Muhadhara hitmaker, Jimmy Gait has hit the headlines after strangely going under for a while before resurfacing with unknown details of a sickness he has been battling all along.
Last week, he traveled to India to seek further treatment after misdiagnosis by local doctors. The gospel singer was repeatedly advised to undergo throat surgery locally.
Through his You Tube channel, Jimmy Gait is giving family, friends and fans updates on his treatment and well being.
Misdiagnosis
He opens up about a time he contacted doctors in Nairobi about his problem, who kept giving him medication but the problem still persisted.
So he eventually came across an ENT doctor who advised him to get a surgery for his throat but the gospel artist failed to believe, until a different doctor told him the same.

These doctors were so transactional. They quoted for me figures that were so high. It was not about helping me, but how much money they would get.
Therefore, basing on this, he became very skeptical and decided to seek another doctor’s opinion, but this time, from the International scope.
Re-diagnosis
And through an agency that facilitated his travel to India, the hospital he is currently in, is where the agency brought him into and he believes it so far is the best he could ever get.
But that’s just tip of the iceberg. What was most shocking for him is when the doctor in India told him:
Listen, James, the operation that was to be done on you, would have made you never sing again. Because your voice would have permanently changed. And to me that was very very shocking, I could not believe it.

What is most disappointing is fact that even after repeatedly asking local doctors if he would be able to sing after the surgery, they kept telling him YES. Only to turn out as a deceptive measure.
So the doctor in India advised they should run him through a myriad of tests and scans to be able to determine the root cause of his problem. Which turned out successful.
All these are receipts of the bills I paid and I kept wondering why they are doing so many tests on me. But the doctor told me, “Look, here we don’t trade or recommend any treatment until we have seriously tested a patient”.
Jimmy Gait closes up by sharing the test results with the public. But first, he is grateful the surgery was ruled out.

In a video clip that features his doctor in India, a different diagnosis came up.
I found that the throat problem appeared like it was predominant but because of increased acid production inside the stomach and into the complains in the throat and in his voice also. So, we found the infection, we treated it and we have given him treatment, and luckily he’s doing very well with the treatment. This would be my advice to doctors all across: If the patient is not improving, maybe once or twice, then move according to the clinical judgement and do perform other tests that are required.
However, as he concludes, the Kenyan singer hopes to return back home but reveals he will have to stay in India probably 6 weeks or so, for review purposes.
The shocking thing is that first the Kenyan doctors misdiagnosed me and if they did a surgery on me, the problem would now have graduated into stomach cancer….Aargh! Hiyo story just shocked me. That a doctor would rather make money from me, than give me proper treatment.

Just yesterday, youthful comedian, Chipukeezy shook the Internet after announcing his departure from his host home, Ebru TV.
This was over an argument with the management concerning his kind of ‘ghetto’ content to the viewers, with the main focus being on upcoming comedian, Kartelo. The two co-host a weekly show on Ebru TV.
According to Chipukeezy, if Kartelo is leaving, so is he. This attracted fury from Kenyans who declared they will boycott the local TV station if Chipukeezy exits.
The issue has been trending for the last couple of hours since Chipukeezy broke the news and fellow comedians, Eric Omondi and Teacher Wanjiku have reacted on the same.
What comes out is accusations fired towards Ebru TV for allegedly frustrating and mistreating its very own employees.

President of comedy, Eric Omondi disclosed that not once nor twice, did Chipukeezy call him to express the frustrations he was facing under Ebru TV’s management.
Eric recalls a time when he personally witnessed guards at the gate literally harass Chipukeezy for carrying ‘vijana strange’ as he pens:
I can not count the number of times Chipukeezy called me to Cry, Lament and Complain about Mistreatments and Frustrations at Ebru. Shika is a Swahili word meaning hold. We are only left to find out what it means in Darassa’s work as we know he is always full of surprises. Although he takes quit sometime before releasing songs, he always has a way to people’s hearts due to the great poetic lines.
I know most people prefer to listen to his work rather than the most common things other artist have. The duo has delivered this song with a lot of love and energy. The mastery of the lyrics and beats is just wow. I can listen to this dudes work over and over again. The duo compliments each other giving this jam Shika their best and the best feel.
What is ‘Shika’ all about?

Nyashinski is back with a new single Balance. He has been away from the music scene for some few months. One thing we know for sure is that he always comes back with a bang. Balance is just a new hit and I can assure you that it is worth your time.
Nyashinski is one talented guy and I think he always tries to give his fans his best. I would spend a whole 24 hours listening to his work. Also, he has proved that he can always do better whether in a collaboration or as a solo artist.

Mathogothanio by KRG The Don , Boondocks Gang and Dj Lyta is the newest jam in town. The word Mathogothanio is a Kikuyu word which is simply used to imply disturbance. The way it gets to be a song is just funny. The Kenya Dancehall King teams up with the Gengetone group Boondocks Gang. The trio performs so well in this song.
Although the song feels like a kikuyu jam, it gets better as you listen to it. You all know how Boondocks Gang team does it. It is just nice. Guthigithigi mathogothanio guthigitha…. If you understand this, it somehow feels like a tongue twister. I am almost biting my tongue.
When listening to this song it makes me feel like Boondocks Gang is the only group that will survive this journey.
Of late Dj Lyta has been collaborating so much. Could this be a way of selling himself ? Anyway find out. It is not a wonder that he easily fits in this kind of this. It is good to be a jack of all trades. He should also give us a single.
What is the relevance of ‘Mathogothanio’?
KRG The Don is known for his good work as well as the Boondocks Gand and Dj Lyta. Although they are good, it is sad that they can only target a small group of the country’s population. Why do I say so? This kind of music is only felt in Nairobi and the surroundings. Going upcountry people do not even recognize them.
It is then right to say that this jam is relevant to the young generation aged between 22 and below. This is the high school and campus generation.

