Horrifying moment DNG nearly lost his life in the hands of armed carjackers (Video)

At age 23, Kenyan hype-master DNG felt the cold chill of a pistol run through his veins.

All her ever did was to become a victim of circumstances, encountering armed carjackers while driving into his estate in the late night.

A story he vividly narrated during his recent interview on CTA.

The nasty night ordeal

So it so happened, that as he was driving into the estate with his Voxy, he met another guy driving out of the estate and right at the gate, armed hit-men took the life of the other guy and now dealt with DNG.

This left the popular MC shaken and scared for his life.

They immediately turned the firearm to his head and having witnessed what just went down, DNG was not about to mess with these guys so he gave in, was kicked out of his car and into the floor of the backseat, to now fight for his life.

They hit him with the firearm on his head, with blood gushing out of his forehead and carried along the guard at the gate as well.

DNG handed over the car to the carjackers, headed to the ATM and emptied his account. They then stopped at a police check, dished out some couple of notes to the officers and were handed over an AK47, then allowed to proceed.

Meanwhile, DNG who tried to peep out and call for help, felt the heavily loaded AK47 right on his forehead with the thug asking him to look right into it because this is not a kitchen sieve.

An ordeal that DNG lives to remember, with memories so alive like it was yesterday.

“It was one of my worst experiences, it taught me a lot. I went through defensive driving and lots of training. Even being able to normalize going out at night, it took some time,” DNG explained.

For him, his worst 3 experiences were his divorce, the carjacking and the loss of his grandmother.

Judging from their videos shared online; it is no secret that they both have a lot in common starting with how loud they can get. But judging from the things Silprosa is learning from Akothee; honestly I think this new friendship and work relationship is worth a try.

Juliani threatens to sue Jubilee Party over copyright infringement

Hip hop star Juliani, born Julius Owino Ooko is taking legal action against the ruling Jubilee Party over copyright claims for using his track Utawala to promote the BBI Report.

The music artist condemned the party for “hijacking his thoughts and voice” without his consent during their bid of the newly unveiled political document.

“There is a lot you can take away from me, I won’t flinch. But not my thoughts and my voice,” Juliani clarified.

In a legal statement issued by his lawyers, the Utawala hitmaker accused the ruling party for infringing on intellectual property, after using a portion of the song as the soundtrack of their promotional video on one of the party’s Twitter handle.

According to the artist, “he enjoys exclusive rights under Copyright Law hence his creative work cannot be used by anyone else for whatever purpose, without his authorization.”

Further bashing the BBI report for some of its flaws that go against the party’s own principles for initiatives like job creation especially for the youths.

It is in this regard that the artist, through his lawyers felt disrespected, using his production without his consent, that implied to Kenyans he is partisan and endorses their political views.

In the end, tarnishing his name and earnings for the future.

Juliani threatens to sue Jubilee Party for using his song to promote the BBI

It is in view of that, that he demands that the party’s promotional video be pulled down across their social media platforms and admit liability for infringement in 72hours, otherwise warranting further action.

Juliani’s legal statement through his lawyer, James T. Makori has elicited mixed reactions from netizens, many applauding him for demanding respect of his creative works, regardless the intensity.

Blogger Edgar Obare was yesterday arrested by unknown persons as he made his way to court. However upon reaching the gate; Edgar says he was approached by 3 men dressed in plain clothes who asked him to identify himself. And right after giving out his name they quickly held him by his pants forcing him into a waiting car.

Of course by seeing this, Edgar says he knew something was up as the ‘policemen’ who kidnapped him were not ready to answer his questions. According to Edgar, these same people tried getting access into his phone; but knowing his rights, the refused and this where it got real.

Apart from putting a hooded mask on his head, they also put handcuffs on him. However thanks to the mask he had on, the tea master says he managed to peep through and this is when he realized they were on Thika road. All this time Edgar says these police men seemed interested in his job (blogging) which seemed to have landed hi in grave danger.

Willy Paul and music producer Ilogos’ beef escalates, now takes the legal route

Willy Paul is now pressing charges against talented Kenyan music producer Ilogos after he pulled down his new track Collabo from YouTube over alleged fee arrears.

