Being a flash back Friday Ghafla is honored to share a few stories from back in the day; and today we focus on Avril and Jalango who dated back in 2012!
Well, not so many know that singer Avril was once head over heels with Jalango who at the time had started his radio journey!
According to SDE’s Pulse magazine, back in 2012 Jalang’o and Avril kept their relationship a secret for a while before the pair showed up looking all lovey dovey during one of ‘Pulse-Ogopa crew’ getaway weekends, which went down at the Naivasha Lake Crayfish Camp.
The two are said to have been drowning in each other’s love; and the fact that Avril did not want anyone near her man confirms that Jalang’os knows how to treat his women right!
Short lived relationship
Their affair however did not last for long enough to make headlines – but thanks to throwbacks and flash back Fridays; we can now rerun the stories which remind us of how far some of these celebrities have come.
Apart from Avril, the other known lady to have dated Jalang’o is his ex wife and now his current wife, Amina Chao. Well, the list could get longer thanks to Obare’s ‘boys club’ exposè that almost left the radio presenter wife-less!
Looking at Avril’s list, let’s say she had a field day with her dating life; and I bet she has no regrets to this!
Anyway like they say, Nairobi is one big bedroom but truth is; this every town has it’s story!
Ruth Matete prayed for a husband, one she got but way beyond her expectations. Having laid him to rest just yesterday, the singer’s father could hide no more the late Belovedjohn’s unusual character in the dead of the night.
During his speech, Matete’s dad, Mr Abel Amunga narrated how his son-in-law would wake up in he middle of the night to say a prayer and not for Kenya, but for Korea and Japan.
Warring nations, very distant from the African continent but countries that a dear Pastor John would intercede for in his night prayers.
This came out as unusual because the standard way of thinking has been; you must be waking up to intercede for someone close to you – could be a relative, could be a friend but Belovedjohn was an exception.
Last night, my daughter was telling me, this man would wake up in the night and pray for Korea and Japan. How many of you just pray for Pakistan? It sounds weird. What we pray for is, for family members, church members, business, wife, husband…period! This man used to pray for Japan in the dead of the night.
For this peculiar behavior, Matete was worried she married a mad man.
Ruth thought she was married to a mad man. Yes. He was spiritually mad. I celebrate this man. That’s why I cannot wait to see him.
Memorial
The singer’s husband was laid to rest during a difficult time with all these Covid-19 restrictions in place but Mr Abel believes he warrants a more deserving send-off.
Ruth, later, after corona is behind us, we shall organize for a big memorial for this man, even if it will be at KICC or kule stadium, we shall organize. This man has to be celebrated. This man was a dancer, a singer, a fiery preacher, this man was an intercessor.
I have never called him my son-in-law, he is my son. I have never had a son, he is my son. He is the first person who has made me be called, a father-in-law and a grandfather. Ruth congratulations!
Anita Nderu must be a strong woman to be able to maintain her sanity amidst brutal trolls and battling seizures four times in a row, just this year.
The TV girl apparently has a visible scar on her right arm and the big question has been why? Stepping out in a bikini yesterday, Ms Nderu revealed she recently suffered a couple of seizures which ended up tearing apart her skin.
Since January, she has had to live knowing she can experience seizures anytime, fortunately, in the last three occasions she was in the company of someone but she once was alone and it wasn’t good.
I suffer from seizures occasionally. Started this year in January, had four so far. My 2nd and 3rd one were so hectic during that I shattered my right arms humerus into four pieces which were put back together using a titanium plate.
So her most recent seizure roughly a month ago – which is about the same time she was getting hang to dry over her controversial cooking show – tore apart what had been stitched so it had to get redone.
It’s been over a month now, the tear in the stitches scar is because my 4th seizure (the first one where I was alone) was so bad it tore it but it is all healed now.
Medication
Unfortunately, tests have been run but nothing has been established on it’s cause so she has to bear with her condition for the time being.
Already did all the tests necessary, they however cannot find a cause so I live with it now. Medicating daily and taking care of myself.
Meanwhile, her left arm has to take over from where her right arm left.
