Bahati’s Peter Blessing blesses us with ‘Bado Nasubiri”

For the better part of the year, Bahati has been on the receiving end. This was after all his artists under EMB records exited from the label.

Reasons? Some remain unknown to date. However with the shake up in the label,Bahati has unveiled a new artist under his record namely Peter Blessing.

Peter hails from Taita Taveta County and truth be told the boy posses beautiful vocals and rhythm. We will get to know Peter Blessing as time goes by.

For now we break down the new Jam by Peter Blessing titled “Bado Nasubiri”.

Bado Nasubiri is Swahili for I am still waiting.

This is a gospel song that Portrays the hardships  one has to go through in life before making it in life.

Further it brings out the need of trusting in God for that life pushes towards you no matter the challenges.

There is a point where he says, Maisha haya ya kizungu nzungu Ni wapi tena? Sina pa kutorokea(mmh mmh) Kwenye giza sioni nuru Ni nini chanzo? Nabaki nikijiongelea…..

He is wholeheartedly seeking God’s intervention in his life’s frustration. Sometimes life becomes a very hard tussle and giving up seems to be the only option.

However, from this song their is the urge to keep hoping and believing and  clearly that is what everybody needs in life.

Well, I must say Peter Blessing  has outdone himself in this jam we hope for more. More talent, more music and more growth,

Message

The song carries a strong message that most first children of most families go through. Essentially, in most places, it is believed that every first child of the family acts as a co-parent.

On the other hand societal pressures of helping out in the family is well depicted in this music video.

Despite the hardships that life has been put before the  character in the song for him a”Nasubiri Bado” .

In his faith and trust, he believes that God will be his only source of breakthrough. I know this is what most of  us pray for on a daily basis.

Production

The song was produced under Bahati’s EMB records.  It was shot  and directed by super director X-Antonio. I must stay this guy is pure talent. Furthermore with such talent I believe Bahati is back on track when it comes to supporting upcoming talent.

In the meantime for rating purposes I will go with 7/10.

Weezdom finally begs Bahati for forgiveness as he hopes to rejoin EMB records!

Gospel singer Weezdom has bowed down and asked his former boss to forgive him through his Instagram page.

This comes 2 years after Weezdom publicly quit working under Bahati as he claimed that Diana Marua was too controlling.

This move however saw his friendship with the mama hit maker slowly fade away but now Weezdom says he was at fault and hopes Bahati will forgive him.

According to Weezdom, things have not been quite well for him, Mr Seed and  David Wonder.

He however wishes that Bahati will find it in his heart and forgive him for everything he said and did in the past.

But as the scripture says….. God has used Peter to remind me a lot about being grateful and I strongly believe #EMB is my home. In the comment section seems that some fans bought his statement however some saw this as a staged move like the Bahati Reality show.

 

The ‘Wondering’ David, a story to tell

When you here ‘Wondering’ David, what comes to your mind? David Junior Odera is his official name. He is a Kenyan gospel artist. What you didn’t know is that this guy was natured by Bahati. Did I say Bahati? Ooh! yes I did.

His is a journey that has come from far, low self-esteem, struggling to rise musically and here comes a saviour in the name of Bahati. In an interview with Buzz Magazine, he says that when he was venting to Bahati, he told him that he is a product of God’s wonders.

People come from far and David is not an exception. He started practicing his music career long ago. Him and his friends formed a band that always performed in Our Spirit of Faith Pentecostal church in Baba Dogo and in other small gigs.

He started pursuing his music career immediately after high school. Well, this was at quit a young age.

David Wonder as a beautician?

You won’t believe this, but this guy has worked as a beautician. For sure Nairobi ni Shamba la mawe nothing comes easy. This is after he come from his dad’s village in Awendo, Migori county. He worked for long hours in the salon every day.

But in June 2015, he started his journey of contacting Bahati who owns EMB records. Yes, this is where he was embraced. Although he was able to get into contact with Bahati, he says it didn’t come easy.

Music Career

David Wonder has had a home at EMB records where he did a couple of songs. He has been in the industry for some time now. Wonders is now working with Safri Records. He has grown so much that he can now concentrate on his gospel career. Also, did the song Ndogo ndogo in 2017 together with Bahati. The song went viral and boom! Ndogo  ndogo was his first jam.

He has done other jams from then and he has been doing well. Some of his songs include; Mgani, washangaze and msalaba. Wonder has also done collaborations like; Asifiwe with Mr.Seed, Nipende with Bahati and many others.