Collabo is a track the gospel-turned-secular artist released just last week, with only lucky fans able to view the music production before it went missing on YouTube.

Later to turn out that the music producer who claimed rights to the production after the artist failed to pay up his dues was the one behind the pull down.

This morning, Pozze threatened to take drastic measures against the producer who he alleged had entered the country illegally. Further revealing that Ilogos is jealous because Pozze turned down an offer to work with him.

Following the backlash, Ilogos, has called out Pozze as a “small boy lacking education who he mentored from scratch and is now behaving all-grown after hitting fame”.

“Your brain is too small to pull a fight with me. Hauna hata Diploma, utawezana na mtu ako na 3 degrees? I will triple the price you owe me and you have 3 weeks to pay up or face the consequences,” Ilogos warned the artist.

According to Ilogos, Willy Paul owes him KSh180k. Something Pozze has come out to publicly deny, attesting that it is after he decided to add Teddy B to the music production, Ilogos became envious and unreasonably pulled down the track from YouTube.

Willy Paul had given Ilogos enough time to ‘behave’ and his time has lapsed, now taking legal action against him.

However, in as much as it was a sad time, Kabi came out of the event, with life lessons, learning to appreciate what he has and letting go of what is behind him.

Kenya’s talented music producer, Magix Enga has gone off on social media a day after claiming his life is in danger following an ugly encounter with armed gunmen.

The self-proclaimed Beat King shared a video of his vandalized car that had been sprayed with bullets following a night attack by unknown gunmen.

Magix Enga revealed he was being followed by unknown attackers just after dusk, with reasons behind the attack unknown to him.

Taking to his Instagram, he urged fans to keep him in their prayers. This is after a series of 5 armed gunmen threatened his life during broad daylight, leaving him scared for his safety.

He later in the evening did a short video. Addressing the life-threatening event, declaring he has officially ditched music production if this is the extent it is going to cost him.

The ‘Beat King’ confessed that all he ever did was to be this guy from Nakuru full of ambition coming into Nairobi for hustle but it has only shown him a different side of life.

With his Facebook account having been hacked and lacking access to it, Magix Enga has as well decided to go mute on his Instagram account, until further notice.

Worry after Edgar Obare gets arrested, his location unknown

Controversial Kenyan blogger, Edgar Obare was arrested this morning under unclear circumstances.

Edgar was apparently attending a mention of his case against Natalie Tewa at the Kiambu Law Courts this morning, before his sudden arrest.

This is according to a series of posts shared by fellow blogger and media personality, Xtian Dela who raised the alarm.

His phone was since confiscated and he was then transported to an undisclosed location that has left his close friends and family worried of his whereabouts.

“His lawyer and family don’t know where Edgar has been taken. The police have refused to say why they have arrested him and where he has been taken,” Xtian Dela added.

Urging all who come across his posts to “Help them find Edgar Obare”.

Xtian strongly believed that “if at all Edgar is guilty of the charges pressed against him, then the Law should take its course, but he will not sit and watch as Edgar disappears just the way other bloggers like Bogonko Bosire did”.

On his IG account, Edgar had earlier indicated that today, he will be out of office because he is in Court over the hearing of case against Influential vlogger Natalie Tewa.

Unfortunately, his whereabouts now remain unknown.

Actor Machachari might be all grown up but the pain of losing his mother while still young remains fresh till date. Having lost his mother Wanade, real name Beth Nyambura Mbaya, who was an actor too; Baha aka Tyler and his brother have learnt to lean and depend on each other for 7 years now.

According to reports the late Wanade passed on in 2013 after a long struggle with cancer. She had however raised her sons the right way; and I am guessing this is why Tyler has turned out just fine!

Exray apologizes to fans after flopped Gengetone festival in Machakos (Video)

Exray has finally addressed an issue that left many of Gengetone lovers and fans disappointed this past weekend at at the Gengeton Festival that went down in Machakos.