Still have not managed to resume normal arm function (I am right handed so my left hand has had to make up for all those years of free loading) but getting there I hope that answers any questions related to the injury.
Responding to Amina Abdi Rabar, a dear Anita revealed she will resume duty on August 1 as she waits to see how her healing process goes.
Kwambox has been rumored to be homosexual on numerous occasions with her dance moves fueling further the allegations.
The popular radio personality has shaken the Kenyan space with her conspicuous dance moves, ones that never came with a manual and a choreography that only seems best suited for her.
The lass has however come out to address the claims once and for all, during her recent interview on BillyO’clock. On whether her dance moves are meant to woo women, she bluntly responded:
It’s true! I mean if they say it now, it must be true.
The former Miss Tourism Kenya was not in the business of justifying herself to the public because if that’s what people believe, then so be it!
She however stated that dancing for her is therapeutic, she dances to relieve stress and fight her battles.
For me, it’s a spiritual thing. When you see me dancing, know I’m having big problems. The dance helps me sort of stabilize, however I do it, if it attracts ladies, I’m fine. What can I do?
Homosexual?
Having been challenged with questions around her sexual orientation on numerous occasions, the Vybez Radio breakfast show host clarified that she was done answering such kind of queries.
If I say ´yes´, will this story end? I have answered this question so many times and I’ve given the right answers, I’ve given all the answers. I’d promise my mum I’d never speak about it and I’ll do just that.
However, the bubbly radio girl affirmed she is single and not searching.
After a long wait, Ruth Matete was finally able to grant her late husband a deserving send-off but sad memories of his last days, relived in her once more and she could not help but let the tears flow.
In a touching tribute, Ruth recalled their dreams together, dreams to grow a family, dreams to hold each other’s hands during their old age, but unfortunately, dreams that never got to see the light of day.
In a quick flashback, the singer vividly recalled how Apewajoye’s fatal accident struck just as they had started their days of fasting.
On the third day of praying, the accident happened. My love, I had not seen it coming. I was confident that God would heal you and bring you back to me.
But Matete never gave up, she took up the mantle and said this one prayer to God:
Give him a new skin, a new set of kidneys and heal into every part of his body.
Saturday, after seeing her husband in hospital, Ruth felt a strange coldness in her body all of a sudden. But she dismissed it – assuming it was just probably due to the day’s fatigue.
Unfortunately, that was a sign.
Now I know you were saying goodbye. I went home to sleep and the next day I received a call from the hospital at around 6 am, that I was needed at the hospital. I knew right there…
For the expectant mother, she had made one prayer; that Belovedjohn would come back home to her, fully recovered.
At first I thought God was so unfair but later on I remembered my prayer to God “to heal you completely, to take away the pain and to resurrect with you”. I did mean it that way! Did I pray the wrong prayer? I will never know.
A mistake she made or not, Ruth is at peace knowing that one way or the other, her husband is in a good place.
It might not be the answer I expected or wanted, but it sure is what I asked for. You are no longer in pain and never ever will you be. I know you are happy where you are, even if I asked you to come back to me, you wouldn’t want to.
Ruth Matete has left many in tears following her heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Beloved John Apewajoye’s who died on April 11th.
The pastor who had legally wedded Ruth Matete a few months ago succumbed to burn injuries sustained from the unfortunate gas explosion. at the time of death, the pastor had been receiving treatment at a known hospital in Nairobi; but unfortunately, he did not make it alive.
As his kenyan family gathered for his final send off on July 23, Ruth Matete was given the chance to eulogise her late hubby; and judging from what she said, we can all agree that the singer indeed loved her husband.
It’s a boy!
From what Ruth said, it appears that her husband already knew that his time was up. To prove this, the late pastor had already picked out a name for their unborn child. She went on to open up saying;
Sometimes I feel you when your time had come because of how you had put things in order like naming the baby. We agreed to call him Joshua Toluwa Apewajoye if it’s a boy and Joanna Toluwa Apewajoye if it’s a girl.
Lastly… Ruth went on to mention that they are expecting a baby boy who will be named Joshua which signifies “Yahweh is deliverance” or “salvation.
