Who is Heartman?

Heartman is a Ghanaian singer and rapper currently signed to Mzbel’s Beljam Records. Heartman is better known as Heartman fam by his fans. His full name is Heartman Lali Ezuh. Heartman gained more media attention with his 2021 single – For You – which has topped several music charts.

Heartman’s childhood and education

Heartman was born and raised in Hohoe in the Volta region in Ghana. He also had most of his early education there. He attended New Generation Preparatory school and Global Evangelical Academy where he gained his primary education in Juapong in the Volta region.

He however relocated from the Volta region to Greater Accra region where he attended Junior High School.

He started at Rev Herman Osam Affanie School (HOAPSCO) and completed at Pokuase MA School where he acquired his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) certificate.

Heartman further continued to the secondary school at Mawuli Senior High school in Ho and gained his West African Students Certificate Examination (WASSCE) certificate as well.

He then continued to the tertiary level at the Ghana School of Surveying and Mapping to acquire HND in Land survey and mapping.

Music for Heartman started at a tender age, where he used to entertain people with raps from Sarkodie, Edem, Lil Wayne, Jay Z just to mention a few.

He started writing his own lyrics in primary 5. Fast forward in 2015 he started recording his songs.

As an up and coming hip hop/afro pop artist, he made an impressive impact as he has had the opportunity to be on the same platform with artists like Pappy Kojo,Kwaw Kese, Kula, Savaga and Belvan Kadima among others. He has won a couple of awards during his secondary education. He was adjudged best rapper and promising artist of the year 2016/2017 academic year at Mawuli School.

He draws inspiration from artists such as Sarkodie, El, Edem, Stonebwoy and other finest composers. Heartman hopes to break boundaries with his talent not only in Ghana but all over the world.

He’s currently signed unto a Ghanaian base record label and management Beljam Records, owned by Legendary Ghanaian songstress Mzbel

He started his music career in 2021 while still in the university. He got signed to Beljam Records on February 2019 after he was discovered by Mzbel through a rap reality show on Angel TV. Prior to his affiliation with Beljam Records,Managed by Emmanuel Boafo Opare (Mod De) Heartman’s stage name was Lyrics Jay. Heartman’s first hit song was “FOR YOU” which was released in JANUARY 20201.

Ghanaian musician Heartman has briefly opened up on the situation that led to the breakup between his

label boss, Mzbel & her then god-daughter iOna Reine.

During his brief comment  with when asked about what transpired between Mzbel & iOna Reine, Heartman said

that the issue is in the past which he wouldn’t want to be involved in.

But he stressed that he knows for sure there was some sort of ungratefulness somewhere from one side

Heartman further explained that one party showed signs of ungratefulness which led to a big miss of an

opportunity which could’ve gone a long way to do good.

He added that he was there before iOna Reine came into the picture, but was calm & collected since she already had her career moving, therefore was only right she got the help first before him.

But unfortunately as things were moving on well the situation took a different turn at a point.

iOna & Mzbel fell off months ago after Mzbel was seen without her which was rare.

Later, iOna was seen in the company of  Mzbel’s nemesis, Afia Schwarzenegger in her house partying.

This comment from Heartman has however received some mixed reactions from fans of the budding artiste about tagging iOna Reine as being ungrateful.

Meanwhile, Heartman recently released his second single under Beljams records tagged “Clearing Agent” which is so far receiving massive airplay across the country.

Mzbel’s New Artiste Heartman Spotted In ‘Trotro’

Heartman, who is currently signed to Ghanaian songstress, Mzbel’s BelJam Records has been spotted in a

commercial public bus locally known as ‘Trotro’.

In a video making waves on social media, the ‘For You’ singer is seen comfortably relaxing in the bus.

The video has however caught the attention of Mzbel who says the said guy in the bus is not Heartman per

the speculations.


She further issued a disclaimer stating it wasn’t her artiste in the video.

One will say how can a controversial person like Mzbel’s artist be seen in a ‘trotro’ considering the fact that he recently released an expensive video for his official first single tagged ‘For You’.

The video has since been receiving massive airplay on various radio and television stations across the nation.


Beljam Records introduces signee Heartman with first single #ForYou

On Friday, BelJam Records’s CEO Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah(Mzbel) outdoors her new signee Heartman Lali Ezuh (HeartMan) at an unveiling meeting with the press and industry people.

After successfully dropping his song ‘FOR YOU’, HeartMan, per his new  release, ‘FOR YOU’ has proved that he is ready for the Ghanaian music space and with the least attention could constantly scintillate his fans and Ghanaians with good music.


The HeartMan unveiling meeting hosted a pantheon of stars, some prestigious media personalities and others.

Enthralling his guests,HeartMan exclusively showcased music video for his song as well as he song, the DJ played a snippet of his other yet to release singles to introduce him to the press and his fans.

Aside from his mellifluous voice, brilliant arrangement, and incredible composition, ‘FOR YOU’ is also accompanied by a very beautiful high-quality video.
