“Tomorrow’s Leaders Festival” aiming to better youth leadership development programs in Africa and Jamaica

(Nairobi, Kenya) – Grammy-winning Reggae group Morgan Heritage have launched the “Tomorrow’s Leaders Festival” at Laurette Gardens at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya on June 8, featuring some of the biggest names in Jamaican music and the hottest artist from across Africa. 

The global initiative festival will raise funds and awareness for youth leadership development programs in Africa and Jamaica, with benefactors including Save The Children, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNODC, OXFAM International, Shofco, Joy Divine and others. The full festival line-up will be announced through Morgan Heritage and Official Festival social media and websites.

The “Tomorrow’s Leaders Festival” will be broadcasted live by festival media partner Trace Global Network, covering more than 160 countries in more than 200 million homes. It will also stream live on YouTube.

“We Morgan Heritage are doing this festival because we’ve identified the need for a conscious effort to be pushed forward to educate, empower and create opportunities that puts the youth on a path toward success for generations to come. So we’re asking the world to help us help the children across Africa and Jamaica where this movement to save a generation has started.” 

The group went on to say;

“Buju Banton and Sauti Sol has not been announced and despite a few people trying to spread news about the final line-up, we assure you that we will not promote any artist that will not appear at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday June 8th”

Morgan Heritage won their first Grammy in 2016 for “Best Reggae Album” for “Strictly Roots” as producer and artist. The band landed their second Grammy nomination for critically acclaimed album “Avrakedabra” in the “Best Reggae Album” category in 2017. Morgan Heritage will release a new album June 21 entitled “LOYALTY” this summer and their world tour starts this summer.

Mzazi Willy M Tuva finally steps in to support Ten Ballz after 8 years of trying to get help

One Kiboma K Chibupa popularly known by his stage name Ten Ballz worldwide is among the top rising stars in the Kenyan music industry thanks to his song Mchezo which has been receiving much airplay in Kenya and Bongo.

However not many know much about the young singer giving many artists a run for their money. Well speaking to the singer, Ten Ballz worldwide got to open up about his childhood and the struggles he faced before to where he is right now.

After finishing his Form four in Tanzania the young man says he did not get the opportunity of furthering his education due to lack of school fees. He was then forced to sell the small piece of land his father left him in-order to see whether he would get an opportunity to join Medicine school in Kenya; and the same time see if he would record a few songs with the little money he would remain with.

He however landed in the wrong hands and the person who was meant to help his music career ended up conning him. Three years down the line he was forced to join a college where he took languages and managed to learn French, Chinese and Italian.

A few years later he the recorded his first successful single dubbed ‘mtoto wa Pwani’ and luckily had J Blessing who shot the visuals to this song.

Seeing that his career had potential to grow, Ten Ballz world says he went on to form a band which did not last for long. At this particular time the singer says he had already recorded two albums with a rapper from Denmark but unfortunately his producer’s hard disk got spoilt.

With the problems attacking him from left, right and center the singer then took a whole year-break; and now he is back with yet a new project that will see him on top music charts in the country.

The audio ‘Shakara’ was recorded in Bongo and the vsuals done in Kenya. Hopefully this will be his final breakthrough now that Kenyan music is getting back to where it used to be!

Harmonize slams Diamond Platnumz after revealing his Italian fiancé had an affair with body guard ‘Mwarabu’

Singer Harmonize called out his Wasafi records boss Diamond Platnumz for sharing private information about his fiancé, Sarah Michelloti – on his new song inama featuring Fally Ipupa.

In the song Diamond Platnumz confirms that indeed Wasafi records body guard Mwarabu was fired following an affair he had with Harmonize’s fiancé.

This comes a few months after Mange Kimambi went on to share this information on Instagram; however Harmonize and Sarah denied the claims – only for Diamond Platnumz to confirm that the affair rumors were true in his new hit song.

For the past few days many have been talking about Zari and Diamond Platnumz following a few confessions by the Bongo star.

Well, apparently after leaving fans speculating as to why Diamond Platnumz was being unfaithful to Zari; the singer finally opened up saying that his baby mama had been cheating on him with Peter from P-Square and at the same time her personal trainer.

Apparently he came across a text on Zari’s phone that confirmed his fear. Later on, he realized that Zari was also getting intimate with her personal trainer in their bed back in Tanzania whenever he was not around.

According to an interview done by Diamond, we understand that he accused Zari Hassan of cheating on him with her personal trainer and Peter from Psquare.

According to Victoria Kimani, she is currently single but is interested in a man who she thinks hasn’t noticed her yet. She went on to say;

“I’m not dating anyone, there’s someone that I want to date but I don’t really think he wants to date me. I think I go for the wrong kind of guys. I think I go for bad boys and that’s not good. Swag successful, he needs to look good have a little bit of money he can’t be broke or if you’re broke, No you can’t be broke I’m sorry, I really am. I can’t. Unlike many, Christine Muthoni had a humble background as she grew up in Mathare slums. This enabled her to focus on bigger things in life and after everything she now among the top female DJ’s in the country.

The lovely lady started Djing 4yrs ago; this is after sharing her passion for music and deejaying with her friend, dj ruffcutt back in 2013. He then trained her with the help of Dj Dan mixa for about 5 months;  but things did not work out as planned since at that time she was a sales person at a certain company and couldn’t put all her focus on djing.