Miss Ruth said;
It is a boy so he is Joshua. I’ll tell Toluwa of how kind you were pastor Beloved and what a true man of God you were. 2 Corinthians 5:8. Continue being with the lord my darling husband.
Savara Mudigi is sick and tired of Khaligraph Jones consistently pleading with fans to send him money via Mpesa but he is never the one to give!
In an online video, Savara lectures Khaligraph to stop this bull of always being the receiver, telling him it’s the high time others also received, to break the cycle.
Mocking:
Umeskia kwenye mtandao kuna jamaa anapiga kelele sana. Anasema, “tuma kitu, tuma kitu”. Jinga yeye kabisa! Tuma kitu! Wewe unatumiwa tu hautumii wengine?
Maze form sio poa!
Azziad Nasenya is one individual we never saw coming, at least not as fast, and now that she’s here, the world is trying to figure a way out.
Yesterday, the dancer-cum-TV show host brought the Internet to a screeching halt after her ´exaggerated´ rate card charges went viral.
Exhibiting figures like 50k-100k for each of her posts on social media, that has left masses with mouths ajar, some questioning her quality, others thinking she is trying too hard but others, could only cheer her on!
Azziad has fortunately learnt to grow the thick skin over time and things like this do not bother her as much like when she was just starting.
Personally, when I heard that I could only burst out in laughter. So brutal, yet so honest and unwelcoming of people’s opinions who think she gets sleepless night because of their trolls.
Kenyan afro-pop band, Sauti Sol are set to officially launch their new docu-reality show dubbed Sol Family to premiere on our screens come August 2, 2020.

Well, well, well…the juicy part is sure their personal love lives especially for those you rarely get wind of, as Savara Mudigi finally introduces his foreign damsel to the world, gushing:
Yvonne is my girl, Yvonne is my rock mahn! Madem uko nje mmejam, msijali. Maybe tutaachana tu! Wapi?
And for Polycarp, pregnancy struggles have never been better told.
It’s as if we’ll start from scratch watching and listening to a beautiful narrative ever since Sauti Sol’s star shone. I almost can’t wait.
Remember, the story will be told as it is on the ground!
Ruth Matete has heaved a sigh of relief after a prolonged dispute that saw her give up on her husband’s body for burial.
Fortunately, after the long hustle, Belovedjohn Apewajoye’s burial is currently ongoing at Nairobi’s Langata cemetery.
This is after a family spokesperson revealed that Matete today morning picked her husband’s body for burial.
The good news comes weeks after a public appeal from Ruth Matete to assist her in footing mortuary bills that had ballooned over the 3 months her husband’s body was being held back for investigations.
Hopefully, it has all been settled and her late husband can finally rest. Meanwhile, she is expecting her first child with Pastor Belovedjohn.
Relatives and friends of the late Belovedjohn were however not able to make it, basing on the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
Background
Mr Apewajoye’s body had been lying at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) mortuary for at least 3 months now following a fire incident at their house in Gateway Estate, Athi River on March 30.
April 11, the Nigerian pastor succumbed to burn injuries sustained from the unfortunate gas explosion.
Comedian Wakimani who fell into depression after Ayeiya’s family blamed him for his death has opened up for the first time, recalling the fateful day.
On that day, the two comedians were headed for handsome gigs at a local place, with Wakimani having to lend a neighbor’s car to make it for the show. On his way, Ayeiya asked him to pick him up.
In the personal car was Ayeiya, his wife, a friend and Wakimani as the driver, only for the trip to get cut short after the fatal accident.
Soon after, Ayeiya’s wife and her lawyer slapped Wakimani with a letter, demanding a huge sum total as compensation but failure to foot it saw the issue dragged before a court of law.
During his recent interview with Tuko, Paul Wakimani Ogutu admitted that Ayeiya was that one friend who took him from being an armed robber to a man who could lead a decent life.
I was an armed robber at one point in my life. When I was in my lowest moments, this is one friend (Ayeiya) picked me up. After I lost that friend in my own hands, I had so many regrets, I blamed myself for so many things.
So close had they grown, they were open about their salaries and Wakimani clearly knew how much Ayeiya was earning, so getting slapped with a sum of KSh 300,000 monthly was outrageous.
