeo on his Accra FM mid-morning show. Firstly she stated that her first achievement is her travel to Dubai. Moreover, this is something many of her colleagues in the industry have not done yet. Therefore, she finds it very difficult to understand why they mock and tag her as someone who has achieved nothing in the industry.

Nana Romeo pushed her to mention the names of any celebrity who is worth that tag of a celeb who has not been to Dubai yet. However, Brown failed to mention just a single name. She made the point that if she mentioned any name, people will come for her neck.

Aside from boasting about her paid Dubai trip, Poloo went further to state that her 2019 registered Kia Forte car is one property she has that many others cannot boast of.

He made these statements on the latest episode of the ‘Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix’ show. Furthermore, Dabo revealed the reason many of these people wanted him to quit with the Kofas Media boss. This is because he acted very professionally for him. However, they probably had the notion of screwing him over after they had signed a contract with him for a project.

He stated Kofi Asamoah as his manager always insisted that people who contract him (Yaw Dabo) for any sort of work give him the treatment that is befitting of the status as the star he is. Therefore, this something most of them usually do not like. Hence the result is the badmouthing.

She also adds that wearing blonde hair now is a business decision which should not be misinterpreted and misjudged by others.

“I have never staged a beef with any artist in the industry, be it Shatta or any other person in the industry. All the beefs between I and Shatta Wale were real. I don’t fake beef to create attention for myself,” he stated.

Peter Sedufia Laments Creative Ministry’s Lack Of Interest In “Keteke” At FESPACO

Award-winning movie producer, Peter Sedufia talks about this year’s FESPACO. Moreover, he laments over the government’s failure to sponsor them. Also, their inattention to the film’s involvement in Africa’s largest film festival. FESPACO is the largest film festival in Africa and takes place in Burkina Faso.

According to Peter, the festival selected their movie “Keteke”. Therefore, as a requirement, they were to get sponsorship from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts. This was for some cast and crew as well as send a delegation to support the filmmakers.

However, upon several visits to the Ministry, they were ineffective. Moreover, the French embassy gave the sponsorship for the producer’s trip, which is him.

Peter Sedufia about the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts

“Currently at FESPACO, where it looks like the filmmaking hub of Africa has converged. Most countries whose citizens’ films are in the festival have sent entourage of delegates from their countries to come support their filmmakers in this all important celebration of African cinema. As to how they managed to get their government involved, is another discussion. Back home in my country, Ghana, we sent an official letter to the ministry in charge of our creative industry to inform them of the selection of “#KETEKE” in this prestigious event, and sought for sponsorship to send some of the cast and crew to represent the film just as other countries have done.

Guess what? It has been “go and come, go and come”, till we sent a late letter to the French embassy in Ghana and they accepted to sponsor one of the crew “the producer” to the event. Of course, I am here on the ticket of FESPACO; they could only sponsor one person on the team.
Now, here we are, and all the media outlets, including BBC and the audience keep asking why the lead cast are not present. Then, BBC decided to have a phone interview with the lead actress (@lydiaforson)
And guess what again?
I’m informed that the Rwandan president is arriving in Ougadougou today to join his people to support the Rwandan film in competition at FESPACO. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting to hear from our sector ministry… “