What inspires Kenyan Musicians stage names? Kenyan music is really trending and also an inspiration to some people around the world.
It has really been a struggle trying to keep the name up there. Majorly because of poor marketing in our own local stations. As time passes the debate and cries of musicians have been heard. As we can see lately, our music being well marketed in our own local channels.
Why some of this stage names?
Majority of the Kenyan artists do not use their real names or stage. Besides a few in which majority are the gospel artists. We find that most of the secular artists names tend to have been derived from sources, which we can not by ourselves understand why.
Looking deep into the secular industry most of the musicians are risen talents from the ghetto life. Many of the ghetto risen musicians tend to have names they call ‘mtaani’ names.
Some are nicknames from friends or family, majority of the slang names have a meaning with the a sheng versions of it. In such a scenario we can say perhaps they do so to remind themselves where they came from.
Kenyan musicians on the other hand especially the young upcoming artists, on my opinion they do random lifting of names perhaps from vocabularies just to capture attention. Taking an example of “Ethic, Sailors, among others whatever the content they happen to sing in the secular industry is not what their names perhaps mean or should be delivering to their audiences.
Another lot is that group which just comes with random names that even we can’t tell what is their inspiration? Should we call this the lost lot? Like Mr Yoo, we can’t even tell the reason behind such a name on stage. Majority of the musicians have random names which they can’t tell what the names on stage mean.
On the other hand to sell into music or rather to capture fans attention, we must agree this weird names serve them well.
Does a stage name really matter?
Among other people those names serve them well and thus they enable them have lots of fans. Looking back some musicians like the likes of Nyota Ndogo, Jua Kali, Nameless, this are among the few names which we can tell a meaning. This stage names are more of attention and that’s what enables them to get known.
After all it is all about how they sell to attract the public otherwise we can as well call it a waste of time and resources. Should we confront a number of them and get their opinions on the same? Perhaps it will serve our question better which you and me can’t resolve now.

Wabebe is the new jam by Willis Raburu, Lofe and Boondocks Gang. Willis is a news anchor and entertainment host at Citizen TV. He is know more for his ratchet show 10/10. Also he is fond of using the word Wabebe on the 10/10 show to hype the crowd. It is something that the show which is majorly for the the youth has adopted.
The show focuses more on upcoming artists. Lofe and the Boondocks Gang have been to the show with the wild Willis Raburu. It is so funny how a simple word like Wabebe is now a song. Is it this easy to come up with a song?
Relevance of the song ‘Wabebe’
To start with this song is very ratchet just like the show it is trying to promote. One is left wondering what Wabebe a Swahili word means in this context. Looking at the video it is about a very ratchet dance. Girls grinding their asses on young boys fronts.
First there is this part where a dude is squatting and a lady is passing by and he looks her down there. Come on is this what we call music? This is very wrong, we need sane music. The fact that the song already has twerks that scene is inappropriate.
Also some lines delivered in Kikuyu where the guy says Kai ndi na ngoma, comora njora; If he has demons and goes ahead to say remove the sword. What is referred to as a sword is something that you wouldn’t want to imagine.
Wabebe has been produced by Akish Prod and dance video done by Lofe moneymall . In addition to the talent shown, it is always good to promote them but they need to give something worth ones efforts.
In conclusion Wabebe simply means carry them. I know you’ll term that meaning as a direct translation. Last but bot least the jam gets a rating of 5/10.
Boondocks Gang and Magix Enga have a new jam dubbed Rewind It. Boondocks Gang and the re known producer Magix Enga have done a great jam in this audio. The young talents have been in the limelight for sometime and they have been producing music like weekly.
Shockingly you will be surprised that this song is no exception from their previous work. Their topics revolve around women and drugs. We need to change this. The only thing that keeps people glued to this kids work is their prowess in sheng’. I can assure you that most people will not even get to listen to this song.
Although they seem to have a given target audience, their energy does not go unnoticed. They have kept their fans entertained and this consistency keeps them at the forefront. It is a great thing and we have to listen to what they will sing.
Relevance of the song ‘Rewind It’
First the song is relevant to the young generation below the age of 23. Why do I say so? You will not find our mum or dads listening to this. Also when you get to the villages some of this people are not even known. They are only household names here in the city.
Rewind It first is a very good title. Rewind means taking back to the previous one. In this case whatever they are rewinding remains unknown only the video can tell. The collaboration between Magix Enga ought to have given us something better than this Rewind It jam.
Also the kind of energy displayed in this audio is worth it. The way the group performs the jam is super good. There is good flow of words and lines. We cannot forget the beats. They are in sync and am sure you will even have dance before the video is out. In conclusion, Magix Enga is a good producer. The jam gets a rating of 6/10.