I knew what we were getting paid, it is not a lie! Then someone comes and tells you, “This person used to give us KSh 300,000 a month, so you will pay us that money!”
This saw Wakimani slowly fall into depression to the extent he lost his girlfriend because it had become too much!
It got to a point when I would talk to my girlfriend mpaka akili inapiga miss and that’s how I lost her. From that point, I became a drunkard, depressed and with a lot of questions. I ask myself why I even became a comedian in the first place, I would rather just be suffering like before and Ayeiya would still be alive.
And just like that, Wakimani drowned in alcohol and that’s how he lost everyone!
I relapsed after all this so my friends walked away because they felt I am a liability to them. But one day, I will tell the entire story.
Jeff Koinange yesterday turned interviewee on his JKL show days after testing positive for coronavirus, admitting it has not been anything easy for him.
Victoria Rubadiri who had taken up the mantle interviewed Jeff as he narrated the tough situation that Covid-19 had boxed him into.
Unfortunately, despite being asymptomatic, Jeff revealed he has since lost his sense of taste; he can’t tell salt from sugar, lemon from a mango.
It keeps going and coming back but all the other symptoms zero.
Talking of his daily routine, now that he was already accustomed to a specific schedule back at Citizen TV and Hot 96, Jeff admitted it has not been any easy one for him.
Complete madness in my head. Coz the clock in my head, still wakes up at 4 am. It’s been crazy trying to adjust but I know I’ll be back on sooner than you think probably. This is only temporary. But this thing is real!
The Test
The seasoned journalist recalled how he was compelled to undergo the Covid-19 test after one of the colleagues at Citizen TV tested positive, only for him to get traced as a contact and end up testing positive as well.
It probably happened in the radio station because someone at Citizen was tested positive and I was traced as one of their contacts. My boss, Wachira Waruru came up and told me “Jeff, you gotta be tested” and I said “for what? why? You know I have no symptoms” and that was it.
He since went into self-isolation but fortunately, his wife and son tested negative for the virus.
Further divulging that Kenyans from all walks of life poured their hearts out, comforting and standing with him and that only uplifted him.
3,000 messages on WhatsApp another 2,000 Text messages and tweets and lots of well wishes, people praying for me. Majority have been incredibly warm to me and its really comforting.
Poshy Queen, the Tanzanian wide-hipped socialite with a heavy backside, reportedly Vera Sidika’s competition has finally said “Yes” to longtime Nigerian lover in a flashy night proposal.
The curvaceous lass is now off the market after her fiancé identified as John, went down on one knee and popped the question on the spectacle of a damsel.
A romantic late night event that went down at Dhamira Hall, Mbeya in southwest Tanzania on Saturday, July 18, as reported by Global Publishers.
Family and friends of the lovebirds were present to witness the sweet exchange go down at 10 pm as the two officiated their relationship announcing to any secret admirers that they are both “Taken”.
Her news of engagement come barely months after reports were rife she was heavily pregnant for her lover. Having been previously alleged to be dating Diamond Platnumz behind the scenes.
Either way, Congratulations to her! Check out more photos from their engagement:
Nick Odhiambo, popularly addressed as Keff Joinange is sure good at what he does, you’d actually think he is the better version of Jeff Koinange.
Anyway, after recently testing positive for Covid-19, Jeff was forced to take a step back, self-isolate and spend time off our screens until he is recovered.
His brother from a different mother, Nick Odhiambo has now taken the opportunity to comfort a dear Jeff, same tone of voice but this time with several issues to get addressed.
In a viral video, Nick started off (I need you to imagine this in Jeff’s actual tone of voice and accent):
Folks, I need you to listen keenly to what Mutahi Kagwe has to say, the other day he said “You can gerrit, I can gerrit”, and now, Jeff just got it! It’s serious folks!
Nick went on to hint that Jeff’s attitude to Covid-19 measures might be what made him vulnerable to the virus.
Maintain social distance, pull your mask, up to your mouth, sanitize and wash your hands. Speaking of which, I’ve never seen Jeff Koinange wash his hands! Bro, we need to have a chat about that. Could that be how you got the Covid?