Wonders ditched EMB earlier this year and this is a house that built him. Anyway, lets not dwell on the past, Wonder is doing wonders out here. I must say this that this guy is talented and all he needs to do is just put more effort.

The gospel industry is not for the faint hearts. He is good at what he does and am sure he will go far. Lets support this small boys in the industry.

Bahati’s reality show appears to be doing quite fine despite a few fans claiming the show is scripted.

So far many agree that the couple keeps them entertained and this is why their season two is currently airing on popular TV station.

During the recent episode shared on the couples Instagram pages; we yet again see Bahati and his wife arguing over who is to clean their house.

Bahati is seen walking in his untidy home and then turns to pick a fight his wife;

“This is the Ghetto president residences Hakuwezi kukaa hivi upside down, Whats not happening, Beb hii Nyumba ni chafu. Vile nyumba inakaa…”

Being pregnant and a little cranky Diana Marua jumps in and responds;

“Kaa nyumba ni chafu twende wote tukaitengenezee, si wezi osha nyumba pekee yangu. Let me tell you something, sijui mbona unapenda kuchukua advantage ya zile situation mimi hukua.”

Rushed baby number two?

Having welcomed their first child in 2018, Diana Marua goes ahead to confess that Bahati rushed her to have their second baby and still expected her to do the house chores – which was impossible but due to her current state.

“You can’t be telling me tutakula mapenzi, Mbona uliharakisha tupate Baby number two, si wewe ndo ulitaka baby number two and then right now you are leaving everything to me. Who is the pregnant one here? Let’s go and make that house together. Kwa hivyo unipatia mimba, nijibebee na nijishughulikie sindio?.”

Judging from the comments left by fans under Diana’s Instagram post, seems that their fans felt that this episode was scripted and nothing about it felt real…do you agree?

The Bahati’s are definitely out to expand their family! It’s barely 2 years since Diana Marua welcomed her first child with Bahati and is now pregnant with their second baby.

The two shocked many for pulling the 2 under 2 children plan that scares most parents. However judging from the photos shared by Diana Marua it seems that she has managed to handle this pregnancy unlike the first one.

This time around the lady is quite active and lively making second pregnancy look easy; and for this reason Bahati has found the courage to ask for a 3rd child as soon as they welcome their second baby.

Marua went on to reveal this on her Instagram page where she wrote saying;

You will finish me oooh! Ati @BahatiKenya still wants a third child after this pregnancy Someone please support me by commenting a big “No”

With todays economy, only the rich can afford to have back to back babies; but also looking at  the money Bahati now has…then he is capable of supporting and having more than 5 kids!

 

Are Kenyan gospel musicians asleep?

I honestly feel like Kenyan gospel musicians are deep in slumber. I’m saying this because I feel that the gospel industry is not as vibrant as it was a few years ago. I feel like it has stagnated.

If you are an avid fan of Kenyan music then I’m sure you remember how the gospel industry was big five to ten years ago. Can you?

The gospel industry was so enormous so much so that secular artists were almost unheard of, no one even cared about them or what they were up.

The biggest song in the country at any given time was from the likes of DK Kwenye Beat, Juliani, Willy Paul, M.O.G, Benachi, Daddy Owen, Bahati, Gloria Muliro, Eunice Njeri, Mercy Masika etc.

I don’t know what happened but somewhere along the way, the secular industry overtook took over. We can debate about this until the come home but deep down you also know that this is a fact.

The gospel music is not what it was five to ten years and this begs begs the question, are Kenyan gospel musicians asleep, did they get too comfortable or are they just lazy?

I know it’s not a competition between the two sides. After all, they are all Kenyan. As a Christian, it just gives me comfort when the gospel industry is at the top.

Don’t get me wrong, I listen to a lot of secular music. Yup! From Sauti Sol to Ethic, anything goes. I have nothing against secular musicians.

It’s just I really miss that days when gospel music was the order of the day. Those days when gospel gigs had the biggest crowds. The days when gospel musicians were really praising God with music.

This is a clarion call to all Kenyan gospel musicians. Enough said!

´Being Bahati´ show on NTV was one that sparked mixed reactions from fans, majority in dislike, others in love but Bahati unveils his new ´Bahati Reality´ show that has received worse reception.

Soon after it´s season finale, fans felt quite relieved with a heavy burden taken off their backs but hardly did we know.

This was news revealed by the local major broadcaster for his show, NTV, disclosing:

The show´s season premiere is expected to kick off this Saturday, 18th of May as from 7:30 pm.