However, in 2015 Christine enrolled at a dj school where she underwent a 3 months training which kick started her career. So far she has shared stages with diffrent artists and djs in the 4yrs she has been in the game; and Christine can now happily say she is a full time dj. 

So far she has worked with Nonini’s Pro Habo Ent which helped her during the beginning of her career and has also worked as a resident dj at a high end club for about 1 year now.

Anyway when she is free the lovely DJ is a full time mum to her baby girl, Breana.

Kenya has been known as the home of sports men and women for some years now. Thanks to the likes of Zarika and many others who are passionate about sports; we can all agree that Kenya is giving many a run for their money in the work of sports.

Well, another team of three young men; Brian Serete 18 yrs, Martin Achebi 18yrs and Javan Buyu 22yrs Kenya has once again been put on the map. The three are specialists at Thai; a sport that has been in existence for sometime in kenya now.

About Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.

This sport has been made possible thanks to Maurice who has paved a way for youths from Kibera and Kayole to participate in this sport at Ultra Fitness gym located at Adams.

After years of training and perfection with Ultra Fitness Gym; The Boys, Brian Serete, Martin Achebi and Javan Buyu are now set to be the first kenyans representing Kenya in Muay thai Boxing in the 2020 Olympics thanks to Sport Pesa who are sponsoring them to train in phuket and participate in an upcoming Tournament.

Well, for sometime now Willy Paul has been releasing confusing songs and for a minute fans started assuming he had officially shifted to making secular music.

His latest song Halleluyah has also left many wondering where to categorize it. However thanks to an recent interview where he was asked;

“Watu wengine wamezungumzia nyimbo yako ya Halleluyah featuring Nandy kuwa Jina pekee ndo gospel hili unasema aje?

He then went ahead to explain that this is a love song by saying;

“It’s not a gospel song, but ni Love song, alafu you know mimi ni artiste naruhusiwa kuimba, unajua kwanza nikifanya na Rayvvany watu walishangaa sana, nimefanya na Nandy pia wameshangaa, sasa jua wameshangaa ya kutosha sijui next project watafanya nini sasa”.

 

This is however not the first time the controversial artist is showing sings of shifting to the secular side.

So far he has worked with a few secular artists including those signed under Wasafi records and probably soon he will announce his retirement from making gospel singer.

Diana Marua shares emotional message to celebrate her late mum

Bahati’s wife Diana Marua recently opened up about her mum and for the very first time we understand why she rarely shares photos of Heaven hanging out with her grandmother.

According to her post, Diana Marua’s mum passed on 10 years ago and all she has now is happy memories that keep her going.

Even with her mum gone she continues to celebrate her birthday each year. Thanks to her new post we learn that Diana Marua’s late mum would have turned 50 years.

To mark this special occasion Bahati’s wife posted the message below saying;

Happy 50th Birthday Mama ❤ I don’t have too many photos of us but the memories of you is what lingers on. It’s been 10 Solid years without you… Life has given me its share of its own kind and every day I go through it with my head up and a smile that never fades. Your presence is always felt and I have no doubt in my mind that you are very proud of us…How I wish that you were around to see your grandchildren (Morgan, Remy, Blake, Blair and Heaven), be physically in our lives and celebrate this big day with you… but regardless, God is good! Wema Sepetu rushed to hospital due to High blood pressure after lesbianism rumors

Wema Sepetu is undeniably not having it any easy especially after her mum exposed her online. Well apparently Wema Sepetu is now a full blown lesbian and even has a girlfriend she has been living with.

Judging from an audio of Sepetu’s mum leaked online; one cant help but pitty the old lady who has been standing in for her daughter for quite a long time.

From the audio mama Wema Sepetu is heard asking Sepetu’s friends to talk to her daughter who seems to be losing herself. Just like any parent, it’s clear to see that the lady is not ready to accept the fact that her daughter now prefers fellow women to men.

Hypertension 

Anyway word making rounds on social media is that Wema Sepetu is now under serious treatment after her blood pressure went up. 

Apparently she was affected by the nasty comments left by fans who couldn’t hold back from bashing her for practicing lesbianism.

This led her to being hospitalized and according to TZ shaderoom, Sepetu’s mum is now arguing all gossip tabloids to hold off from attacking her daughter whose health condition seems unstable at the moment.

In her capacity as a High Level Influencer for the UNHCR, Pinky Ghelani launched ​The Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative​ to support refugee women in Kenya.

The initiative was launched at a brunch rightfully titled ​The Power Of Her​, as it saw powerful and influential women gather at The Trademark Hotel to witness and participate in this launch.

Laura Ekumbo, Aleya Kassam & Anne Moraa of the LAM Sisterhood move the attendees with powerful poetry.

The Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative aims to raise Ksh. 5 Million this year. In this light, the brunch was the first of a series that seeks to gather smaller groups with high influence with a common and joint aim to raise the dignity of displaced women and children.


All funds pledged and contributed will go toward furthering UNHCR activities aimed at empowering the refugee women such as business, vocational and entrepreneurial training; cash grants & market networks.