Ken Mijungu is an angry man after witnessing burglary at his home on two consecutive occasions, the first incident was a subtle move but the second time, thugs swept his house clean!
Having just lost his NTV job and trying to find his niche in the legal space, in the face of dark times due to Covid-19, Kenyans are at the least bit impressed by such kind of inhumanity.
Taking to social media, a dear Mijungu penned:
Lightning don’t strike twice but thieves do, so the first time they broke my reinforced glass window with a sledge hummer or equivalent, carted away all electronics.
Azziad Nasenya has broken the glass ceiling to prove she can rise on her own, build her own brand and fix her crown like a Queen.
The barely 20-year old Multimedia University student has taken up multiple TV roles, landed brand endorsement deals, entertainment gigs…you name it! since her star shone in April this year.
Her fame did come with its own fair share of downfalls but that only made her stronger, bouncing back bigger, better and brighter.
So now, the lass is apparently an A-list celebrity or at least on her way there, if her 2020 rate card is anything to go by.
With the rising cases of TV and radio personalities testing positive for Coronavirus, media houses have employed stringent measures to ensure they curb the spread of the virus further in their midst.
Yesterday, Kiss 100 had all its employees go through mandatory Covid-19 tests with the likes of Jalang’o and Caroline Mutoko going public about it.
And as staff await to receive their results, Kamene and Jalang’o were forced to air their breakfast show from the comfort of their homes. You ask “how?” Well, I don’t know but that’s the latest.
Sharing the news with fans, a saddened Kamene Goro expressed:
Gooooooood morning my loves! So yesterday we took COVID-19 Test! We will be working from home to allow the office to be cleaned and also our results will be out later today. Also hii maneno ya work from home ni ngumu ????????????????
Well, spot-on detectives headed over to catch up with Kamene and Jalang’o from home and kid you not, this was the finding.
Meanwhile, comforting the curvy lass on the development, Kenyans listed the benefits of remote working with a combination of getting spared the early morning chill.
Akothee’s sister, Cebbie Koks said “Yes” in a swanky affair last week and several women have now come out to expose the lass for breaking their families on the promise of blessing their husbands with children.
In a series of posts shared by Edgar Obare, a fan was quick to admit that Cebbie and her fiancé, Juspus Gentry have only been an item for roughly 2 months now, but he has already popped the question.
This opened doors for multiple other fans to weigh in on the same, majority feeling sorry for this man who had seemingly been duped into a love bubble that was probably nonexistent.
Individuals revealed that Cebbie had apparently promised multiple men to bear them children after their wives could not, but they believe Karma is watching.
A section felt that this engagement was a scam, a life full of deception but one that was soon going to explode on their faces.
Allegations
So one woman claimed her sister’s husband had been dating Cebbie secretly for the last 4 years until the wife got to know and confronted the husband who bluntly denied.
For this reason, the woman felt Cebbie, had been minting money from her hubby’s pockets to fund her flashy lifestyle and flaunt her numerous car models online.
Further making allegations that the lass has also been involved with prominent individuals the likes of Governor Obado, Musa Jakadala, Dr Obewa just to mention a few.
Koks apparently bragged to the woman how her husband generously splashes money on her.
These women had every reason to believe that Cebbie is not in an entanglement with just one man but several others, going round wrecking homes and this needs to stop.
Before alleging that poor, innocent men on the streets of Kenya have been seduced through her black magic.
She has broken my sister’s home and she’s still breaking others. She’s not afraid of saying the way she uses charms on men…its so scary imagine…It’s high time she got exposed.
Caroline Mutoko is having it rough with Kenyans online after her unprecedented ugly rant yesterday, pinning the bulging Covid-19 statistics of men in the country, on their ignorance and unquenched ego.
According to the revered media personality, men had deemed themselves too high ranking to even observe high levels of hygiene and maintain healthy diet plans during this trying times.
She believed that majority of household heads – the men – are falling victim of Covid-19 because they are too proud to observe any measures put in place by the Ministry of Health and Government in Kenya.