Reception

However, before it even gets aired, fans believe it is just a waste of time and resources both from NTV, Bahati himself as well as to the audience at large.

They actually rubbish it off with comments suggesting:

That’s great. Coincides with the day I stop watching NTV.

Mr Seed’s star is still shining even after ditching Bahati and we’re not surprised

When Moses Tarus Omondi, alias Mr. Seed, announced that he was leaving Eastlands Most Beloved (EMB) Records on January 29 this year, many thought it was a suicidal career move.

His future looked bleak because award-winning Bahati, who owns the record label, had managed to bring him back from oblivion.

You see, the relationship between Mr. Seed and Bahati is very interesting so much so that someone should write a book about it.

Maybe you are aware of this, maybe you aren’t but perhaps you should know that Mr. Seed introduced Bahati to the local music industry.

As fate would have it, Bahati became so big that he had to help Mr. Seed rebuild his music career through EMB Records.

After two years at the stable, Mr. Seed announced that he had decided to go independent so as to to pave way for upcoming artists who needed the platform to grow.

His departure from EMB Records seemed like a rushed decision particularly because there were rumors that he got upset after Bahati kicked out his girlfriend Nimo Gachuiri during an event in Thika.

Most music fans thought that he was done for good since he had fallen out with Bahati who had played a big role in bringing him back to the music scene.

Truth is, Mr Seed has been more successful after leaving EMB Records. His star is still shining, some people would say that it’s even brighter. Perhaps it was not a terrible decision after all.

Apart form opening a new record label, Mr Seed has released three new songs since he left EMB Records, including a collabo with the one and only Solomon Mkubwa. That’s no mean feat!

He seems to be doing well unlike most Kenyan artists who disappear from the music scene after leaving their stables.

It’s almost as if he has a new song every month. Just recently, he  had a concert dubbed Made in Huruma which did exceptionally well.

Right into their Dubai tour earlier in the month, Diana Marua and Bahati flooded social media with romantic yet revealing photos that ignited Diana´s pregnancy rumors that are actually true.

An undisclosed source shares that the mother of 2 is actually expectant and in her 2nd Trimester.

She is excited and cannot wait.

Diana Marua graces the front of this months “True Love East Africa Magazine” with a cover story that cheers the way she balances her marriage, motherhood in front of a camera and lastly how she dealt with her troubled childhood.

The magazine revealed the cover on Monday morning before the lass also shared it on her Instagram page.

Judging from Marua’s caption, we indeed understand that getting this gig was a big deal for her. She goes on to thank God for opening doors of opportunity and also for the strength of balancing both work and motherhood.

Kenyans now relieved after ¨Being Bahati¨ Show Season 3 is terminated

Kenyan Reality TV Show, ¨Being Bahati¨ Season 3 just came to a close but Kenyans feel it was a burden to them, and are now glad it is over.

The news was shared on Bahati´s Instagram post that reads:

¨Being Bahati¨ show is one that basically speaks about family life [Bahati and Diana Marua], their challenges, fun times, bringing up children and discussing private issues.

The show stars gospel artist, Bahati and wife, Diana Marua in most cases.

Even during its inaugural episode, back in August 2018, Kenyans were never amused by the show, not meeting their expectations.

Gospel artist, Bahati reveals founding and managing EMB record label has cost him enormous financial handicaps

Just yesterday, EMB record label launched its rebirth at KICC but founder, Bahati emotionally reveals his loss of 6 M plus, while trying to manage his artists.

In an exclusive interview with KISS 100, the EMB records King shared how tough it has been to manage artists, who only bring few returns.

Since the beginning of the year, the record label has witnessed artists walk out from the label, for one reason or another.

Reality TV Show ´Being Bahati´ has sure revealed what goes on in the Palace with the most recent revelation being Diana Marua´s new TV show.

In an episode of Bahati´s Reality TV show, Diana reveals she is seeking to have her on Talk Show that will focus on Fashion and Lifestyle.

If you are thinking about marrying gospel singer Bahati, you better think again. And again.

Someone who has married him says it’s one of the toughest things you can do to yourself. According to Bahati’s wife, marrying the 25-year-old singer is a bit scaring because of the scrutiny he gets online.

“It is challenging for me because Bahati is a public figure. for him, I think he is used to bloggers and all these people and being scrutinized over small things. One thing that has helped me is that we are blind to haters , said the mother of one.

The two have been attacked numerous times online especially over their age difference. Diana Marua is older than Baba Heaven by a few years. Many have labelled her a cougar.