According to Exray who was part of the listed artists to perform this past weekend; the event organizers allegedly refused to pay the performers. However there could be no show without payment which brought in a few complications that ended up affecting the fans.

Through his Instagram page the young man went on to reveal that Genge fest’s complications were caused by Covid 19. This is because the original plan was for the event to go down in April; but due to the lockdown, the event was pushed to October.

Payments

Having been paid the deposit at the beginning of the years, the artists expected the other half which the organizers apparently did not have at the time the event was going down.

According to Exray, the organizers suggested they wait for the tickets to be counted in order for them to be paid. However this could not be since they also have bills to pay!

Willis Raburu speaks up after much-hyped Gengetone Festival disappointed fans

Willis Raburu has finally spilled the beans on what actually transpired during the much-hyped Gengetone Festival on Saturday that saw no artist perform and with countable fans in attendance.

The Gengetone Festival was one of the most-awaited public performances in the country, before COVID-19 struck and the event had to be brought to a halt until further notice.

An event that had been set for April 2020, with artists gracing the event already paid up half the amount but the situation could not allow.

The Gengetone Festival mess

Well now, time was up and the Festival was finally going down at Machakos People’s Park on October 31. However, the evening event instead turned into a major disappointment.

It begins with a handful of fans turning up for the event, as the Citizen TV journalist tried to hype the crowd ahead of anticipated stellar performances from Gengetone groups later on.

Unfortunately, there were zero performances.

First, the Gengetone artists never got on stage, as late as 8pm with an event set to end by 9pm. With at least 6 Gengetone groups scheduled to perform.

It later emerges that things behind the scenes were the problem.

Raburu speaks

In an angry rant online, an embarrassed and irritated Willis Raburu through a video, called out the event organizers for hyping an event, paying suppliers, the venue, sound engineers and all. But not a single artist got a share of the money.

According to him, no artist had been paid prior to them getting on stage so he told them not to perform. Event organizers threw in all sorts of lame excuses and fake promises that did not rub off well with the artistes.

They left the event, greatly disappointed and feeling used. Clarifying that never again will Gengetone artistes accept to be fooled and taken for granted by event organizers who think they are not worth the money.

Raburu labelled their actions as ‘immoral’, urging all artistes in the country to ‘speak up’ and get the respect they deserve.

Because, if there had been International artistes to perform at the event, they would have been paid even before boarding their flight to Kenya.

A bad habit among organizers dealing with local artists that Willis Raburu brutally condemned and spoke against. Declaring it is time, this stopped!

How DNG’s bitter fallout with mom shaped his career as an MC for the better (Video)

Kenyan known hype master, Davidson Ngibuini aka DNG has for the first time narrated how he nearly ran homeless after a bitter fallout with his mum, during his early campus days.

Like every other teenager transitioning into adult life, there will always be that ‘7th sense’ that makes you think you are wiser than your parents. Or that parents just don’t want you to enjoy that hype ‘youth’ kind of life.

DNG was no different a kid.

During his interview with CTA, the media personality recalled how he started his MC gigs during his very early days in Campus-USIU, that saw him spend most days and nights hopping from event to another.

So the A-List MC would duck into his parents’ house, quickly grab a shower, eat and leave. A routine his mom had observed to the point that one day she told him to his face “this is not a lodging”.

Being the egoistic and ‘wise’ DNG he was at the time, he got fed up with his mum’s nagging and once dared her that he can leave for good as well.

To his face, his mom said that was fine and the kid woke up the next morning, packed all his stuff into a pickup but had no idea where he is going next.

Fortunately, he hit up one of his good friends at school and requested to share a room with them, then they can split the rent charges. Fair enough, so was it!

But it became tricky when either needed to bring in their chiq.

Anyway, the two would survive on simple dishes for meals, remember, DNG did not have a source of income, so how he will pay the KSh5k rent, remained a headache for him.

He tried his luck as a DJ on a minimum Ksh5 monthly, just enough to pay his percentage of the rent.

Since then, it has been history, DNG stands as one of the best MCs the country has ever had, having worked across the country and across organizations both local and global.