Carol hinted at Papa Shirandula’s death as a case in point, having left behind a wife, Beatrice Ebbie Andega and three children who are still trying to come to terms with the actor’s untimely death.
Wild reactions
Your guess is as good as mine, this did not sit well with Kenyans who hit back at her, believing she has the audacity to give such sentiments because she is unmarried.
Others felt her adopted daughter was at risk of growing in an unhealthy environment if these are the kind of opinions Ms Mutoko holds.
A section was however quick to laud her for telling men what they did not want to be told, in plain black and white.
The Kenyan entertainment scene has been in mourning since the year started after 2019 wrapped up with one of Kenya’s brilliant, young creative, Ayeiya losing his life in a tragic road accident.
Just as we thought 2020 was going to be any kind, I’ll be honest, if anything it has been severely brutal, unwelcoming of the fact that we are still healing from the wounds of those we had already lost.
I start in order since we ushered in the new year.
1. Razz Msupa
Razz was a popular Kenyan rapper having worked with legendary artists like King Kaka before she bid us goodbye on February 4.
The lass was apparently admitted in hospital following a short illness before breathing her last. Razz was pretty close to King Kaka and news of her passing on only left him dumbfounded.
The female rap act was among those featured in King Kaka’s 2013 smash hit “Ligi Soo Remix”. May she indeed rest in peace!
Saturday, February 8, the nation woke up to news of the tragic death of gospel star, Papa Dennis after a fatal landing from a top floor in Pangani, the previous night.
Early morning, area residents, family and friends witnessed as Papa’s lifeless body was picked from the Ngara area where he allegedly jumped off the 7th floor near the Jubilee Headquarters, Pangani.
A lot of reports surrounded his death but for now, we can only allow his soul to rest in eternal peace.
3. Ken Walibora
Renowned author and respected journalist Prof Ken Walibora’s death on April 10, left Kenyans with unanswered questions, speculations rife that he was murdered into his grave.
It was reported he got knocked down by a speeding Double M bus while hurriedly crossing the road in what seemed like a chase by street boys, that left the question “why?” unanswered.
Only for autopsy results to later show that the wound on his right hand was caused by a sharp object and not by a blunt object as earlier alleged. Plus, what was more puzzling was what the 56-year old author was doing in Muthurwa on a chilly Saturday morning.
Either way, may he rest peacefully!
4. Kasee
Known for his budding antics on Churchill Show, we lost Kasee born Joseph Musyoki Kivindu on Sunday, June 28 with claims he had been battling depression before it drove him to his death.
A budding comedian who had been reduced to one-two gigs at his local Kinoo bar after life took a toll on him, forcing him into alcoholism.
Kasee’s body was found lying on the roadside in Nginduri, Kinoo after spending the previous day on a drinking spree with friends. Unfortunately, he never lived to see another day with autopsy results indicating his drink must have been poisoned.
Safiri salama Kasee!
5. Lady Maureen
The late Ohangla star’s life had started going downhill after nursing complications at a hospital in Kasarani that saw her taken closer home to Kisumu where she changed hospitals severally in an attempt to get her under the best medical team.
Akothee was a noticeable figure in the Benga musician’s journey to treatment and good health, holding fundraisers for her hospital bills and home-based care with the hope she was eventually going to get back on her two feet.
Unfortunately, before that came to pass, Lady Maureen passed on on Saturday, July 11. May her soul find eternal rest!
6. Papa Shirandula
The seasoned actor breathed his last on Saturday, July 18 at The Karen hospital while awaiting admission.
He had previously been at the facility on Wednesday to have several tests done on him, but only one was done – that of Covid-19.
His condition thereafter worsened compelling his wife to rush him to the medical center on Saturday where he unfortunately never made it past the reception, passing on in his car.
He was laid to rest yesterday, July 20 at his home in Busia. Rest in Peace Papa!
The advent of Coronavirus in the country did not look quite like it until it started hovering in local media houses, awakening Kenyans from their deep sleep that this virus does not choose.
Citizen TV, KBC were first struck with key personalities testing positive for the disease. It has now warranted media stations across the board to have their staff undergo the frightful Covid-19 test, some out, some still waiting.