“Our age difference has been a huge factor out here but then again everyone has their own life. this is my life with him so live yours we know how we love each other so leave us and our age difference,”she added.

Alvindo’s ‘Taka Taka’ is almost hitting a million views but it’s still trash

I was recently astounded when I discovered that Taka Taka, a song by an up and coming musician named Alvin, alias Alvindo, is at 910,000 views on YouTube, just 90,000 views shy of the 1 million mark.

Any Kenyan musician, save for Sauti Sol, Willy Paul, Otile Brown and Nyashinki, will tell you for free that getting a million views on YouTube is such an uphill task. Most of them of dream of getting there organically. Of course, there’s always the easier option of buying views. Hi Octopizzo!

To put this into better perspective, I’ll give you some examples. You know Machozi, one of the songs that made Bahati a household name? It’s still stuck at 945,000 views 5 years after it was released.

Talented singers like Phy, Dela, Wangeci, Fena, P Unit, Masauti have never crossed the one million mark on YouTube despite all the great songs that they’ve composed over the years. I’m sure they dream of that day! It’s coming people!

As such, you would understand my frustration when I learnt that Taka Taka is almost hitting 1 million views barely two months after it was released. Mark you, the song does not even have a video.

To be honest, this was such an effortless song. Alvindo made a beat on his phone and came up with the lyrics after his girlfriend dumped him. To this extent, you can argue that the song had some inspiration. He included some abusive words and the song was good to go. There was no thought process behind it, none at all.

You see, I’m not in the habit of celebrating sub-standard content. It is for this reason that I feel that it should not have as many views. Kenyans seem to be glorifying trash music at the expense of magnificent content.

In as much as the beat, which was later polished by Magix Enga, is on point I still feel that the song is below average and should not be getting this kind of attention.

And no, I’m not jealous of Alvindo’s success seeing as Taka Taka, which is Swahili for trash, was his first song. There’s a level of mediocrity that I can stand, this song stretches it too far.

But then again, you could argue that the song was so bad that it had to stand out. What do you think? Leave a comment below.

Bahati this last weekend shared quite a long story talking about how he helped his former EMB signed artists.

According to his posts, Bahati confessed to have always helped the likes of David Wonder and Mr Seed. Bahati says that they never made any profits but he only suffered loses since the artists he had signed did not bring in cash.

The gospel artist went on to “shame” his former buddies in a way not many would expect.

However turns out that Mr Seed’s girlfriend had been following up on the story through her Instagram page.

Having seen what Bahati wrote about her man, Nimo Gachuiri left several detailed comments correcting Bahati.

Nimo Gachuiri denied everything Bahati had been saying about her baby’s father and David Wonder since she witnessed it all. In fact according to the new Mum in town; Bahati was the only one who benefited from the hard work Seed and the others put into EMB records.

Social media users following both Bahati and DK Kwenye Beat have come forth to express their disappointment after the two artists dropped their latest song dubbed sorry.

According to most this is just another strategy for the artist to seek attention while making money at it.

Some went on to drop comments saying Bahati was no different from DK Kwenye Beat; who a few weeks was accused of infecting a 20 year old with herpes.

Judging from the comments left by fans; most seem to believe that the new sorry is not issuing any genuine apology. Instead DK Kwenye Beat was mislead by Bahati to ride on the negative vibe that left him trending after the heroes story.

Gospel singer Kevin Bahati might appear like a very sociable person but the truth is that he is one of the most arrogant and snobbish celebrities in Kenya. He’s on the list somewhere next to Victoria Kimani.

Interestingly, his nemesis Willy Paul, who is seen as proud by many people, is actually the most affable public figure that you’ll ever come across. But that’s a story for another day.

Bahati, who fondly refers to himself as mtoto wa mama, is excessively proud. If you have a good eye, you’ll see some elements of this in his demeanour.

I interviewed the singer on several occasions while I was working for a media house a few years back and he always had this “please wrap up, I have better things to do” every single time. Many have had the same experience with him.

I once attended a presser where Bahati used offensive words while dismissing someone, presumably his fan, for fielding an “irrelevant question”. Never mind the fact that he was in the full glare of cameras.

If you randomly bump into him in public, chances are he will drive away or he will keep a straight face to ‘politely’ inform you that you should stay in your lane.

While he’s extremely conceited, Bahati is on many occasions forced to pretend that he’s the most easy going person because one of the pillars of Christianity is humility.

According to Marua she actually sleeps better and she can’t afford to waste even a minute thinking about it. Well, this is because she believes that God chose her for Bahati. She said;

If at all there’s any Kenyan singer that I regard with disdain then it’s Alex Apoko, alias Ringtone.

Why, you ask? Well, it’s hard to have high regard for someone when they don’t even respect themselves. A male celebrity who is in the habit of poking his nose into people’s affairs is almost unheard of in this day and age.

About a fortnight ago, when DK Kwenye Beat and Hopekid were the talk of the town for infecting a 20-year-old girl with a deadly Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD), Ringtone secured interviews at local TV and radio stations to give a ‘first-hand account’ of what happened.

Apart from landing a slot on Radio Citizen’s Mambo Mseto, Ringtone was also on The Chipukeezy Show, which airs on Ebru TV, to shed more light on the scandal that shook the gospel industry.

Imagine securing an interview on national TV to talk about other people’s affairs instead of promoting your craft. This goes to show that Kenyan musicians are ready to stoop to any level to get some attention.

From his narration, you would be tempted to think that Ringtone was with Hopekid and DK Kwenye Beat when things went down. But he wasn’t. It was all hearsay. He was probably in studio recording another horrible song.

Surprisingly, Ringtone was also aware what caused the fallout between Bahati and Mr. Seed. According to him, the long time friends do not see eye to eye because Diana Marua called the cops on Mr. Seed’s pregnant girlfriend. Even if she did, how is it his business?

But he didn’t stop there, he even used his social media accounts to give Kenyans the latest 411 on the two scandals never mind the fact that none of them involved him.

At this point, I feel we should join hands and ask Groove Awards to introduce a “Gossiper of the Year” category. That way, our boy won’t go home empty handed as he has been in the last few years.

Funnily, Ringtone, who happens to be one of the most controversial gospel artists in Kenya, never talks about his misdemeanors. Like that time when he allegedly impregnated a 22-year-old girl, or that time when he was kicked out for failing to pay rent or how he collided with authorities to evict some mzungu woman from her Karen home.

Diana Marua bullying artists out of her husband’s recording label? She responds

Singer Bahati’s wife has been accused of being the reason gospel artists are dropping off her husband’s music label, EMB.

So far Weezdom, Mr Seed and David Wonder have stopped working under Bahati’s label and now Diana Marua is being accused of pushing these artists away.

According to Weezdom who recently spoke to Mzazi Willy M Tuva; Bahati apparently changed after he married Diana Marua. Weezdom says that they had great plans but the singer’s jealous wife made everything get impossible.

We had a lot of plans for our music but when Diana came into the picture, she was so insecure so everything changed.

With all these stories making rounds on social media, Diana Marua definitely had to say something.

Through her instagram page, the lass posted a quote  saying “ Pillars are meant to stand strong” an indication that she was unbothered about what people were saying.

Her husband is also yet to respond to these accusations linked to his wife…but so far, the Bahati’s seem to be focused on their daughter’s first birthday party.

Lately the gospel industry seems to be having more drama than we would expect. After DK and Hope Kids scandal; Ringtone unleashed information about Bahati and Mr Seed’s fallen friendship.

According to the controversial gospel artist, Bahati and Seed no longer see eye to eye after Diana had Mr Seed’s pregnant wife, Nimu Gachuiri arrested.

This allegedly happened during Bahati’s event on New Year’s Eve; where Seed’s wife had offered herself to sell coffee during the all night event.

Apparently this idea did not excite the Bahati’s. For this reason, Ringtone claims that Diana convinced her husband to call the cops on their pregnant friend.

Cold war! The real reason why Bahati’s baby mamas Diana Marua and Yvette Obura don’t talk to each other

Bahati’s wife Diana Marua and his other baby mama Yvette Obura don’t talk to each other, it appears the two are embroiled in some sort of cold war.

In December 2018, Diana said that she didn’t know Yvette in person while speaking during an interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo.

“We don’t know each other because she was in a relationship with Bahati and when I came in, she was not in his life. Her daughter comes home at least once a week. She is innocent and she doesn’t have to be involved in all what people are saying,” said Diana Marua.

Mueni’s birthday

In a recent interview with Word Is, Yvette Obura revealed that Diana and her don’t talk to each other. She however said that she would have invited her to Mueni’s birthday if they were talking to each other.

“We don’t talk but if we did, I would have invited her. After all, she is the wife to my daughter’s dad, and she bonds and even talks with my daughter,” said Yvette.

So the reason why Bahati’s baby mamas don’t talk to each other is because they have no interest to talk to each other, this despite the fact that Mueni spends time with her father at Diana’s house.