The most recent being radio personality and comedian, Jalang’o.
Radio Jambo’s Breakfast show host, Gidi Gidi has come out to notify fans that he will be missing on the airwaves for a while after recently falling ill with flu symptoms.
To my radio and online fans, just to let you know that I have been feeling unwell since Friday with flu symptoms.
He underwent the Covid-19 test and as he awaits his results, Gidi has gone into isolation just as a precautionary measure in the current times.
The Doctor advised that I should take Covid-19 test first, which I did yesterday and waiting for the results. I am taking a rest in self isolation but feeling way much better today. Thanks for the support and hope to engage with you soon on air.
Churchill Show was known to be a platform that gives young creatives the opportunity to grow their talent, but for the last couple of months, it has been painted in a totally different light.
Comedienne, Zainabu Zeddy recently came out to accuse the national comedy platform for sending creatives into depression and eventually death but this did not sit well with it’s founder, Daniel Ndambuki alias Mwalimu Churchill.
The respected Godfather of comedy has finally come out public to respond to these allegations leveled against him and his platform.
Churchill Responds
During his show’s episode on Sunday, July 19, Churchill admitted he had come across the allegations, having taken him a solid 20 years of sweat and blood to raise himself to where he currently is and nothing will bring him down.
Watu wanaongea sana hadi unashindwa where do you start. Everything is a journey and it has taken me almost 20 years now to do these journey series and we are not stopping.
Fortunately, he was more than glad the era of digital media was with us, therefore lifting restrictions off comedians regards time and space to grow their skills.
He hoped majority would take advantage of online platforms to grow their own brands without having to queue at Churchill Show for auditions and all that.
10 years ago you had to audition to become great but right now you can use social media. Now we are not in that era where unasema “mtu amekukazia kukua kwa stage”, oooh “sasa huyu hanitaki”.
Closing off:
We did time for you guys. Now you are a brand, you even don’t need to be a brand, you just need to have great content to change that social media to media. You don’t have to be on TV, you don’t have to be on radio.
Despite the curves, gorgeous looks and brains, Pierra Makena ended up becoming a single parent. This is after realizing she was pregnant for the man she had parted ways with back in 2016.
Unfortunately, the guy moved on quite fast and being a good woman – Pierra chose not to disrupt anything her ex had started with his new found love.
He had moved on and dating by the time I discovered that I was pregnant and didn’t want to disrupt what they had just because I was pregnant. He started dating while we were not together so it’s all good.
4 years as a single parent
Having chosen the path of a single mother, Pierra Makena says this was the best decision ever! According to Pierra, being a single parent has taught her the art hard work and importantance of being independent.
Through her Instagram page, Pierra went on to celebrate her daughter’s 4th birthday saying;
Im soo proud of my years as a single parent than i have ever been in my life.
I thought Raising my child without the father will be disastrous only to realise we just panic and think we can’t do without a man’s help…yet we are capable and strong.
I have become more hardworking…independent and super hero!!
Deadbeat dads
And to women pushing their unwilling exes to be involved in their kids lives, Pierra had the following to say;
If a man does not want to be in his childs life…never ever force him……assume his position and raise the child for him.
STAY POSITIVE..GOD HAS YOUR BACK.
The reason for my post you ask…? Coz people have been asking how i make it as a single mum and always happy and killing it… yes its coz i dont believe a man holds the key to my success and happiness. Shit happened we move on……CHEERS TO ALL PARENTS RAISING THEIR CHILDREN …KUDOS!
And in conclusion Pierra went on to wish her lovely Ricca Pokot a happy 4th birthday saying;
KBC journalist Bonnie Musambi just last week took the Internet by storm after splashing millions on his wife as she turned a year older, only for him to test positive for Covid-19.
The TV and radio personality who has proven extra when it comes to treating his wife to the finest things in life apparently had contracted the disease 3 weeks ago but kept it under wraps for reasons best known to him.
3 weeks down the line and he confirms he has fully recovered after defeating the symptoms. Taking to social media, the moneyed radio host attested:
It is done, now I can reveal. I tested positive for Covid-19 more than three weeks ago but now am healed.
Disclosing that he had to self-isolate to protect his wife and two children who he revealed are well as he gets back on duty.
However I isolated myself and now am well. My family is well and am glad to be back on my feet. Glory to God!
A quick flashback to last week when he gifted his wife some luxury birthday gifts, flaunting them on social media and in hand was a cheque worth KSh 1 million. Yes, you heard me right.
A marriage and a love that has caused ripples in the Kenyan space and beyond, with women envious that such men actually do exist. Unfortunately, taken!
Comedian Njoro has not been okay for the past few months and thanks to Zeddy we now know what has been going on behind the closed doors.
Turns out that Njoro has been drowning in depression and alcohol just like the rest of the comedians we have since come to know. Luckily for him, Njoro has been given the opportunity to share his story which has left many shocked and feeling sorry for him.
Well, Njoro has been facing the usual financial troubles and since he has not been performing for the Churchill show; we can imagine how tough it has been for him! Speaking to Zeddy, Njoro opened up about his suicidal attempts for the first shocking many.
Ya kwanza nililamba dawa ya Panya, nilikuwa nalamba ka Glucose, ya pili nilibuy dawa ya Ng’ombe, hiyo nilikuwa nimeambiwa ukichapa ni hivyo, nilichapa hiyo. Ingine nilijaribu kujikata hapa kwa Mkono but Zote Zilifail.
Depression is real
According to Njoro sometime late last year he drove to View point and his plan was to driving off a cliff hoping to end his life.
October, November December, nilikuwa mbaya hata ukinotice Instagram yangu hiyo time sikuwa napost anything, ni state nilikuwa. Nilikuwa mbaya. Kuna ile time nilikucall, nilikuwa nataka kwenda kujipeana hapa View point, nilikuwwa nataka kwenda kurusha Gari na huko chini.
However each time he tried to end his life something always stopped him. Speaking about his last attempt, Njoro said;
Sijuwi mungu alituma nani, kuna mtu tu alikuja nikiwa naomba maombi ile ya Mwisho, I don’t know kama huyo mtu alisikia. Alikuwa na Lorry, aka park nyuma yangu na akahook gari yangu, sasa wakati nimemaliza maombi ya mwisho kwenda kudrive gari haiendi, Kumbe alikuwa amehook gari yangu nyuma, so akanishow hutafanya hii kitu unataka, so watu wakajaa hapo nikajitoa. But I was going there,
Caroline Mutoko has come out to attack men for pretending to be too immune to Coronavirus, following Papa Shirandula’s controversial demise.
The no-nonsense media personality lashed out at Kenyan men for an ego too high to even afford to take fruits, wash hands or just take frequent baths to protect themselves and their families from the adverse effects of Covid-19.
Carol came out to forewarn men that this level of ignorance and pride is what is going to take them to their grave if they don’t watch out!
The very idea that a virus could come after you, all the man that you are is impossible, until the virus does come to you. Number two “Oh Lord, you hate water!” Someone has to beg you to wash your hands and this is pre-Covid. “Ow, shower? Oh that’s news!”
She termed this “mental and habitual predisposition to shy away from hygiene” that will have lasting negative effects on men eventually.
Going further to condemn men for their terrible lifestyle choices of either drinking alcohol or eating nyama choma day in, day out.
While the Ministry of Health has consistently advised on the consumption of fruits and maintaining a healthy diet during these times.
Nobody can make you eat anything, that does not look like a cow or a goat. “Mi sikulangi matunda. Hiyo ni ya watoto na wanawake”. And yet, the Vitamin C you need, can be put on a plate. We have tried to put effervescent taps for you to drink and you´re like, “mi sikunywangi hizo vitu, ikiwa si ka-Glen fulani”.
Taking note of the common stereotype men have adopted about going to see a doctor:
You, see a doctor? You’re like “apana, nitakunya kasomething. Chang’aa huuwa hii kitu”. Because you can’t even be told, you’re like “Apana, mi siendagi hospitali, I could die there!”
Hinting at Papa Shirandula’s death that has struck the Kenyan space with a bang, Carol wrapped up:
What happened to papa? It’s a mental and behavioral thing.
